throat

It bothered me so much that I took a flashlight to my throat and realized it was my large uvula! Try not to focus on your throat or swallowing. The more you focus on it, the more aware of it you become and thus starts the cycle. Easier said, than done, I know.
My husband has GERD and often feels like he has something in his throat, and diffuclty swallowing. The acid may have created a sore spot that has swollen.
My daughter is still continuing to have the same problems, thick mucous, feels like choking on it when swallowing, has sore teeth as well. She had another CT scan of the Sinuses done, and this CT showed, stenosis of the frontal recesses and maxillary ostia with a right nasal deviated septum. Is this something to be really concerned about??? It seems like a very abnormal CT scan to me, but our ENT says it just means she has a sinus infection??? Can all of this be causing her problems??
I am 2 weeks post op for TT and my throat is sore...even to the point of swallowing anything solid or liquid. I feel like my neck is too weak to support my head. I have been using a u-shaped pillow to support my neck somewhat. I was chewing some bubble gum last night...and my jaw, neck and throat are muscular sore...wonder if it is related?
Speaking of swallowing and throats... today I've had what feels like a sore neck and a sore jaw. I was eating noodles earlier, and I was having problems with making sure the food went down my throat instead of my esophagus. My tongue is sore, too, at the base.
I know that with chiari some people have problems swallowing. I don't have that issue. But everytime my neck gets extremely bad and I have an awful headache (like today) I get a horrible sore throat. I was just wondering if anyone else expirences this or knows of anyone who has. Thanks, any suggestions on how to make it feel better would be greatly appreciated.
I had LPR, a constant sore throat and globus sensation. I also had trouble swallowing. Food just seemed to stick. The anxiety didn't help any. Just try to calm down and keep taking your meds. I know its eaiser said than done but getting upset will make it so you can't eat at all. I know it happened to me. But, that part of it got bette for me and I was able to eat again in a few months.
i do know it could be the cause of the constant sore throat .most people who have constant problems with sore throat and other realated isues because of tonsils usualy have them removed. they say it is a fairly simple operation that causes minor disconfort for a short period of recovery time, but this is a disision only you and your doctor can make.wishing you well.
I have had a sore throat on the left side only for about 3 months. Went to my family physician and tested for the usual problems. All came back negative. Went to a specialist, gave me some muscle relaxers and tested my swallowing. Nothing, the soreness persists. Any ideas for what to test for next?
She then put a mask over my nose and mouth. I woke up with the worst sore throat of my life. My throat was blood red and it hurt to talk, cough, breath and swallow. I've had strep throat many times and the pain was nothing like that. I gargled with warm salt water, took throat lozenges, etc. and nothing helped. Woke up the next morning and my sore throat was completely gone but could barely talk and my my jaw was sore and bruised. I still have severe larangitis four days later.
Do you have any indigestion or heartburn? Any other symptoms going on in your mouth? I had a sore throat for a couple months and a feeling of a lump in my throat with difficulty swallowing. Turned out to be acid reflux. Not sure if that's what you have, but thought I'd mention.
A few days after I finished them, I had a mild sore throat for a couple of days, then it subsided. Now again, about a week later, I've developed a very painful sore throat, feels like razor blades when I swallow. It started day before yesterday and is worsening day by day, hour by hour really. I just took some ibuprofen for it and am drinking tons of water and ginger ale. My throat looks normal, not red or inflamed, no white patches.
Hi, like your doctor has suggested your symptoms could be due to a throat infection. Throat infections are most probably streptococcal or a viral infections. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain. Ensure to complete your antibiotic course and do salt water gargles for further relief from your symptoms. Take care. Regards.
Have made an appointment to have that checked out. Could a problem with one's thyroid create a sore throat? Swallowing is very painful!
came down with severe sore throat, swallowing problems By than I started to get a bit scared and searched the web for any STD’s and of course I found that sore throat was a big symptom in both STD’s and HIV. 2 June 2008: went to my doctor and because I have a history of sore throat she gave me Augmentin 825. Had an HIV DUO test at 3 weeks = negative 9 June 2008: no improvement, went to ENT who thought it were my tonsils.
I hope this is helpful! To everyone posting about swallowing problems, I too have experiences with swallowing problems. Seems like I can't even keep water down at times without it refluxing as hot burning liquid all the way to the back of my mouth. Cannot lie down or even lean back a little bit when this is going on, or else it feels like I'm going to vomit.

It's a frustrating condition that causes an almost constant sense of irritation in the back of the throat and in addition to increasing the likelihood of infections and sore throats, it can add a lot of stress to your dog's life that could cause him or her to act out in unusual and unwanted ways. The number of potential causes of canine post nasal drip is vast.

I have a slightly different problem. I too frequently have problems swallowing when I eat too fast. The food seems like it gets stuck and doesn't want to go down. Usually a beverage will help get things moving, then I'm all right. The other day I started to come down with a cold. Instead of the usual sore throat, I had the feeling I was being choked. I didn't have trouble breathing, just swallowing. The saliva felt as if it wouldln't go down very easily.
First, you will be intubated so talk to your anesthesiologist first about the nodule making your throat sore and see if they can use a smaller size tube. You shouldn't have a scratchy throat. Second is the actual surgery pain. What you will experience is pain in the muscles of your neck (the front muscles have to be cut to access the thyroid).
I dont have a sore throat though. It almost feels like an air bubble caught in my throat. During the time I have had these symptoms I have also been waking up with a sore, stiff neck. The soreness is pretty much located right at the base of the neck on the top of my back. I dont have a lot of heartburn mostly just belching and acid reflux. I have had a little bit of trouble talking too. I suffer from anxiety and depression and wanted to know if those could be causes of this weird sensation?
I don't know if this is a symptom or not, but I am having some weird trouble swallowing - like my body or throat forgot how to sometimes. Is this a sign of pregnancy? (I am also off my psychiatric medications for tourettes and anxiety - that might also be the cause, but I'm hoping it's pregnancy.
My husband is experiencing throat problems - extremely dry, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, some acid reflux, mucus at back of throat & occasional traces of blood in phlegm. Wakes him up at night with dry throat so consequently tired. Blood tests & chest xray came back normal so now awaiting endoscopy. Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms - were worried could be oesophagus cancer but told blood tests would be abnormal if this was the case?

for the past 3 yrs i have had very awful throat problems. it becomes too dry sometimes, i have lost 28 pounds because of the trouble i have eating. i have trouble eating certain foods,(greasy, spicy,) and certain foods give me an itchy throat, such as oatmeal, and bannanas. and mushy foods such as beans and mashed potatoes feel like they get stuck in my throat. i almost always wake up with a sore throat and a bitter taste in the back of my mouth.
