He sent a referral to one of the best speech pathologists in the state.....and they called me back and told me my insurance does not cover ANY speech therapy and that he will need to get speech therapy through the local school district. My son is part of Early ON of Michigan and has other therapists through the ISD, and is waiting on an eval from a speech therapist there.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an excellent endocrinologist - or other doctor that gets the whole thyroid thing - in southeast Michigan, preferably the Detroit area? I hope to be getting a referral from my ENT next week, but I'd appreciate any other insight. Thanks!

I need to find a good doc in Michigan to look at adrenal function. I've been to cardiologist--heart is good, but my BP is going bonkers, and based on other things going on and all clear testing cardiac data, he agrees I need endocrinologist. I'm in metro Detroit area. I saw one 1-1/2 years ago when I suspected something was up, and she only checked my morning cortisol spit test, which is basically worthless without three more in the day, and only a basic thyroid panel.

I am in Western Michigan and there is really nothing here. I do have University of Michigan in Ann Arbor or Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Does anyone have any suggestions in Michigan or should I go to Mayo? I read that someone in Michigan went to someone in Grand Rapids and the doctor required the patient to commit to treatment with him before he would do a liver biospy....thats not acceptable to me...what if you do not like this doctor or the staff?

I am looking for an endocrinologist in Michigan that will prescribe T3 of any kind. I know this is a long shot but I will put this out there anyways. My PCP has prescribed it to me but knows nothing about it and I would like to be followed by someone who does.

I see that you live in Michigan and in the US by law all kids age 0 to 3 can be evaluated for any issues including speech. If he shows that he is delayed by a speech patholigist, they begin speech therapy. This includes much more than just speaking but eating, oral muscle stregnth, etc. And . . . drum roll, it is free! By law, early intervention is provided for kids who qualify.

I am a 28 yr old male presenting with acute heat fatigue, tremors, weight loss, loss of extremity sensations, visual disturbances and speech difficulties. Blood celll counts normal, ANA negative, sed rate normal, chem 12 panel normal. Evoked potentials showed abnormal responses. Positive l'herrteufe's sign(tilted head), babinski's abnormal reaction. Recently had MRI of Brain with multiplanar angles and T1/T2 weighting.

I had a risky encounter about 2 years back in Michigan, US. I got myself tested for HIV 8 weeks, 8 months and 21 months after the incident - all negative. In the 8 week later test, I also tested for Hepatitis, Syphilis and Herpes - all were negative. In the 21 month later test, I also tested for Syphilis and Heatitis - all negative. I could not get tested for Gonorrhoea and Chlymadia because the testing facility lost my urine samples. I am planning to get tested for them also.

From what I understand she is heading up a chiari clinic at Beaumont Neuroscience in Royal Oak, Michigan. Although I contacted her office at Michigan Head and Spine Institute in Southfield, MI. I did search her name on this site and some members have had surgery with her. Maybe another name to add to the list??

I live in Upper Michigan, my son has Bipolar II, Paranoid Schizophrenic Disorder, and Personality Disorder. He has been in and out of hospitals for the last 5 yrs. This time he is in State operated institute hospital. I talked to a case worker about a service dog for him, she said it sounded good. I don"t know what to do. I just want him home and happy. Does anyone know any foundations or anything? He has 2 more months left in the institute. All I do is cry. Thank you, good luck to all.
