sore tongue when eating

Is anyone else having any issues with their mouth? My tongue is sore and it appears to have tiny sores on the sides of it. I also have a metallic numb feeling\taste. I know it sounds weird but its the best description I can give. It is starting to hurt at times when I am eating.

I have gotten a few little sores on my tounge, and a pretty bad canker sore...makes eating not so much fun, sometimes i have to work harder at eating anyway cause I just dont' feel like it...chewing becomes a chore sometimes, ha... But mine have gone away in a few days though, just figured it was part of what was to be expected...

I've had a sore tongue for quite a while now and it has been worrying me. I have whitish spots in my tongue and they burn a little bit. It's very uncomfortable. I thought I could have thrush and when I went to the doctor, she didn't think I have thrush and it looks ok, with just a few irritated spots. She gave me a mouth rinse to make it better, but it actually makes it hurt even more, and it usually bothers me more on the side and tip of my tongue.

I have been experiencing the same sore tongue problem on and off, I am on week 14 of interferon/riba. I find if I am able to bush my teeth right after eating it makes a difference, if I don't it flairs up. I just started using biotene toothpaste and so far my mouth seems happier. Rinsing with baking soda/water 3 to 4 times a day seems soothing and provides some relief, I read that it can help with thrush.

All week Ive had a sore under my tongue...Its really small and when i brush it become like a tiny crator. It hurts really bad when i eat anything. But especially when i eat Anything with salt. Ive been brushing it, rinsing with Hydrogen Peroxide and Listerine. After rinsing the pain goes down but it flares back up in an hour or so. I cant even fully rest my tongue in my mouth cuz when it touches my teeth or anything in my mouth it stings. How do I get rid of it?

It could either be a cold sore or a canker sore, both hurt. Try swishing some hot salt water around your tongue for a few minutes, this might help.

I have not started treatment yet, but my tongue is swollen and feels like it is cracked. This will be my 3rd time to do treatment in the last 20 years, but I don't recall the sore tongue. Any input will be appreciated.

I didn't have a swollen tongue, but I did lose my sense of taste for about four weeks. I also have problems with my saliva glands which started 6 months after RAI. I had swelling when eating, on one or both sides. I don't have swelling in the glands any more, but I don't produce enough saliva now, so eating dry foods is difficult. By the following morning I started feeling a sore throat. I immediately started gargling listerine when I got home. In the following few days the sore throat got worse and I got a low grade fever (100.3). I started taking tylenol and eating soup. My throat kept getting worse and I was feeling really sick.
