I went to South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana doing some volunteer work and when I got home (after 6 months abroad) I began to experience the symptoms that I am about to list below. It has been about 1.5 years since my first trip and I had to cut my second trip this year short due to these symptoms and the severity that I was experiencing. This is affecting my life to the point where I can't work to provide for my family and it is extremely difficult to perform daily tasks comfortably.

Hey there. In your shoes I'd do more than a little tweaking. I'd rearrange the wording so it sounds more like me. That way I'd be less likely to forget what I was saying. I'd also make it shorter, 10 minutes or so. As prompts I'd use large index cards with just some short bullet points that represent the next idea I want to convey. Not detailed, maybe 10 or 12 all told. I'd make extra sure I emphasized the stuff they want to hear about their role iin the organization.

s thyroiditis have tongue issues that has/had an impact on your speech? I have the scalloped appearance to my tongue, a swollen feeling near the back and underneath the tongue which affects my speech. Did the thyroid meds fix the problem and if so, how long did it take?

Hi i took my daughter Melissa to see a speech and language therapist today and she said from the little test she did her speech is within normal parameters, but from what i have been saying she did say she wanted to test her at school to check her understanding. She did notice that Melissa went into her own world and that when i spoke to her i had to repeat myself quite a few times.

The pleasant, younger than me, male principal made a good little speech and repeated several times that we should fill in our registration packets that come in the mail well in advance, and not wait and pile in on Registration Day and try to do it.

Fetal alcohol syndrome is a diagnosis. However she should also be seen by a speech and language therapist to assess her own speech abilities and her ability to follow language (as you say she appears to forget familiar words, doesn't respond to directions/questions etc). The speech therapist should also assess her working memory, auditory memory, social skills etc.

I am sure MRI must have been done after and before surgery. What do the reports say? Have you consulted a senior neurologist?
