You can also get thrush, creamy white patches in the mouth and on the tongue. But, a yeast infection isnt an STI it's just an overgrowth of yeast. We all have it in our bodies (men and women alike) and it may depend on how your health is at the time, i.e if you consume alot of sweets, a diabetic, oral hygeine. Just to be on the safe side of things, avoid oral sex when she is experiencing an overgrowth...hopefully the woman is honest when she is experiencing an unbalance.
My tongue has been sore since before begining treatment. Now it's getting more sore and it has whitish/yellowish coat on it. I've shown dr's and none of them had said anything about yeast. However I posted on another forum and the majority of them said it sounds like yeast. But I don't have any vaginal itching or stomach problems. My LLMD said in his notes I had a slightly furred tongue. When I looked up furred tongue it said it can be caused from infections such as HIV or Syphillis.
I now notice I have a white tongue and keep getting yeast on my uncut penis. I read that yeast infections is a symptom of hiv. Would it be a smptom this soon or is it something that comes on in the later years. Worried sick.
Hi there, White spots on the tongue can be seen with infection or chronic inflammation of the surface of the tongue. Certain oral infections, like Candida yeast infections can cause a white tongue. Inflammation and whitening of the tongue can also occur due to smoking, dryness. Few white patches on the tongue, known as leucoplakia can be precancerous lesions. A clinical examination can confirm the exact cause of this white patch. See a doctor and get it examined. I hope it helps.

What causes a cronic sore tongue which looks like something has cut it along the tip and front sides? This discussion is related to cracked sides of my tongue.
My mom is undergoing chemo now for stage 2a breast cancer, she had 4 treatments of AC but then was highly allergic to taxol so is now having 4 treatments of taxotere. After her first taxotere friday 6/6 she had a sore tongue Saturday and Sunday developed a white milky tongue with an "iky" taste in her mouth, she waited 4 days and called the doc, they gave her an oral pill to take and it has not seemed to work.
Many Thanks for all your advice and concern related to some medication in which to ease the symptoms of a Swollen Tongue & sore tongue while on treatment for Hepatitis C. It appears i shall ask my hepatologist for "The Magic Mouthwash" also as the burning, stinging sensation can be very irritating, and the colour of the tongue can become very dark at times.Wish i could buy it over the counter so i could get it sooner.
I have developed a sore tongue. It feels like I burned it, but it is sore all over the surface of the tongue and it has been sore for at least two weeks. Yesterday I felt a cold sore developing on my lip. My question, is this related to my parkinson's disease and if so what can I do to alleviate it?
On the other hand, you might have gotten thrush ( a yeast infection) from the doxycycline you took. If so, this is not an STD and not a sign of HIV. Ask your doctor to take a look. Finally, believe your tests. You were not at risk for HIV to start with. The 6 week HIV test you took effectively proves that you were not the first person to get HIV from oral sex.
I have been experiencing the same sore tongue problem on and off, I am on week 14 of interferon/riba. I find if I am able to bush my teeth right after eating it makes a difference, if I don't it flairs up. I just started using biotene toothpaste and so far my mouth seems happier. Rinsing with baking soda/water 3 to 4 times a day seems soothing and provides some relief, I read that it can help with thrush.
5 days later I got a sore throat and my lymph nodes in my neck were a bit swollen but NO FEVER. So at this point all my research points me towards yeast infection. 2 weeks later I noticed lumps on the back of my tongue & it was coated w/ some whiteness. It could have been there the whole time but this is when I noticed. I think I have a yeast infection on my penis and in my mouth.
So, in theory, I would say yes, a yeast infection could get that severe. But I am no doctor. I'm just using my experiences with yeast to come to that conclusion. Has your doctor never prescribed diflucan or flucanazole? A few doses of that may help. And then some external cream for the itching, burning, and blisters. Asking your doctor couldn't hurt.
This may sound crazy, but the only time I seem to get a yeast infection is after receiving oral sex. If my boyfriend goes down 3 or 4 nights in a row I start developing one. I was just wondering if anyone else has expierencied this, or knows if there could possibly be something in his mouth causing this. (Obviously I would notice and not let him go there if is something I could see) Any suggestions would be great.
Or.....your partner can have a yeast infection and you two keep passing it back and forth, have him checked too.
And primary syphilis (the initial infection) can't cause a sore tongue within hours. Finally, syphilis is very rare in escorts (expensive female sex workers by appointment). For what it's worth, herpes wouldn't behave this way, and in any case you already have HSV-2 and can't catch it again, and you were further protected by your valacylovir treatment. A non STD possibility is that you have an oral yeast infection (thrush).
It sounds like a yeast infection. I'm not a doctor though. I had an early yeast infection back in May. Let me know.
why is my tongue sore, numb and tingling and ulcers on my mouth all of a sudden
5 months ago I developed a large canker type sore near my gums. Now for the past two months I have had herpes only on the tongue. My tongue has gotten very swollen at times, has white blisters which make it painful to eat and drink. The swelling and blisters usually last a week or two and then go to a different area of the tongue. In the past 2.
Your ENT hasn't ordered a CT scan? As for tingling of the tongue, I think this could either be due to a nerve, thrush (oral yeast infection) or irritation from toothpastes/mouthwashes. As for anxiety, I truly think getting out frequently (if not daily)for a nice, 30 minute walk somewhere non-stressful would really give you a boost in the right direction.
After having written everything here, my rational answers would be that I may be suffering from a severe fungal, bacterial or yeast infection that has all the symptoms of Herpes and should get on antibiotics as soon as possible. But I'm not a doctor. And I still feel the burn in my loins as well as SHE HAD HERPES!! I was great before that.
He gave me steriods for the pain, and my orange tongue went away. In January, my tongue turned orange again and my throat was sore, but there were no blisters. There's no cure for coxsackie and it's lays dormant in the body, and it tends to come back during times of stress.
For no reason my tongue will beome VERY sore. It also gets a white coating on it. This has been happening for many years. Long before I started taking any medications. Each doctor/dentist I have told this to tells me it is nothing to worry about. I'm not worried, but it really does hurt. Any suggestions or answers? Thank you in advance.

The third area – regional analysis Different areas of the tongue represent different areas of the body; one area of the tongue represents the functioning of the nervous system and the immune system.
With apology, the medical advice on this forum is limited to STDs, not to symptoms, diagnosis, or treatment of other kinds of genital infection such as yeast. I cannot say whether or not your yeast infection has cleared up or whether the redness of your penile skin is now normal. These are issues for your dermatologist.
ok for the past month I have had a sore, swollen throat. At first I hought it was just a sore throat cause my sinus have been acting up. Well, the past few weeks I have had bad breath (I brush my teeth(front, back, top and tongue) I have also noticed some smooth spots on my tongue (they change day to day, size and shape) than I realized some little red spots on my tongue with white rings around them, I have also been feeling naucious a lot, now for the past couple of days my gums have been sore.
Some medications can cause this as can a throat infection, but you would have a sore throat too. Drink plenty of fluids. It looks like a food/gastric related problem. Would you know if the swab was checking for fungal problems (thrush) if not it may be worth having that done. For a home remedy against thrush in the mouth - eat plain natural yogurt.
no i have notice some big white bump on the back of my tongue that hurt and it feels like something stuck there i have had fevers between the dates above and now i believe i also have a yeast infection i don't know whats going on...
