Sore throat under chin

Common Questions and Answers about Sore throat under chin

sore

I have a fleshy type mass underneath my chin that started 7 days ago after a terrible sore throat. The sore throat is gone, but the mass isn't. It is painful to the touch, and is causing pain down the right side of my neck, below my lymph node. It's causing pain when I chew and also when I turn my head. The mass is almost 3 inches in length, and makes me look like I have a double chin. Any ideas?
I noticed a knot under my chin it seems to be the size of a quarter and it is very tender to the touch. I have not been sick and I have no infections that I know of... so I am wondering what the hick this could be... Any help?
Re: lump under chin, I would go straight to the dr. get a blood test for EBV and be referred to an ENT. If you live in the country go to the city, don't mess around with this or wait too long. It's always better to be safe than sorry. this if speaking from experience. I pray you'll be okay.

It also hurts under my tongue when I swallow but not like a strep throat/sore throat pain. My adams apple area feels normal and my glands are not swollen at all. Ears are fine and there are no other symptoms. Right away I was thinking I pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve...but as i said above, I have panic disorder so of course, I think I'm dying.
2) If so, can a sinus/post nasal drip sore throat be a sign of ARS? 3) If so, could the sinus/post nasal drip sore throat be the only ARS symptom, or would there also be other more classical symptoms such as fewer, rash etc? 4) Could there be any way ARS symptoms would last for almost 4 months (and counting)?

My tonsils were removed 20+ years ago. I have been on an antibiotic for 4 days now for some type of bacertial infection that showed up in a nasal swab. My body temperature is 76.5F. I had a flu/H1N1 shot in Oct. or early Nov. Do I need to see someone over the weekend for treatment? P.S. I had open heart surgery in July 2010 to replace the mitral valve.
It is important to note that at the same time the blisters were forming, I had a severe sore throat and canker sores that developed in my mouth. She put me on mupirocin cream and suggested I start back up on doxycycline (which i was previously taking for mild acne), she said it would help clear it up.
I felt okay after some time but when my wisdom tooth started growing, the gum was dark red(the gum above the wisdom tooth) and i noticed somekind of boil in the place of extraction, extra bump(swollen lymph) in between my right cheek and jaw, almost where the tooth was extracted and then i noticed other two growing under my chin(one sub-mandibular and the other one, on the upper right side of my throat). Dear Doctor Thank you for this service. My story is, that I had sex with a CSW from Thailand (working in Denmark in a Thai Massage clinic) 4 months ago, and the condom broke. I noticed a small sore/cut just below the penis head afterwards. I asked her if she had any deseases, and replied that she did not, and that she had been tested 3 months ago. She sounded very sincere about it. 17 days after exposure, I developed a mild "on/off" sore throat in the left side of the throat.

A lil over two weeks ago I got a minor sore throat. I was out in the cold with my family so I just assumed it was dry from the cold. The next morning my throat was still hurting but was slightly worse. My son was sick as well so my boyfriend and I took him to Urgent Care. While we were there my throat was getting worse but it was only hurting on one side and I felt a lil congested and my nose was stuffy so I decided to get checked out as well before I got worse.

The initial sore throat, 3 years ago, started out feeling like a normal sore throat from a cold, the only difference is that I had a swollen gland directly under my chin in the bottom of my jaw that I have never had before. I have had no other health issues, I am very active, and have noticed no decrease in performance. If anything, in the past three years I have had fewer colds than normal and no serious sore throats.
today i woke up with a swollen throat i would say between the thyroid gland and right under the chin. it found it weird because its only swollen on the left side. when applied pressure, i feel pain. what can this be from? i have no allergies and have a good diet.today i woke up with a swollen throat i would say between the thyroid gland and right under the chin. it found it weird because its only swollen on the left side. when applied pressure, i feel pain. what can this be from?

I have noticed that I have had a frequent sore throat over the recent weeks... months. I am also experiencing soreness in the back of my mouth. The symptoms in the back of my mouth have been most prominent shortly after waking up. Any ideas?
that didnt work and my throat was still irritating me. I read that both medications i was taking side effects may cause sore throat and since i was taking both maybe it made it worse or something.
I actually thought I was getting like strep throat, it was not burning or sore in that manner, but had that feeling of starting to swell and was a bit weird to swallow... I could swallow, only issue was taking my supplements several at a time, could taken them 2 at a time, but not 3 or 4 like normally. I described it to my husband as my throat feeling thick.... So guessing this might be a new MS issue huh... just when I thought I was in the clear for new symptoms!!
MOST OF THE TIME IT IS IN THE BACK OF MY throat BEHIND MY TOUNGE WHERE I IMAGINE MY TONSILS TO BE. SOMETIMES, HOWEVER, I GET A TIGHTNESS IN THE FRONT OF MY throat under MY chin ON BOTH SIDES OF MY ESPHAGAS.( I CAN'T SPELL EITHER BUT YOU PROBABLY CAN'T HELP THAT) THIS HAS GONE ON FOR TWO YEARS. I HAVE MENTIONED IT TO MY FAMILY PHYSICIAN AT MY YEARLY PHYSICAL AND HE DID NOT SEEMED TOO CONCERNED.
I have like a little lump under my skin just under my chin kinda near my throat. It is not sore or anything, i just don't know what it is. It kind of tickles every so often (not totally sure if thats from the lump or something else) I suck my thumb (I know..) which i think could have something to do with it... It is smaller than a pea, hard, and does not protrude but if i tilt my head back and run my fingers over it i can feel it.

I DID ONLY MENTION IT WHEN ASKED AND SINCE THE PROBLEM IS USUALLY MINOR I REALLY DID NOT MAKE IT SOUND LIKE ANY PROBLEM.
This time it happened much quicker, starting on the right lower eye, then moved to the left. The right under eye is very red, sore and dry. It feels so rough to touch. I have not worn make up today and have only applied vaseline and aqeous cream. I haven't changed any toileteries or make up in the last 2 months. I am not sure what it could be? I don't think it is eczema, but believe it could be an allergic reaction to something. I can't seem to work out what it could be?
Recently I found a small soft lump in my throat under my chin at my jaw line. I have had a sore throat and then I notice the lump. My sore throat went away but the lump is still there. Sometimes I have pain in my throat near the lump but it only lasts a second and then goes away. It's on the right side of my face, nothing on the left. Should I be alarms or does it just sound like swollen lymph node?? Help!!
