Avatar f tn I'd first consider just adding another healthy meal. Most shakes doctors know about aren't particularly healthy. You can make your own, but to play it safe I'd try using rice protein as the base -- most shakes are either dairy or soy and they are both common allergens and many people don't tolerate them well.

As for being vegan, if you're going to do that you have to know more than others how to eat properly. You don't need animal foods to get protein -- nuts, seeds, and beans are all excellent sources of protein.
Avatar f tn t cut it. Protein shakes or ensure sounds like another goof idea. Real food is always better but at least you can get some good nutrients in and stave off hunger and dizziness and sickness with the bars or shakes. Good luck.
Avatar f tn m on a very strict nutritional program and typically eat two (6 ounce) servings of meat (chicken breast or eye of round) and 1-2 whey protein shakes per day. Different things I've read says that meat is to be limited to 5 ounces per day and no whey. Does anyone have any information on how our protein levels are reached with these limitations? I cannot eat nuts and one can only eat so many egg whites in a day.

Avatar f tn Very very very normal in your first trimester and even Into your second. There are ways around it, I found protein shakes worked really good for me. Because the smell or thought of meat made me sick. Plus you can mix in veggies like spinach and other veggies the contain.protein and it doesn't taste like them. Try and eat protein rich foods, like beans! I couldn't stomach eggs until my third trimester. Read up on protein high foods.. it doesn't have to be just meat and dairy.

Avatar m tn So when you start you should be doing 2X12 or 15 with light weight then gradually increase weight then go for 3X12 and when you feel comfortable you can go for mass building which is 2X6 or 7 with heavy weights. To know what is the appropriate weight you have to be barely able to lift the 6th or 7th repetition. If you have no problem doing all the 7 repetitions then it's time to add weight.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I'm allergic to milk and I need a protein drink for days I can't get down solid food. It would have to be completely milk free, not just lactose free. Even the ones that specifically say milk free on the label have milk in them. Lactose free usually still has milk poducts in it and typically whey comes from milk. Any one else with a milk allergy on peg/riba who can help me out here? Any suggestions on what to do when I can't eat?
