Sprintec and endometriosis

Common Questions and Answers about Sprintec and endometriosis

Should I start my new birth control(Yasmin) on the current day of the month I'm on now with the old type (would be day 6), or should I start 5 days prior since I'm technically 5 days behind, or just start on the very first dose of Yasmin in the pack? I can't wait to get a period before starting a new pack, I have very bad endometriosis and literally cannot allow myself to get my period..even drugs like vicodln don't help at all for that pain, I just can't do it.
She seems to link the start of this from when she started a new birth control (Sprintec we think) and nightly for almost 1-2 months now and she has had the birth control for 3 months. We would stop the birth control, however, she needs it because she has endometriosis and could develop cysts. Is there a possible link or should we seek out her OBGYN.. we are really concerned because someone shouldnt be having fevers, aches, nausea every night.
Left untreated, it can lead to other more serious complications, including endometriosis, heart disease, and ovarian cancer. Diagnosed by blood tests like blood insulin levels, serum testosterone and androgen levels and ultrasound. Fibroids are benign tumors of the uterus. They are diagnosed by ultrasound lower abdomen or CT abdomen. In my opinion, consulting a gynecologist and endocrinologist and discussing these two is the best. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
Am I starting my period? What do I do if it does start and I am still on the pills? Should I just stop the pills and continue them when the period stops? Please let me know what to do, just in case. I am on Mononessa/Sprintec. I am not sexually active.

Causes of menorrhagia are Hypothyroidism, Endometrial proliferation or hyperplasia like ovarian tumor and polycystic ovarian disease, endometrial polyps and neoplasia, endometriosis, fibroids and uterine sarcomas. In my opinion you need to get your pelvic examination done from your gynecologist along with investigations like complete blood count, thyroid function tests,PAP smear and ultrasound uterus.Once cause of menorrhagia is identified, treatment can be planned.
(they thought it was endometriosis). The doctor put me on birth control (Sprintec), where I skip the placebo week so that I don't have a period. I missed 1 pill in late April and bled for 2 weeks. That is the only pill that I missed. The past 2 months I've been getting the same symptoms that I had before they found my cyst, except this time I don't have a period.
This has been going on for several years. ( as backgound, I am 40, two kids, never had endometriosis and do not have it now. Get regular colonoscopy and exams, thin prep and PAPs always negative, 28 day cycle) Ugly details: After BM, bright red blood in commode and on toilet tissue. (positive that it is vaginal, not rectal) the curious thing is that once it happens there is no residual bleeding at all. No further spotting on the same day, no darker blood, nothing.
- I'm on the pill (tri-sprintec) and this is much more likely to happen as I get in the later weeks of the pack. I rarely have a problem at the beginning of the month. - This only happens during rear-entry sex or if he hits my cervix vigorously. I'm adequately aroused before we start. - I have a history of HPV from several years ago, but my pap smears have been normal for at least 5 years now. - I was tested for STDs during my last two gyno appts, and those came back entirely clean as well.
I have never been on BC before this. I started with Tri-sprintec, at first it seemed to stop the bleeding and cause me to feel better. Though if I don't take BC I continue to bleed brown blood. Then the last period I have was more painful then any other period that I have had in my life. I couldn't sleep because of it and had terrible diarrhea. I feel gasy and bloated constantly. I also suffer from constipation.
Since starting it she has become extremely fatigued to the point that she is sleeping 12+ hours a night and is tired all day long. She's horribly emotional (up and down constantly) and she's having issues with her contacts irritating her eyes. Then she started to notice her left arm tingling and going numb. In the past few days she said she's started to notice some tingling in her right arm as well. She didn't tell anyone until tonight, but she's also had considerable pain in her arms.
Then, as I had my period, the pain dissolved a bit and returned like crazy after my cycle, and I had continuous pain for a month. I contacted my Obgyn, and they performed an U/S and found a functional cyst on my ovary. I was give bcp to remove this. Well, I was doing ok, still having some pain, but once I got to the placebo and had a cycle last week, it was very strong, pain and all. I also had bloating and 7 pounds of weight gain last month, that is still hanging on.
I recently found out I have Endometriosis and had surgery to remove the tissue. I was on tri-sprintec (generic form of ortho tri-cyclen) prior to the surgery to (theoretically) lessen the pain, and post-surgery my doctor explained to me that I have to take the pill continuously (no period) until I want to conceive (I'm 23 now so it will be awhile). While I was on tri-sprintec I didn't seem to have any problems.
I was diagnosed with Endometriosis when I was 16 and had SEVERE pain and would miss school each month. When I was 21 I had a laporoscopy done and they took out all the lessions they saw. I have been doing much better since then, although I believe the 3.5 pregnancies since then helped, as well as all the different BC I tried. Here is what I tried and the result: 1. Ortho Cyclen pills: helped somewhat. Minimal weight gain...maybe 5 lbs. Was on this for years. 2.
28, 2 kids, hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto's, bile salt diarhea caused my having my gallbladder removed 12 yrs ago, and now a presumptive diagnosis of Endometriosis.... I have always had some mild issues with my period and what not, but never really anything major up until recently... After I had my youngest which was in Oct 2009 I have had nothing but problems with my health..
Sometimes it might last all day but then I might not feel the pain for a few days. It comes and goes. Sometimes, and I know this sounds odd but I'm trying my best to explain it, it feels like the pain is moving to my lower right side sort of diagonally away from the right side of my belly button. It also seems to hurt worse when I go to the bathroom. I've had people tell me that it sounds like appendicitis, but I haven't been running a fever or throwing up or anything.
I went to my doctor who would allow me to pay cash who gave me Tri-sprintec and It was suppose to stop my period and as of today I have been bleeding since 3/11/2013.I don't have fibroids endometriosis or anything. I am overweight and I started dieting and lost 11lbs in 2 weeks. My doctor said the sudden weight loss brought it on but I have no idea why the birth control won't stop the bleeding. Some days are heavier than others but I am so tired of being on my period. Any advice???
I have just started taking Sprintec and I'm 18 but I just got off my period like 6 days ago and ever since I've had this light brown discharge with clumpy brown stuff in it. I'm not sure if anyone has an answer to what it is or knows how to get rid of it but if so please let us know it really bothers me.
I then went to an obgyn and he gave me again sprintec, talked to me and said to give the endocrongolist pills a shot, I did for a month but I never felt they worked. My bf claims my mood was better. My sex drive is gone. It's now august and I've had my period again for over a month. I'm clotting no torwards the month 2 week point. I'm feeling tired and like barfing again and bad cramps that are completely random.
I take 1 tri-sprintec birth control pill and 1 Prestiq daily @ bedtime. When I began noticing these I think I was taking Cymbalta rather than Prestiq. Neither the birth control pill or the Prestiq resemble this object. Any clues?
If you can use alternate forms of birth control I would try stopping and see what happens. My period has been on time since I stopped and they have been fairly short and light. Putting all those hormones in our bodies certainly has consequences and I think increased anxiety may be one of them.
I had endometriosis and adnomiosis when I was in my early to mid 20s. I had a complete hysterectomy at 26. I did have bleeding after intercourse but I also had severe cramping and pain (even without intercourse). They could not figure out what my problem was either because the endometriosis as not that bad but after the hysterectomy they did a biopsy and found the adnomiosis which never showed up before. I would go to a specialist for another look. Good luck!
the last time my fiance and i had sex was on 1-29-06 and prior to that was on the 22nd and 24 of jan. Need answers.
Hello! I'm on the cheapo Walmart version of Ortho-tri, (sprintec) and I had my scheduled white-pack of pills period last week. This past Wednesday I had my first experience of unprotected sex with my bf of 4 years. Was it too soon? I'm a little worried, since I'd only been on 3 reg. days of the pills since my period, and today I've been having cramps and all those other gross symptoms of periods. I don't want to get pregnant.. how long should I wait to get a preggo test?
hi, i am in a similar position with negative pregnancy tests. i am now 16 days overdue and HPTs are negative. however i have other factors including endometriosis ( diagnosed aug05). it isnt uncommon for me to go overdue, but not this far. while i am beginning to hold little hope that i am pregnant i will be going to the doctor if my period hasnt started in 4 days. my husband is hoping for the best as we have been trying for 18 months now. ill keep you'se posted if anything comes of it.
t want to take it, plus I really want to have another baby next year and given my Endometriosis it is not easy, so I don;t want to go back on the pill, but I don;t want to be bald either and the back is so thin now, and it was never thick. I have always had baby-fine hair, but there was alot of it and it is naturally got wave and body, now it is so stressful. I don't know what to do, and my MD doesn't believe that the pill affects hairloss.
When I looked it up most of what I found described that as being brownish red and almost like a light period. This was a small ammount and light pink. I have been very much on emotional extremes so if I am not pg I know that my horomones are riding a roller coaster anyway. what do your other accronyms mean? I am new to this...
Once I had it removed I did not have a period for 3 months and like you I had pinching etc...They performed a scan and no cysts found...
I got my IUD out on Aug 5th and am ttc. I have had lots of spotting and maybe a period but nothing regular. I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal. Any advice/stories would be appreciated. Thanks.
