Avatar f tn I considered looking this up for you, as this information is randomly available on cancer websites, or if you google bc staging, and stuff like that. But I decided against doing this for you, because this needs to be explained to you by your doctor in person.
Avatar m tn s thyroiditis have tongue issues that has/had an impact on your speech? I have the scalloped appearance to my tongue, a swollen feeling near the back and underneath the tongue which affects my speech. Did the thyroid meds fix the problem and if so, how long did it take?
193609 tn?1292180293 Anyways, this ENT was the second doctor that told us Ashtyn needs speech therapy immediatly. He sent a referral to one of the best speech pathologists in the state.....and they called me back and told me my insurance does not cover ANY speech therapy and that he will need to get speech therapy through the local school district. My son is part of Early ON of Michigan and has other therapists through the ISD, and is waiting on an eval from a speech therapist there.
Avatar f tn t hurt to have her checked out by a speech teacher or even check out some Apraxia websites. Good luck!
Avatar n tn What are some websites that I can look on to see natural baby births ? I have 14 weeks until it's my time and I'm trying to see what I'll have to deal with .
Avatar f tn ve been reading online in multiple websites that by her age she should be able to use whole sentences...but she only says single words, some times just a couple of them. It's not like she's quiet, she "talks" all the time is just that I don't understand what she is saying. This being said, I have to add that while I speak to her in english (and sometimes in spanish) , her father speaks to her in his language and we live in an asian country, so in total its 4 languages.
Avatar f tn For the past month he has started to show a little more eye contact, he lines his toys up, and gets mad if you knock thinkgs over. He does have sensory issues. He has seen a speech terapist for a year now and just started seeing a OT. Some people have told me that it could be ADHD, Asburgers, or mild form of autism. He loves to play with cars, and he has always observed Everything, even when he was just a couple months old.
Avatar f tn So, around this time last year I experienced tingling in my left hand that lasted for a few days, coupled with extreme fatigue. Days later, I developed nystagmus only upon waking that lasted for about 10 minutes or so. That eventually went away after about a month. About six months later I had a severe headache that migrated to my right eye and lasted for over a week. Went to an optometrist, no optic neuritis.
Avatar f tn I would love to see some sort of "report card" from the pathology report/scans/blood tests/... for diagnosis and treatment. In this day of age we are all on the computer comparing notes; but we don't know what we're comparing! So a check list of every test, what it means, and medications if positive would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn m a 43 yr old woman with a small cavernous hemangioma in my brain that sometimes causes seizures. The exact location of the tumor is located in the speech center of my brain on the left side. When I'm about to have a seizure I've noticed that I lose my ability to talk correctly. In the last month I've had 2 seizures but I've noticed that I'm having difficulty talking a great deal.
Avatar n tn He has a speech therapist and an occupational therapist but no one seems to have any answers as to why is speech has stopped. We just moved from Illinois to Kentucky and the doctor in Illinois didn't seemed to concerned that he wasn't talking anymore but the doctor's here in Kentucky are very worried about it. He is a very smart child and is very aware of things going on around him it's just like he chooses to ignore you but he isn't like that all of the time.
Avatar f tn Pathology report shows infiltrating mammary carcinoma, no special type, low combined histologic grade, Low proliferative rate with apocrine cytology, measuring at least 6MM in greatest extent (best measrued on P63 IHC Slide) Calponin and P63 show absence of myoepithelial cells int he neoplastic tubules, consistent with an invasive interpretation. Immunohistochemical studies for estrogen receptor and progesteron receptor are negative. My questions: No special type? What does that mean?
Avatar f tn You can still request that your slides be read by another Pathology Lab. If you aren't seeing a Breast Specialist I suggest that you do so and this might help clear things up for you. I'm sure you are more than aggravated at how things have gone in the past. I'm not sure why the ADH wouldn't show up on Excisional Biopsy unless the area was so small that it was removed by the previous needle procedure/ OR/ the Excisional Biopsy did not include the area of ADH.
Avatar f tn t seen that as a test for dysphagia in any MS forum. It seems more relevant to get a barium swallow or speech pathology assessment. I've had so many tests lately, and spent so much time at the clinic, that I'd like to avoid this if it's not necessary. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn Please consult doctor or get the X ray cervical spine done to rule out cervical pathology. Avoid thick pillows too and also get your blood pressure checked.

Avatar f tn Dear Joacs456 (using your nickname) Really very sorry to hear that. From your question it appears as though there is a pathology in brain--like aneurysm, hematoma etc due to injury. I am sure MRI must have been done after and before surgery. What do the reports say? Have you consulted a senior neurologist? A more detailed information about medical reports and Neurologist's opinion will be very helpful.
Avatar n tn I have a question on pathologic myopia. I've been reading several websites, and can't seem to find a set definition. I have high myopia (-9.5 diopter both eyes, astigmatism of -3 both eyes, both stable for at least ten years) 2 stable atrophic holes on the right eye, and a small amount of stable lattice in both eyes. Vision is corrected to 20/20 with GP contact lenses. I am 39 years old. My oph. has mentioned no signs of other pathology and stated that my macula looks normal.
Avatar n tn If your child’s doctor believes further assessment in necessary, then I recommend that you find an assessment team familiar with young children and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). A speech and language pathologist should be a member of the team given your description of the communication problems. (I am not a speech and language pathologist, but 3 or 4 word phrases for a 2-1/2-year-old doesn’t sound all that atypical to me.
Avatar n tn Why are their people/websites that try and discredit the test so much especially on US websites, saying it’s a waste of money and feeds off people’s emotions/anxiety? Saying there is no evidence that it can find early detection at before 3 weeks and that’s why it’s not offered as tests like the standard antibody tests at 6 weeks onwards?
