293420 tn?1243142938 I think it would be great to have a Speech/Language Impaired forum. There are TONS of parents who post about their toddlers/children having speech and language issues, but they have to post on Parenting Toddlers 1-5. It would be great to have all of the posts in one place and be able to track one another's progress with their children and hear stories from other parents about their S/L impaired children. I'm an SLP and I would LOVE to have a forum for this.
Avatar f tn t seen that as a test for dysphagia in any MS forum. It seems more relevant to get a barium swallow or speech pathology assessment. I've had so many tests lately, and spent so much time at the clinic, that I'd like to avoid this if it's not necessary. Any thoughts?

Avatar f tn Dear cjleslie: Estrogen receptors and Progesterone receptors are often lumped into one category and if positive place the breast cancer into the category of hormone receptor positive breast cancer. This means that hormone therapy (the exact drug depends on the individual situation) will likely be recommended as part of the treatment plan. A Her-2 rating of 2+ suggests that the testing for this protein was done with a method called immunohistochemistry.
Avatar m tn Then there is the mechanical part of communicating our language and that is speech. Problems with speech can include just trying to get the words out, pronouncing the words, the tonal quality of our speech, using emphasis and inflection. Problems with speech can be from weakness or spasticity of the muscles of our mouths, throats and vocal cords. Or it can be with the way our brain tries to direct the speech.
Avatar n tn Did laproscopy and bagged and removed ovary without rupture. Pathology report came back with FIGO grade II endometrioid adenocarcinoma of ovary (ovarian cancer) Fallopian tube attached was benign. By CA125 was 121. I am going in for complete hysterectomy and debulking soon. Have first appt. with gyn/oncolog. on the 12th and then hopefully schedule surgery soon after. Am anxious about the wait time! I'm so afraid something may be spreading while I am waiting.
Avatar m tn I went to my speech therapy this morning. She had me saying ahhhhhh, ooooh, eeeeh and reading from what looked like a grade second reader. The she made a mistake. She said, "Tell me a little about yourself." Now, being a complete windbag I went into a dissertation that rocked her back on her heels. She kept asking me to take a deep breath as i talked.
Avatar n tn Hi, my sister had a Mastectomy on 15th of April, and got her final pathology report. Doctor told her that she doesn’t need any further treatment and also medication after seeing her final pathology report. But I did not see her GENE test result in her report. Please explain me her condition and will it be OK, if she doesn’t take any treatments and medications. What are the chances of re occurrence? I read couple of postings for false negative.
Avatar f tn So, around this time last year I experienced tingling in my left hand that lasted for a few days, coupled with extreme fatigue. Days later, I developed nystagmus only upon waking that lasted for about 10 minutes or so. That eventually went away after about a month. About six months later I had a severe headache that migrated to my right eye and lasted for over a week. Went to an optometrist, no optic neuritis.
Avatar f tn Check Myesthenia Gravis forum and get some information about it. Those are both symptoms of that disorder, but maybe you can find out more about it. I hope that you are feeling better. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Pathology report shows infiltrating mammary carcinoma, no special type, low combined histologic grade, Low proliferative rate with apocrine cytology, measuring at least 6MM in greatest extent (best measrued on P63 IHC Slide) Calponin and P63 show absence of myoepithelial cells int he neoplastic tubules, consistent with an invasive interpretation. Immunohistochemical studies for estrogen receptor and progesteron receptor are negative. My questions: No special type? What does that mean?
Avatar f tn You can still request that your slides be read by another Pathology Lab. If you aren't seeing a Breast Specialist I suggest that you do so and this might help clear things up for you. I'm sure you are more than aggravated at how things have gone in the past. I'm not sure why the ADH wouldn't show up on Excisional Biopsy unless the area was so small that it was removed by the previous needle procedure/ OR/ the Excisional Biopsy did not include the area of ADH.
Avatar n tn I finally got back my pathology report. How elevated is my risk? Do you think Tamoxifen is something I should consider? Diagnosis: Extensive Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH). Fibroadenoma involved by PASH.
438513 tn?1215703374 I saw that they doctor answered your question on your pathology (on the cancer forum). I hope that it helped.
Avatar n tn Please consult doctor or get the X ray cervical spine done to rule out cervical pathology. Avoid thick pillows too and also get your blood pressure checked.

1218873 tn?1300091216 t posted for a long time, I tried posting this on the respiratory disorders forum but then noticed it does not seem to be that active, I am hoping someone can help me. I suffer from asthma and sleep apnea along with undiagnosed neurological problems I take Pregabablin 600mg a day, Tiznadine 8mg a day, 20mg fluoxetine, 10mg nortriptilyne. I take symbicort & ventolin for asthma. I use a CPAP machine at night. But I have a problem that is really annoying me.
Avatar n tn Dear mdm6310, We cannot give specific treatment recommendations through this forum. Without access to the reports, pathology etc. it is impossible to make recommendations. It makes sense to follow through with the recommendations of pathology review - to confirm the findings, as there is such a difference between what you've reported as the surgeon's and 1st oncologist's evaluation of the pathology findings.
Avatar f tn Dear Joacs456 (using your nickname) Really very sorry to hear that. From your question it appears as though there is a pathology in brain--like aneurysm, hematoma etc due to injury. I am sure MRI must have been done after and before surgery. What do the reports say? Have you consulted a senior neurologist? A more detailed information about medical reports and Neurologist's opinion will be very helpful.
Avatar f tn Decided to have the lumpectomy to ensure only ALH. Had wire localization followed by surgery. Lumpectomy pathology report was DCIS, stage 0, grade 1, no necrosis, cribriform, size .2 cm, clear margins, ER+. Plan was to do 6 weeks radiation. But requested second opinion pathology report which came back as ADH, not DCIS. Breast surgeon says I have three choices - do nothing, tamoxifen or proceed with radiation. What should I do?
