One week after the encounter, I developed a sore throat with white spots on the back of my throat and tonsils. I ran a slight fever, and my throat became swollen for the next couple of days. I seen two different doctors during this viral infection and both called it a case of pharyngitis and I was given some steroids to help with the inflammation. The infection completely cleared in one week. My question is if I could have contracted oral herpes from the girl?

How are you? Most cases of sore throat can indeed be due to a viral infection, such as part of flu or colds. With rest and plenty of fluids, this usually subsides within a week. Recurrent sore throat, on the other hand, can be due to allergic reaction, irritation, smoking or from infectious mononucleosisis. Hi, I had a bacterial throat infection: including sore throat, fever, headache and body aches.....This was before x-mas, I was given Augmentin, which pretty much cleared it up, except my cough and congestion.... After x-mas The cough got worse and fevers, tongue ulcers and head and body aches came again, my Dr. said this time it's viral, so it would have run its coarse, it's been almost a month and still hasn't cleared up at all.
It appears in the alternate days, one day after the other. I had a sore throat for the first time in the recent times on 13th of last month and it was there for 4-5 days and it cured without any treatment. Could someone please tell me the first symptoms that someone would experience with a primary infection of Hsv1 in the gentile area. Will sore throat, body weakness and sweating all over be a symptom or does this sound more like a viral infection. It's only been 8days since oral sex, with no gentiles symptoms yet, just the symptoms I stated above.

ve got all the same symptoms and now sinus problems on top of that - really sore throat, tickly cough and mucus coming out of throat and nose (often bloody mucus from nose).
What is going on!?!? Do my symptoms sound similar to anyone else's? I can't keep going back to doctors as I never get anywhere with them. I just don't seem to be getting any better though?

a red throat with spots is suggestive of a viral infection. It is your throat. therefore it is a viral infection of a throat. A viral sore throat.
Your temperature is not a fever. People with recently acquired HIV have fevers well above 38 degrees and many other symptoms. your symptoms are not suggestive of HIV.

What other symptoms were present? Sore throat may indeed be caused by viral or bacterial infection. The more common is viral in nature and symptoms such as caused by the inflammation may resolve after a few days of rest and symptomatic relief. Other symptoms that may be present with such infection include nasal congestion, ear pain, headache, fever and dizziness. Rest, increased fluid intake, decongestants, gargle and lozenges may help provide relief.
I went to my primary care, after a neurological exam as well as examining my throat she determined it was viral and that was the cause of my headaches. My throat is now hurting and I can see sores on the inside of my mouth and throat, I have a low grade fever and am a bit tired. Has anyone else experienced these headaches with an HSV1 outbreak? Anything will help, just trying to figure it out. Thanks in advance.
