Common Questions and Answers about Sore tongue allergy

sore

But I keep getting these sore patches on my tongue, the back of my tongue hurts too. I also notice patches on the sides of my tongue and on the inside of my cheeks but like that day at the Dr's they were not there because I had brushed my teeth. My immune system as far as I know is fine, so I don't get why the thrush is bothering me so much. I have recently had bloods taken and all was normal apart from a slight low white cell count.
I have now suffered from a sore tongue, sore and dry mouth.burning sensation in my nose and shortness of breath for about 9 months now.Antibiotics and anti viral drugs have been tried without any success.
What causes a cronic sore tongue which looks like something has cut it along the tip and front sides? This discussion is related to cracked sides of my tongue.
However, there is no stomach pain. I also tend to feel better once I have eaten. I have a sore tongue with an inflamed tip, and tasting food is difficult. This has lasted for at least several weeks. I've had more difficulty passing stools for about a month now. I pass every other day on average, mostly small hard amounts in pieces, but sometimes a large single yellowish-brown stool. Another issue I have is that it feels constantly like I'm having bladder pressure or fullness.
I was also worried about it being herpes but I have never had a cold sore in my life. My tongue symptoms could be geographic tongue but would this cause other mouth symptoms? and is it just coincidence it happened at time of tonsillitis. Im really at a loss as to what it could be? Any ideas? My dr. doesnt seem to be concerned but its bothering me!
Third, no STD is a likely cause of sore throat or geographic tongue. Gonorrhea can cause sore throat, but usually does not; most oral gonorrhea is entirely without symptoms. I can't comment on a "vaginal" odor to your mouth or breath, except that any bacterial overgrowth can cause similar odors, and that's the source of most female genital odors.
why is my tongue sore, numb and tingling and ulcers on my mouth all of a sudden
Hi, You should get a review with your doctor for your symptoms. You would need to ask your doctor to rule out viral fever - a rash with fever and joint pains points towards a viral cause. What is your age? Let us know what your doctor advises. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Iron deficiency and Vit B6 or pyridoxine deficiency may also be associated as the tongue swells on a bad day. The other possibility is allergy to some food preservative or to propylene glycol which is found in some food items, drugs and cosmetics. Maybe your dental paste has it. Check this out. Possibility of any drugs causing it or dry mouth, oral cancer, damage to the lingual nerve, and diabetes are the other causes for a burning tongue and if nothing else is found these should be explored.
Boy am I glad I found this site! My 12 y.o. son started having bouts with tongue swelling at night. It recurs if he fails to continue daily Allegra. We've tested everything and nothing stands out. He has seasonal allergies, cat, dust and mold allergies but not significant. We thought it may be the Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Toothpaste which has been reported to cause the same symptoms. We changed to Aquafresh and same results.
no other noticable symptoms- does not seem uncomfortable, eats normally, tongue and mouth seem fine. she's been eating apples for days with no reaction so i don't think it's apples- it's definitely the cinnamon. I have been reading up on cinnamon allergies and it seems people either have simple dermatological reactions or people are so severely allergic that they can't go within 100 yards of a cinabon or scented candle without passing out. i am also reading that this is a common allergen.
However, this also could be due to a lack of B vitamins, now, don't laugh, if you do not get enough of the B vitamins, one of the symptoms is a sore tongue, and if left untreated by not taking them, it can get worse. I would try taking a good, food grade B vitamin complex, also, get some Brewers yeast, it can be obtained at any health food store, this is chock full of all the B vitamins, amino acids and other important nutrients and minerals. It taste good too, I love it on cottage cheese.
This was followed by a numb or swollen sensation in my tongue, and my face felt weird, particularly around my jaw (not on my neck). The wierdness could be best described as a numb sensation, the same feeling you get when a dentist injects your jaw a freezing mechanism. My eyes also started to water and I mucous came from my nose. Perhaps a slight sore throat, did not feel feverish. After a few hours, the breathing became normalized and feeling came back to my face, and tongue.
I'm interested in what you say because now I have a huge canker sore under my tongue and my last TSH was .2. I asked my doc about it being so low because 3 weeks prior to that test it was .36. So, it's getting lower but he didn't seem concerned, just says to stay on my synthroid dosage because he feels like the level is good for cancer supression. I wonder if I'm going hypo? I don't really have any symtoms of it, I feel pretty good.
Was on Plavix and had difficulty breathing (doc feels could be bronchial spasms from med) after 15 months stopped and breathing was improving, only to have titanium implant put in 4 days before they realized could be titanium allergy. Need to be tested...Melisa the only one that does it. Does anyone have information on getting blood/paperwork sent to them. Impossible to reach them to get this done. I am just about at my wits end. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, M.
He gave me steriods for the pain, and my orange tongue went away. In January, my tongue turned orange again and my throat was sore, but there were no blisters. There's no cure for coxsackie and it's lays dormant in the body, and it tends to come back during times of stress.
To give you a little background I am a 25 yr old guy and since about last november I have had something my dentist calls geographic tongue which is where the taste buds go away and it has a little white line around it usually on the edges of my tongue and I just thought it was strange that out of the blue all of a sudden this appeared.
Last Saturday, I woke up with a terribale sore throat, kinda scratchy and sore. I also had a headache... The night before I had smoked a cigarette for the first time since last March, I quit smoking in March of 2006. I have allergy problems and since I had quit smoking, I stopped taking my allergy meds everyday or at all sometimes, cause I just don't need them everyday. Well, it's rained a lot and between that and the cigarette I passed those symptoms off as allergy symtoms.
Does this sound like a typical cold sore, something bacterial or allergy related? I have been under some pretty intense stress lately.
I have had a sore throat for over 3 to 4 months. I have tried all kinds of allergy meds, nothing works. I also have flim with that. Yes I am a smoker. Sometimes I have a hard to swallowing and now my tongue started feeling numb. I am afraid I may have throat cancer.
A few days ago I noticed a flesh colored bump under my tongue that almost looked like a bubble. It was sore and I kept playing with it with my tongue and eventually I felt it pop and juices came out of it. I thought that was strange and then within the last couple of days more flesh colored bumps appeared under my tongue. (I'm not sure how to describe the area right.. Not ON the tongue but in the area under it behind the teeth and gums). Only one small area feels sore and the others don't.
My tongue also develops a sore. Strips of my tongue are missing (3 times now). In addition, my tongue also gets swollen making it hard to talk. I don't know if it is related or not but I also get headaches every evening. My tongue feels better in the morning when I wake up and gets progessively worse throughout the day. It also appears to go in cycles with the end of the cycle being the loss of actual pieces of my tongue.
I woke up this morning and took my vit b12 under the tongue and also a multi vitamin. Within 1/2 hr I felt nausea and vomited then I felt my skin on fire. I was so red like a sunburn sore and had hives all over me. Is it possible to be allergic to the vit. I have taken the both in the past but just started taking them again the last few days.
I feel like my spine and brain are burning, I have burning pain down both arms,, down my neck and on my torso. My tongue is sore and my lips and nostrils are burning. A trip to the er and 50 mg of prednisone made me feel crazy. I am about two weeks post blood patch. While the redness is gone around the injection site, I still have horrible burning in my spine and head. My neurologist just shrugged his shoulders and said huh". like he didn't believe me. Pease help.

Recently i've had a sore throat I just can't get rid of. I've tried allergy medications but it won't stop. There is a lot of post nasle drip. Where I work there is a lot of mold, so that might be the reason. With the sore throat I've noticed a couple of weird spots on my tongue, and the back of my throat. You can see the images of the tongue here: http://www.getupandgonews.com/pics/pic.jpg http://www.getupandgonews.com/pics/pic3.jpg http://www.getupandgonews.com/pics/pic4.
I started getting a sore throat about a month ago and it hasn't really gone away. My tongue was feeling tingly and itchy for a while and I had a hunch and decided to stop drinking lime juice and my tongue felt better. However, it continued to feel slightly swollen. Its been about three weeks now since I first started feeling symptoms and they've progressed. My tongue feels very swollen constantly and there's pain and itching at the back of it and into my throat.
2 years ago a whole new set of symptoms emerged, in my mouth with burning, swelling of tongue and tissues of my cheeks/lips and sores on roof of mouth and under my tongue. Included in the symptoms is sore throat and dry mouth. Last year my lip was biopsied for autoimmune (mother died of sarcoidosis...other autoimmune disorders run in family). The results showed "suggestive of sjogren's" but I've seen 3 rheumatologists and there is doubt in that diagnosis.
The right side of my tongue where the scars are located. First my tongue turns a terrible white, dry color, and then I get a bright red bald patches over the entire right side of my tongue. It is absolutely disgusting. The reason why I am starting to become more concerned about it is because, aside from the way it looks, it use to be that I would get the patches every couple of months. Maybe three times a year, for a couple of days.
About 2 weeks ago I had a blister on the rim of my bottom lip. I immediately thought it was a cold sore but had never had one before and haven’t changed my sexual partner in over a year so was skeptical. It came on like a mosquito bite; a slight itch and burning but only lasted about two hours. Also, it was not a cluster but one single welt. After the two hours in its place was a slight discoloration maybe a bruise. Two days later I had another one on the rim of my upper lip.
