I have not started treatment yet, but my tongue is swollen and feels like it is cracked. This will be my 3rd time to do treatment in the last 20 years, but I don't recall the sore tongue. Any input will be appreciated.
Hi! I got white tongue and sore throat after an oral sex encounter with a new girl, we used condom so I only got symptoms on my mouth. The point is that I went to some Doctors and they checked to Candidiasis but it was negative. Also negative to HIV or syphilis.
The Doctors didn´t give any importance to my problem but I still thinking after 10 months what it could be, because I am pretty sure it happens after my encounter.
I too discovered a sore on the side of my tongue on Monday. ( today is Wednesday ) it is large and really red irritated and it looks black and blue around the edge. There is also one spot that is black and blue on the end of my tongue. I do have a bad tooth or so on that side that need attention and I had the flu over the past weekend and was vomiting quite forcefully.
Have you ever heard of such a thing?
I am really scared right now.

Tests: I had P24 test at day 15 which came back negative with normal white cell count. I also had Antibody test after 8.5 weeks which came back negative. However I am concerned that my immune system may be weakened in this period due to surgeries and antibiotics.
Questions: does surgery and antibiotics weaken the immune system?
It has been 9 months now and I still have all the symptoms, white tongue, muscles ache, head ache, slight sore throat, but I never got a rash or fever, nor swollen lymph nodes. But, when I first went through my symptoms I did break out in zits all over my arms and noticed sun spots on my arms and hands.
aside from normal flu symptoms that I assume are due to common cold, I developed mild but persistent sore throat 3 weeks after exposure which has been continious up to now. After a possible exposure nearly six months ago my symptoms persist and getting worse. Particularly mouth problems including sore tongue coated in white or yellow gunk every day, small reddish lumps at back of toungue, dry mouth at night, slimy lips and just general discomfort. This has been going since February!! The pain in my neck under jaw line has been persistent since december and it hurts to swallow now.
They start and take about 10-15 days to heal and typically occur in same areas, back of tongue and tip of tongue. My tongue also feels hot and burns. My dr said she was pretty sure it was herpes virus that caused my cold sore, so i guess spread to the tongue. I did a swab and it came back normal but my dr said thats bc the sores had been there for several days and the swab would need to be done in the first 48hrs. Problem is, in the first two days theres nothing really there.
In regards to the flat spots on your tongue and the red burning sensation you've had on it as well, you might look into the possibilty of that being glossitis. I myself have a form of glossitis called 'geographic tongue' which is where red flat patches appear on the tongue then go away. It's caused by stress and is a harmless condition. Sometimes certain foods can trigger it as well.
I am currrently suffering with a sore tongue for about 2-3 months. It feels sometimes like after you've had a hot drink, a bit numb, and taste is affected. I am getting red tiny dots at the front right which are a bit sore. Also a couple of darker dots next to this spot.
I have pain under my right jaw where the glands are and if I press there it feels like it's connected with the tongue.

Hi...I really appreciate all the work that you do on this forum as it's very helpful. I've now had a sore throat for 3 months post my possible exposure. I also have ongoing stomach pains in my gut (cramping) and red bumps that don't go away on my stomach. I started the sore throat about 2 weeks after exposure and it has not gone away and the stomach issues have kept coming. I've had a colonoscopy and an endoscopy and blood work, all ok...no issues.
