Depending on the dose of Opana you will be taking it should still give you the euphoria as it is a stronger opioid than oxycodone; however, I would recommend you to be careful with it, and take it exactly as prescribed (don't split the pill in half or crush it to remove the time release coating) as you will get the full dose all at once which could be dangerous.

go as long as you can without anything and just when you start feeling crappy. Just take a half. Keep doing that just cut it in half....hold .....half hold....that worked for me...then see a sub doc. Get subutex NOT suboxone....and take a 1 pill at night half it hold half it hold....and maintain on a chip and break away! Worked for me hope it works for you!

I am moving to Knoxville from Michigan and I am addicted to Opana ER. There is only one doctor in Knoxville who prescribes narcotics and Opana isn't helping with my chronic pain, anyway (I have had five back surgeries). I tried detoxing by switching to Dilaudid, taking smaller and smaller doses... Then, an injury in Physical Therapy put me back on my full Opana dosage. I've tried using Kratom for the pain and it keeps me awake. Can the fast-acting Oxymorphone be cut in half?

For the past 4 days, I only needed ONE dose of Percocet (10/650 mg), which was taken in the early morning about 3 hours before my Opana ER dose. This is nothing short of AMAZING as I usually require 3-4 doses of Percocet for breakthrough pain throughout the day. So in summary, I can't believe how well my pain is controlled on Opana ER.

t know how many 5/325 mg Percocets you were taking a day before switching to the Opana ER 5 mg, but to have equivalent pain relief from the Opana ER, you had to have taken only 2 Percocets a day. If you were taking more than 2 Percocets a day then the switch to Opana ER 5 mg was a step down in terms of pain relieving strength.

I have been taking Opana ER 30mg. 3 times a day for several months. My doctor has moved to Alaska and gave me 3 months of prescriptions while I find another doctor. When I dropped off the 2nd prescription the pharmacy told me they have ordered Opana several times over the last month and the order has not come. I called every pharmacy in my town and they said the same thing. Tapering is out of the question, so I guess its time for me to stop taking it, and it will have to be cold turkey.

It's good to hear you're doing fairly well. I've been on Opiates for a spinal injury for many years. Currently i'm on Opana ER 40mg (x2/day) plus Opana IR 10mg (3x/day) and it's barely taking the pain level down anymore. The most I cold detoxed was 48 hours, and I can't explain how awful it was at that last hour before I took a pill.
