I am really so upset and question what is the point of living if my life is going to be like this for the rest of my life. No one suffers from infections like I do. I feel so isolated and alone... I have eaten sporanox, diflucan, pessaries.. they will only make me feel better for two weeks and the symptoms will return. I would really appreciate any stories from anyone who have successfully battled such recurrent infections..

I would not take lamisil ever again. It is notoriously hard on your liver. Sporanox is really bad for the liver also.

Sounds like toenail fungus. Unfortunately the drugs that take care of it (lamasil and sporanox) are really harsh on your liver. Show your doc next time you're in the office. I wouldn't make a special trip unless its really bothering you. Meanwhile, don't file those nails, that spreads the fungus. It takes a long time to get rid of it. Good luck.

I was wondering what would be the best fungal medication for him to take terbinafine or fluconazole I read on the internet that sporanox is not recommended. The effect had begun at day 13-14 and until 6 weeks after the end of the treatement. After, they gave me itraconazole 200 (Sporanox) during 1 week and it worked very well. So my dermatologist conclued it was atypic pityriasis versicolor. Unfortunately, now he is retired. And I am in trouble because others dermatologists say it is eczema (clinical). I was Rx Sporanox pending liver function test. AST was normal, but ALT was 52 in a lab norm range of 2 - 45. I was told possibly elevated due to my 1600 - 2400 mg/dy of nsaids (Advil gel caps). ETOH consumption moderate. If I cut the nsaids, how long should I expect to wait to retest for a drop of 7 points on that ALT score? Is 45 really the high end of norm?

Hi, I have been experiencing a red painless sore covered by white colored form on top of my penis for the last two weeks. I already consulted a dermatologist and have taken SPORANOX for first two days then have changed the medication to 'Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropoinate Cream', Tablets of 'Metronizazole 400mg 'and 'Ciprofloxacin 500'.
