Avatar f tn Tri-Sprintec can affect your appearance and cause increased hair growth, loss of hair or freckling of your skin. It can cause nervousness, a headache and fatigue. These side effects are fortunately rather benign. However, they may become bothersome if they last for more than three days. In this scenario, phone your physicialo perhaps the mix is why your cramping.
Avatar f tn You'll have to go back to him and tell him the side effects are too much. There are a lot of other options out there if you want to do the every 3 months thing. He needs to be willing to work with you to find a pill that won't cause these type of side effects.
Avatar f tn I have been taking Sprintec for almost a month now and its caused my breasts to swell and nausea so far, but those side effects have gone away. Now my vaginal area is itchy and uncomfortable and I think it might be the pills. Should I call my doctor and set up an appointment to check and make sure its the pills and nothing serious?
Avatar f tn I was not gaining weight on the scale and had recently lost weight before this. I have been watching it and noticed that it is getting worse. I also bloat even more after eating. My fingers swell and fluctuate in size. For a few months, I have also had lower back pain that feels musculature but I can't figure out the cause other than changing hormones. It sometimes radiates down one leg or the other. This seems to be improving though.
Avatar f tn I am currently taking Tri-Sprintec, and a week before and after my period I do not have discharge. However, the other two weeks, I have excessive discharge daily. I've talked to my MD about it and she thinks that since I don't have any other crazy side effects or issues besides the discharge, then I should basically deal with it. Because If I go onto another birth control I might have worse side effects etc.
Avatar m tn I've battled acne since 5th grade, and I'm just about to turn 21 now. Yesterday my dermatologist prescribed me 25mg Spironolactone 2xD and Tri-Sprintec BCP to help clear my skin up. I trust her judgement with placing me on both of those medications, but what worries me is that it may be too much of a hormone change for my body.
10370221 tn?1409648755 This sounded like a great idea to me until I went online and read stories of women who stopped taking their birth control pills. I read about all the side effects they got...weight gain, break outs, spotting, excessive bleeding, headaches, etc... I am 22 years old, so I am still prone to break outs (and I really don't want to break out more than I already do), I already have a heavy flow as it is with the pills, and lets just say I don't want to gain extra weight.
Avatar f tn Hello, Every pill has its own advantages and disadvantages. It may cause side effects in few while not in others. These symptoms being experienced by you can be due to hormonal fluctuations or side effects of the new pill. It may take 2-3 months for your body to adjust to the new pill. If the symptoms are severe and persistent it is suggested to contact your gynecologist and get evaluated. Your doctor may suggest an alternative drug if needed. Hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar f tn Furthermore I been having symptoms of fatigue, nausea every now and then, loss of appetite, and weight gain, but I notice this when I started to take the birth control and I thought they were just the side effects of taking it. But now I have missed two periods and I'm starting to worry. So do I need to take a pregnancy test ASAP? HELP ME PLEASE!
Avatar m tn I was a very healthy 41-year-old woman who took Sprintec and had two strokes within 5 minutes and spent two days being a human pin cushion in the hospital. It was determined that there was no other reason to have a stroke besides my birth control pills.
633143 tn?1262133535 At first we thought she may have just pinched a nerve because she has been having some pretty severe lower back pains, but then she looked up the side effects of her BC and these symptoms were listed under the serious (and sometimes fatal) side effects. She wanted to call her doctor and/or go to emergency, but my mother refuses to even acknowledge that there may be a problem.
Avatar f tn And on the May 12th I started taking cryselle (switched from tri sprintec due to weight gain) and a week and one day later my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex and have pretty much been having unprotected sex since although he always pulls out. *For about a week or two I've been having pregnancy symptoms, swollen and tender breasts, horrible cramping, smells bother me really bad, i get headaches every day, and I'm always really nauseous.
Avatar f tn i recently started to take sprintec 28 and since then i have found it impossible to lose any weight ! i am not overweight, i would just like to lose a few pounds before beach season. i weigh around 112 lbs, i am about 5 feet 2 inches tall and i am 28 years old. i excercize regularly and eat well so i really cant figure out the problem. it is very irritating to me. please help with some advice if you can.
Avatar f tn Ive been off of sprintec (and all BC) for 6 weeks now. had a VERY heavy period and vulva pain directly after.
Avatar f tn Hi I am on sprintec birth control pill and I have been for almost 10 months now. I've never missed a pill and I've always taken it on time, maybe a half hour to an hour late here and there but that doesn't happen very often. I had unprotected sex and he doesn't think he ejaculated in me but wasn't sure so I took plan b 16 hours later. This happened on the 8th of January and I had a little bit of light brown discharge today.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, my only side effects was constantly bleeding and abnormal periods for over a year. Oh and my break outs did come back after getting off the pill. Everyone's different and I haven't been taking it near as long as you have. I was on BC for a year all together.
Avatar f tn I will try it but I am so sensitive to all medication side effects. I had issues on Sprintec. The dr said if Provera doesnt work its either Lupron or Hysterectomy. I dont want a hyster so I may have to try Lupron. Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn i know all birth controls are different, but they have a lot of similar side effects. i was on yasmin, seasonique, kariva, and now sprintec. the first two that i mentioned: i had my period for about a month. sometimes it just takes a while for your body to adjust. for me it eventually regulated.
Avatar n tn This has never happened to me before. Also, I take tri-sprintec and I read that one of the side effects can be yeast infections.
1749614 tn?1311882158 I started taking birth control on the first day of my period and took it at exactly 10am everyday after that. I had unprotected sex on the last day of the active pills, AKA the day before the sugar pills started. He pulled out and did not *** inside me then i had a normal period. My Doctor switched me however From Tri-sprintec to Aviane on the next pack of pills and I had unprotected sex on the first day of starting those, but once again he pulled out and did not *** at all.
Avatar f tn I had periods that would last 10 days so I took birthcontrol to help and it did and after about 2 years I stopped taking it and my period was regulated to 3 days. The bc was fine the first time I took it and I took yaz but now they started me on a different one and I felt funny the first day and didnt want to take it then! Its called sprintec I think. I liked yaz!
Avatar f tn ok...i'm 23 years old and not looking to have a child. i have been on tri sprintec birth control pill for about 4 months...current pack i'm on is my 4th pill pack. so far it has been great...no bad side effects...but now i'm freaking out a little. i'm on my week 2 pills and just experienced probably less than a teaspoon amount of blood when i wiped after going to the bathroom.
Avatar m tn m already getting the same stomaches as I did the last time I took them. I read up on my pills and they do have side effects but I feel I shouldn't be having these. My pills are called Tri- Sprintec. Does anyone have any tips on how to stop the stomaches? Or should I just keep taking them and wait for my body to get used to them?
Avatar n tn I started sprintec about five weeks ago...I have SUPER heavy periods (fibroids) and actually qualify for a hysterectomy, but my insurance is crap and it would cost me $2600 out of pocket. I also always have.a.BAD case of PMS!!! Anywho, I'm not willing to pay that price for an elective surgery so my Dr put me on Sprintec, but instead of three weeks active/one week reminder, I'm on six weeks active/one week reminder.
Avatar n tn yeah I've planned on trying to make sure I drink lots of water, and eat healthy, and stuff. But I do that anywas... I'm depressed at this point... and I haven't been able to stop crying for hours now...
Avatar f tn I was on the pill (Tri-Sprintec) for 4 years.. No side effects, but because I'm OCD, I never missed a pill. It did, however take me awhile to get pregnant once I stopped taking it!
Avatar n tn Ive be taking sprintec for 3months forgot to refill my prescription so I have missed 4 pills in a row sunday-wednesday they would all be blue pills. I have had intercourse with in theses days. Should I take a pregnancy test before I start back on the pill? If so when should I take the pregnancy test?
