Avatar f tn less than two weeks later, I was told that they plan to discharge him on 1/31/08 and that he will need to go to a skilled nursing facility. The only help they offered in finding a facility is to go to www.medicare.gov and search nursing home comparisons. The issue I have is that none of the nursing homes actually mention rehab. My dad has a great attitude and is working hard at his therapy sessions.

1530342 tn?1405016490 ” The American Medical Association and AARP, the lobby for older Americans, have joined hospitals and nursing homes in fighting other proposals that would limit federal spending as a percentage of the gross domestic product. Members of Congress of both parties have introduced bills that would automatically cut spending across the board if such limits were about to be breached.
5807499 tn?1383275275 Unfortunately, in the state of Washington, I have to have a years experience in the field before I take my state boards. I came across a nursing assistant program through one of the main nursing homes in our area, & it'll get me certified as a nursing assistant. This will get my foot in the door for what I wanna do with my life and help me pay for my degree. My question is...what is it like doing nursing assistant stuff? I know you're required to lift patients at times...
585824 tn?1218401396 45 year old with no family history, did have 3 rounds of IVF, which I feel contributed to this cancer. Left breast Ca-IDC, Her2+, ER+,1cm tumor, grade II,Staging: pT1b, pNO(i-), pMX. My question is this, after 2 surgeries for +margins, I elected the 3rd surgery to be a double mastectomy. My first biopsy showed angiolymphatic invasion present, but the second surgery said "not identified". Is this possible to have invasion and then none?
Avatar f tn A nursing visit will be ok, but a nurse at your home for hours will NOT be cheap. Sounds like she should probably be placed in a Nursing home.
3493040 tn?1355296533 A reputable breeder never lets a puppy go before 8 weeks, many hold onto puppies for three to even up to six months. From 7 1/2 weeks to 8 1/2 weeks breeders evaluate the puppies to determine which puppies will go to show homes, which to pet homes and which to working homes. This one week in a puppy's life is the window period where the puppy will look the closest to what he will look like as an adult.
Avatar f tn I do hospice I'm not in a building unfortunately. I go to nursing homes, assisted livings and to patients homes.
Avatar f tn d want someone to rule out the possibilities. Speech therapy can help in more ways think you would think, and would be of no cost if he is in public schools.
Avatar m tn Nursing homes are necessary and fulful a definite need, but psychiatric treatment is not one of those needs. In the best nursing homes there is a shortage of staff. They treat "depression" with a chemical straightjacket. Furthermore, the diet in most homes is lacking and good nutrition is part and parcel of treatment for depression. Depression is best treated by tender loving care, holding, touching, caressing and by paying attention to a person.
Avatar f tn so my grandma is at this nursing home in huntington health and rehab. a worker there is giving out information about the resident (my grandmother) to outsiders; suchs as; people not working there, her kids, other people. this is going around the school about how my grandmother acts at a nursing home. and i want this to stop. is this illegal to give out information? tell me please. and if you get it from a website, type the web site in.
Avatar f tn I know ed is right about this....you carry this, you don't get rid of it. It lies dormant in your system. Nursing homes are rampant with it. There was a time that Dr.'s weren't supposed to admit residents to nursing homes if they were carriers. Hospitals hardly ever test any more for it because it is so rampant. There is even crossover from the animal population. I know because my daughter, a Registered Vet Tech, got it from the animal surgical center where she works.
Avatar n tn My step son has been urinating in his room both at night and during the day. The bathroom is right next door. He tries to hide it (ie urinating down a heat vent, behind his bed, etc.). When his father and I cover up a spot he finds a new spot to hide it. When asked about it he always starts out with " I didn't do anything." Then he does tell the truth. When asked why he did it he says he can't hold it. Obviously he has seperated parents.
Avatar n tn Where is everyone from?? And there due dates. I'm from Coventry in the UK.

5300020 tn?1376762379 We do have several good interactive homes in our city and places that are highly recommended. Obviously this has been really hard on us. And for the most part, I cant find anyone my age or stage in life having the same issues. Obviously with her young age we have many problems that most people witj ALZ dont come across. A home is the last place I want for my mom, which is why I have cared for her exclusively since 2008.
Avatar n tn He is probably on medicare, so speak to the department of social services, we use the Services to People with Disabilities here in my state. We have many possibilities here also for the older DS, A day care unit, nursing homes and residential facilities. Are there no group homes in your area? I am sorry about your sister, my daughter is also doing chemo right now for ovarian cancer, but her children are all adults now. You might also call the ARC in your area and ask for advice.
290018 tn?1240365868 Money is really tight right now since my husband does hardwood floors in homes and building is down. My husband is usually at work from 8am-6pm I stay home with our son ...I would like to find a job making 7 dollars an hour or more at night maybe from 6-12 or even 5-11 some time like that.
Avatar f tn There are a number of possible causes of your mother's problems, including depression, dementia (depression can cause something called 'pseudodementia' in the elderly, but your mother isn't really that old), addiction... strokes, other brain diseases...
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 13 weeks pregnant n currently work at two nursing homes as a Personal Support Worker. At the one nursing home I have been there over a year but the second one I just recently started n Im not past my probation period. When should I tell this employer Im pregnant?
410475 tn?1262942367 I agree with April. You are doing the best possible things for them. The mother has been living on her own, and can't live in a human home, so spay and release is best for her. If you can find indoor homes for the kittens, as April recommends, it will be better than placing them with rescue or humane society, as they have more kittens than they can find homes for. Your daughter is doing a good work.
Avatar m tn Next week specialist in NYC, an ENT oral surgeon and a pathology dentist and then I am going to go to an acupuncturist. I am very happy the scary teats are coming up negative but this is very scary and everyday I pray it will not get worse. How is your quest going? All my thyroid tests are in normal levels and I am on 50mcg of synthroid. Mayo clinic is last if nothing else comes up.
