operation

Avatar m tn Hi, My close relative (uncle - 63 yrs old) had recently undergone collar-bone plate-removal operation, during which time, something happened because of which the supply of oxygen to brain stopped all of a sudden and he became unresponsive and has been in unconscious state since then (more than 3 weeks now). He was in ventilator for 12 days and has been in ICU since then. Rest of the body is functioning in a normal manner.
Avatar m tn my father has brain tumor for 5 years. he had operation three times the last one was 9 month ago in his last operation he lost his left eye and a small amount of tumor remain his sinus 4 month after operation he was under gammaknife radiation but his tumor grown again and he is going to lost the other eye. he is so upset what should we do?
Avatar m tn Hyperintense signal in seen in both tibal condyles on FSEIR images appearing hypointense on T1W images suggestive of bone bruise/contusion. A moderate sized intra articular effusion is seen in the knee joint mainly in the supra and retro patellar synovial compartments. This looks hypointense on T1W images and hyperintense on T2W images. Anterior cruciate ligament is not visualized suggestive of full thickness tear. Posterior cruciate ligament appears normal.
Avatar n tn I received my brain MRI images, can anyone help me read them? I'm so nervous waiting for the report. Thank you.
Avatar m tn When I turn out the bedside light I notice the green LED on my humidifier splits into two images that slowly separate vertically with the higher one being the right eye. When I turn the light back on the two images restore to one. In normal light I see perfectly (20/25 left and 20/20 right) with both eyes open however, alternately closing each eye shows the right eye image is slightly above the left.
Avatar n tn The explanation for this double vision (which is normal for a period of time after an IOL in an amblyopic eye) was that the brain was used to see only one image (monofocal vision), and now I have two images and it will take a while that these two images to fusion in one single image . Is there a chance that this single image not to form , now or later? How can I be sure that I'm not waiting for nothing?
Avatar f tn It looks like something out of a SciFi movie or something someone put together in their garage. LOL The images were great. They compared the images to a 1.5 side-by-side. What a difference.
Avatar m tn distorted images, with several floaters. I have appointment at Moorfields hospital (where I had op) on September the 6th. What you said, that this is quite normal has reassured me a bit and I'll just try to be patient and hope for the best.
Avatar m tn m sure NO Doc will agree but I think we have a secret way to reprogram the brain. I wonder how the brain interfaces with the retina? if it were a computer you could reprogram the interpretation of the photoreceptor cells by remapping memory. Can the brain do that? For sure it can not if we have never tried to use our MIND to retrain an old brain.
Avatar n tn Can retinal detachment have subtle changes or would you know right away somethings wrong? Is it normal to see these shadowy images that go away after a few seconds. If you saw many MD eye doctors and said your fine and its very unlikely for you to get it, do I have it?
11119474 tn?1428702170 Hi everyone. I just picked up the MRI Images from my brain and cervical spine studies, in preparation of the MS Specialist appointment coming up in 3 weeks. I posted a few on my profile if anyone would like to take a peek, and tell me if they look typical of MS lesions. The radiologist says yes, but the general neuro won't call it. Thanks!
293157 tn?1285873439 Over time the double has become more pronounced, the two images use to be like a bad photocopy, the images slightly split apart but also over lapping each other, a ghosting effect. It's still sort of the same but the images have separated more eg 'A' looks more like an 'M' and when i look to my left the images totally separate. Sometimes i'll look over at someone and they'll have another set of eyes on their forehead lol totally weird.
561706 tn?1333947274 Does anyone know of a good source of images of bp brain scans? I'd really like something I can print to use in a collage. Or are there any sources that might offer something like a poster? Thanks in advance for your help.
Avatar f tn On the diffusion weighted images, there is no acute infarct. FLAIR images demonstrate multiple foci of increased T2 signal in the subcortical and deep white matter bilateral. No hemorrhagic products are seen within the brain. There is no mass or mass effect. (Following administration of intravenous gadolinium, no area of abnormal enhancement is seen.) Incidental finding of cavum septum pellucidum and cavum vergae is noted. PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND ALL THIS!
294425 tn?1288528395 It will be interesting to see what the neurologist says if he looks at the images. I am hoping he will... I have never had my spine or spinal cord done yet. Thanks again to all of you..
Avatar f tn Hi I was diagnosed with a brain cyst by my GP, she said that I probably had it since birth. She didn't really do much explaining except that it wasn't anything serious and wasn't the cause of my daily headaches. She had an MRI done on me which came out fine. I was just wondering, I have been getting my headaches back again quite often, and I was wondering if these cysts can grow?

Yesterday and today have been hectic as you will understand when you read on. So I had my appointment with the NS yesterday, here is what happenes.... He confirmed that an MRI scan I had done showed a mild Chirai Malformation of 4mm and a 7mm Syrinx and "split cord syndrome"extending from C5 > T2.
Avatar m tn I have diabetes. I recently took an MRI and the findings showed on the brain: Findings: T2 FLAIR images demonstrate several small and punctate primarily subcortical white matter lesions bilaterally nonspecific in appearance. There is a normal flow void within the cavernous carotid arteries bilaterally Considerations would include small vessel disease, chronic systemic illness, i.e.
Avatar n tn On the X-ray images of my lungs very many white shadows. My doctors say it is lung cancer, but I have no symptoms and hope it's not cancer. Does anyone have an idea what it could even be - except cancer? I'm very desperate. Thank you for your help in advance!
Avatar f tn The MRI showed no MS, but showed that I have a problem with my eye, I had a detached retina two years ago, and underwent a double operation buckle and vitrectomy, and have lost functional eyesight in the affected eye, and am suffering now with the effects of Macular Puckering - blurry, wavy non-distinguishable images, for which I need another operation, which I am dreading and delaying. Could these feelings of tingling be coming from the problem with my eye - maybe the optic nerve?
Avatar f tn Because these two images do overlap, I see a larger object - - the shape of the normal car as well as the shape of the car if it had a flat tire on right side. My eyesight was normal before I had a cataract operation and a Crystalens was implanted in the right eye. Afterwards, in that one eye, I had blurred vision which could not be corrected with prescription lens, I saw wavy lines on the Amsler grid, and had huge floaters. .
Avatar m tn My brother in-law went for a brain tumour operation overseas. when he returned after the operation, he lost his sight(blindness). How can he recover from this blindness? Will he have to go through some operation again? please help so that I can take him through as per instructed. He is a father of 4 children and the family is in great need! Please help. I truly appreciate your prompt assistance given to my request.
Avatar m tn Based on the radiologist comment, this needs an urgent neurosurgical evaluation. It needs a complex surgery on my spinal and brain stem. I have consulted some of the neurosurgeons in my country, Canada, and they have refused to accept me and perform the surgery on this tumor. Is anybody aware of a doctor who is expert in the surgery of this tumor in Canada or other countries? Your help is highly appreciated.
