Avatar f tn the doctor also said that most kinds of birth control mess with your hormones so that is the reason for the unexpected weight gain and inability to lose any of the weight.
Avatar m tn I've battled acne since 5th grade, and I'm just about to turn 21 now. Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body.
Avatar f tn Tri-Sprintec typically causes nausea, bloating, stomach cramps, breast pain, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and changes in your appetite and weight. Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue. These side effects are fortunately rather benign. However, they may become bothersome if they last for more than three days.
Avatar f tn Furthermore I been having symptoms of fatigue, nausea every now and then, loss of appetite, and weight gain, but I notice this when I started to take the birth control and I thought they were just the side effects of taking it. But now I have missed two periods and I'm starting to worry. So do I need to take a pregnancy test ASAP? HELP ME PLEASE!
Avatar f tn t give me false info) but the pills always worked for me and the t shape thing makes you gain weight. I suggest nuvo ring or pills because shot also can make you gain weight. Good luck.
Avatar f tn But the weight gain in my stomach and lower back pain were not expected. Should I be worried about something else such as IBS or other hormonal imbalances? I even took multiple pregnancy tests which were negative and I've been getting my period every month. But my body feels like it's tricking itself into feeling pregnant or something. I actually feel quick flutters in my stomach everyday.
Avatar f tn I was not gaining weight on the scale and had recently lost weight before this. I have been watching it and noticed that it is getting worse. I also bloat even more after eating. My fingers swell and fluctuate in size. For a few months, I have also had lower back pain that feels musculature but I can't figure out the cause other than changing hormones. It sometimes radiates down one leg or the other. This seems to be improving though.
Avatar m tn I was a very healthy 41-year-old woman who took Sprintec and had two strokes within 5 minutes and spent two days being a human pin cushion in the hospital. It was determined that there was no other reason to have a stroke besides my birth control pills.
10370221 tn?1409648755 This sounded like a great idea to me until I went online and read stories of women who stopped taking their birth control pills. I read about all the side effects they got...weight gain, break outs, spotting, excessive bleeding, headaches, etc... I am 22 years old, so I am still prone to break outs (and I really don't want to break out more than I already do), I already have a heavy flow as it is with the pills, and lets just say I don't want to gain extra weight.
Avatar f tn Depression, mood swings, food craving, weight gain, bloating, and lack of lubrication. My doctor is switching my pills to one with a higher hormone level. She says I am feeling bad because my pills are not strong enough. I start the new ones Sunday and am hoping for the best. Two things that will definitely help are more protein in your diet and exercise. This will keep your blood sugar levels more stable and energy level higher.
Avatar f tn But in my late 30s, I started to gain weight inexplicably. I worked out hard, every day, and ate next to nothing, yet continued to gain weight. I even did that Insanity program... which IS hard! I gained 2 lbs. >_< It was my absolute inability to lose weight that actually led me to a solution. It was through searching for information about weight loss resistance that I learned IR is an expected part of PCOS, and that some women had even found a solution.
Avatar f tn I am thinking about stopping with mine since I have been taking it for 7 years straight (Sprintec) and now I am not able to obtain anymore pills because I am out of the country. Did you experience break outs, weight gain, or headaches when you stopped taking BC pills? Thanks!

Avatar f tn I have suffered from severe fatigue and muscle weakness for quite a while (I am a healthy weight and went from previously feeling perfectly fine to feeling very weak and tired all the time.) Recently it was discovered that my vitamin D levels are very low, so I was put on 50000 iu Vitamin D once weekly for eight weeks. I began this treatment about two weeks after I got on the pill, Sprintec.
Avatar f tn It all began about 2 years ago when I initially switched up my diet and lost weight quite rapidly. I lost my period for about 6 months and my hair shed. I had blood work done then, and no irregularities were present. My hair loss eventually subsidized (although my hair never fully grew back), and my period returned. However, in June I missed my period, and my hair loss returned. I got bloodwork done, and my endocrinologist diagnosed me with having high testosterone levels.
Avatar f tn Not only the size but the weight and feel changed completely. Took it out and they haven’t grown back.
Avatar n tn I started sprintec about five weeks ago...I have SUPER heavy periods (fibroids) and actually qualify for a hysterectomy, but my insurance is crap and it would cost me $2600 out of pocket. I also always have.a.BAD case of PMS!!! Anywho, I'm not willing to pay that price for an elective surgery so my Dr put me on Sprintec, but instead of three weeks active/one week reminder, I'm on six weeks active/one week reminder.
Avatar f tn Ive been off of sprintec (and all BC) for 6 weeks now. had a VERY heavy period and vulva pain directly after.
Avatar f tn I've been on Sprintec for over 6 months now and have had issues with random heavy spotting for about 3.5 months now. The spotting seems to just start out of nowhere at times, although I have noticed that the spotting will occur when I am more stressed (other times it will just happen when I'm not stressed at all). I've tried to be really consistent about taking my pill at the same time every single night, so I'm unsure what would cause me to spot so frequently and heavily.
Avatar f tn Now my vaginal area is itchy and uncomfortable and I think it might be the pills. Should I call my doctor and set up an appointment to check and make sure its the pills and nothing serious?
Avatar m tn After the abortion i was put on a birth control called sprintec. Now i have a huge concern! my stomach is growing and very noticable since im only 100 pounds. Im also feeling movement in my stomach everyday for the past few days. i spoke to a dr. who told me they could have missed the baby during the abortion so i took some more test which both urine and blood test came out NEG. !
Avatar n tn Ive be taking sprintec for 3months forgot to refill my prescription so I have missed 4 pills in a row sunday-wednesday they would all be blue pills. I have had intercourse with in theses days. Should I take a pregnancy test before I start back on the pill? If so when should I take the pregnancy test?
Avatar f tn and I truely hope it does, I do recommend taking calcium suppliments, being so young I was very naive thinking something like bone loss wont happen to me. I also say exercise if possible. A couple of side effects include weight gain and moodiness. I also still experienced slight menstrual cramping, breast tenderness, mood swings etc each month when I should have been due when I did have that one period free year.
Avatar f tn massive weight gain and still had my period but did help with endo. 3. Provera pills: Was prescribed 2- 10mg tablets per day: stopped my period for bigger amounts of time but was SO moody (my husband went back to smoking behind my back lol). I took myself off of it after a month!!! 4. Mirena IUC: This was my most recent and it made me have super irregular periods, but there were a few times without periods for a few months so that helped. It really cut down on te super heavy periods too.
Avatar f tn Therefore this month i started taking Eth estradi/norgestimate and I feel very lazy and sleepy all the time and I see that I have been gaining weight. My question is is what I am taking now the same as what I was taking before because that is what the pharmacy told me? If it is not the same can I stop them now or do I have to wait until I finish this one pack?
