665587 tn?1265946924 Went to pre-op today, this is my pathology report. I really don't understand the oncocytic word (will have to look it up)--from what I was told, it is good news. As 'far as they can tell' it is confined to the thyroid. I will have tt on 11/18, start Synthroid 125 mcg. in hospital, will deal with radiation after thyroid heals. Okay, I am ready for you to grade me in understanding!!! Did I aget an A? COMMENT: Thank you for sharing this most challenging case with us.
665587 tn?1265946924 Guess I need to post here where all the people are!!!! Went to pre-op today, this is my pathology report. Avatar m tn One thing I would do is to get a second opinion on the pathology of the tumors....just to be certain. Ovarian cancer pathology is a tricky pathology as there are many many types. Just in case a second opinion on the pathology might be a good idea.
Avatar n tn I want to know if your pathology results are blocked from patient portal does it mean it is bad news?
571680 tn?1219584014 m assuming radioactive iodine pills and body scan followed by medication is in store for me. The good news is that the oncologist does not think (99%) that I have multiple myeloma, which was a possibility a month ago. So I have a lot to be thankful for; life is a trade-off. What can we do but try to look on the bright side, if we can find it. As I am typing this, I'm watching the program about Randy Pausch (The Last Lecture), who passed away last Friday.
Avatar f tn Hi there, It is very common to have pathology slides re-read for a second opinon. I know that LMP/Borderline diagnosis can be very difficult to diagnose and it is important to get a second opinion to make sure it is just that and not any type of the agressive ovarian cancers.
294425 tn?1288528395 Still waiting on the final pathology report. She said they are talking about letting her go home tomorrow, so that would be great. As long as the pain is under control, it's just nicer to be home - and you usually get more rest there too. It sounds like she will also be getting some great help once she's out of the hospital. Definitely keep up all the prayers and good thoughts :-).
Avatar f tn Hi Ladies, I hope you all don't mind me coming online and sharing my good news with you. I had my right ovary and a 10cm cyst removed by laparoscopy just over 2 weeks ago, and today I had the news from my doctor that it is benign! No cancer! I am just so happy I wanted to share it with everyone. I kept being reassured by various posters on here that over 95 % of ovarian cysts are benign, but it's just so good to get the actual confirmation.
Avatar n tn I am sure that the delay is not necessarily because of bad news...the waiting is always so stressful for so many of us, but that's the way it goes.Try to be patient since all the work that has to be done takes time...some get the results within 3 days while others take much longer, but whether soon or later it has nothing to do with good or bad news. You can certainly call her physician to find out, I don't see anything wrong in that.Best wishes for a good prognosis.
932747 tn?1247616635 My sugeon said bad and good news. The bad news is thething had cancer but the good news it was the good cancer.( yeah he actually said that.) After he saw my reaction he said thyroid cancer survivability was counted in decades not years. So now 2 RAI's later I feel like I have beaten it. I dont really mind the scars like I thought I would. For me my choice was easy. The throid dint work right anymore so I got rid of it and I am glad I did, For me I had alot of things in favor of a goiter.
Avatar f tn Thank you for giving us the news. I'm sure you're tired and sore but it's good to hear from you. I've never heard of Tordol. I was given Oxycodone which is nasty stuff - brain splitting headache and too dizzy to go to the bathroom alone. Yuck. Got rid of that stuff right away. Glad to hear you have something mild but effective. Now all you have to do is rest and get well. You can do that.
Avatar m tn More good news. Strength coming back into legs now as well as arm. Speech nearly back fully now.
359987 tn?1207673804 Sometimes it can take about a week on pathology. I'm so glad that you are home and doing well!! It's all uphill from here.
Avatar f tn Laws that restrict speech, particularly those that involve prior restraints on speech (and yes, actions can be construed as speech in certain circumstances) are subject to strict scrutiny, which is to say that they must be necessary to achieve a compelling government purpose. Restrictions on speech must be narrowly tailored, so that the least possible amount of speech is restricted.
Avatar m tn s thyroiditis have tongue issues that has/had an impact on your speech? I have the scalloped appearance to my tongue, a swollen feeling near the back and underneath the tongue which affects my speech. Did the thyroid meds fix the problem and if so, how long did it take?
Avatar f tn I had a US on my thyroid results came back and now he wants me to see a surgeon should I be worried my US says a 1.2 x 1.5 mixed echo nodule in the mid to upper pole right lobe with internal calcifications noted peripherally and incresed blood flow throughout it also says it is a complex vasculas nodule ?
Avatar f tn I am so glad to hear this good news. I understand it is tough to wait for that pathology. But, it does sound good! Thank heavens this surgery is behind you. I hope you get good news and can then just focus on having a great pregnancy! It does take awhile to heal. Without the pain meds, I can't even imagine it! You are a strong woman! :) Hang in there and be good to yourself!
Avatar f tn Not that I know of or plan on...lol! Freedom of speech!!!! Yeah!!!
