Sore throat jaw hurts

Common Questions and Answers about Sore throat jaw hurts

Your persistent symptoms of sore throat, ear pain and lymph node swelling could be due to a throat infection, most probably streptococcal or a viral infection. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.
Whatever it is has my throat hurting when I swallow ans feels like junk in my throat. My jaw hurts to open it and it wont ope all the way. I have a headache too. What is going on?
I have had jaw pain for many days, only on one side, now i have ear and throat pain on the same side, and my jaw hurts so bad, like I had been punched (or so I assume) really har din the jaw. It hurts to eat, and I have pain in my ear and a sore throat.....can anyone give me advise? Bad sinuses? Time to go the Dr?
How ever I have had no sore throat and no fever. Now all the glands on both sides of my throat are sore, but not swollen. I have read a lot on swollen glands being an early symptom of hiv, but I am not clear on what sore glands with no sore throat means. None of my lymph glands feel enlarged. Is it possible these symptoms could be ARS? The whole time I figured it was just a bacterial infection that would go away, but it still hurts.
I spiked a fever, terrible non stop headaches for about a week and a half, pain behind the eyes, sore throat. I felt pressure behind my nose and all I could do was sleep. I went to the ER and they told me I may have had pneumonia, which I don't think was correct. They gave me antibiotics and steroids and I felt better. It took a week though. Now here I am with a terrible red throat and white spots all around my tonsils, which I have never had before, only on my tonsils and my head hurts again.
Bad enough to wake me up constantly. The one on the lower right side definitely hurts worse, and it's definitely more in my throat than in my mouth like the first one. I saw a doctor today, and he said almost nothing helpful. They did a strep test which came back negative, and he said I should probably wait it out. He looked in my throat and didn't comment, so I'm assuming he didn't see anything remarkable.
Except my neutrophils were near the upper cut-off and and my lymphocytes were near the lower cutoff I was told its a Viral throat infection and my neck must have been strained from the sugery thats the reason i have neck pain, arm and chest pain He precribed me some Anti-depressants I still had the sore throat and swollen and painful lymph nodes along with other muscle pain, and i went to a another diognostic centre and gave an elisa test on march 15th 2010,it was negative(13 weeks after my lat

The sore throat is almost like on the esophagus when touched on the outside it hurts. Opening my mouth wide or sneezing or yawning hurts not alot but it hurts. My ears hurt as well.
Also put me on a zpak. I am on amoxy already but he wanted broad coverage. Also my throat has been sore for a month and strep tests negative.
My throat hurts and my jaw and neck ache, sore shoulders and back of neck. My throat is really red and veiney and my tonsils. And those veins are going up the roof of my mouth a little bit. There is white bumbs on my throat.
It doesn't feel like a sore throat or a pulled muscle. When I touch the area it hurts more. Also, It hurts more when I swallow, yawn or cry. I think it is where my lymph node is located. It's only on the left side. A few hours ago I started having severe, constant pain in my jaw/teeth. Also, on the left side. I don't know if it is related. Any ideas on what's going on? Should I see a doctor? I have tried heat and throat losangers, neither helped.
Can jaw pain and constant sore throat be a symptom of Fibromyalgia / CFS. I was diagnosed with CFS a few years ago and had glandular fever when I was 19 (am 48 now) but have had bouts of feeling flu like and general fatigue over the years. I have had a consistant sore throat, bit of ear pain, swollen glands and jaw ache, plus sharp pain in jaw when trying to eat, for over a month now. Dr gave me antibiotics but it hasn't helped. Has anyone else experienced this please?

Hello For the past two weeks Ive had a mild sore throat and an earache along with a sore left side of my jaw. It hurts most right where the jaw meets the neck and hurts when pressed even lightly. Does this sound dental or like a cold?
It is accompanied with a mild sore throat and slightly swollen tonsils. Before any pain began I had about 3 weeks of a mild cough, that is almost nonexistent now. The symptoms are: * Painful and some swelling joints, both sides of the body: neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, some finger, hips, knees, ankles and big toes * Morning pain, sometimes cannot raise one or both arms to brush hair, etc.

Can someone please tell me why i have this sore lump under my jaw it hurts and i am pretty scared. Could this be cancer? This discussion is related to Longstanding Lump Under Jaw-Biopsy Needed.
I'm also experiencing very restless sleep, and last night I vomited unexpectedly for no apparent reason (stomach wasn't upset at all), but I don't know if those things are related to the sore throat at all. Basically, I feel stupid going to the doctor for a simple sore throat, but its persistence is starting to worry me (it's gotten neither better nor worse since its inception).
This is happening to me. I also had my right wisdom tooth removed, now my throat is sore and my right ear hurts. It is really painful, I am wondering what I should do?
Developed a small canker sore to add insult to other sores. I've read up on Cancers of the throat and besides the sore throat I've got no other symptoms. My sister had thyroid cancer but a lump was clearly visible I have no visible lump or can I feel any ''lumps'' My lymph nodes aren't even swollen. I think it has something to do with my travels, I keep telling myself that cause cancer freaks me out. Acid reflux is something that comes up quite a bit.
I have had a mild sore throat for about a month, left side only. since last week, it hurts really bad, and my left ear aches. I use saline nasal spray and a humidifier, but it still gets worse each day. I am hoping the doctor can help me. Let me know if this side effect gets any better for you, or if you figure out a good remedy. This ***** these last couple days!
It took me 3 one week antibiotics to get rid of it then two months later, i started having a pain in the center of the skull above my throat... behind my palate and having bad taste and smell coming from there.... also sore throat and ear pain... i also had a mild headache on the top of my head. I went to another doctor and she said it was sinusitis..
Last July 2010, I had a fever for a couple days of 103 and an extremely sore throat. I felt horrible for about five days and tired for the next month after. I do not have health insurance and due to a medical emergency with one of my children, I could not afford to go to the doctor. A week or so after my throat quit hurting I started getting swollen lymph nodes on my right side at the base of my neck-shoulder area which sometimes can be seen and can always be felt.
A lymphnode below the jaw or submandibular lymphnode can swell due to infections of head, neck, sinuses, ears, eyes, scalp and pharynx or upper throat (sore throat, pharyngitis). So if you have any such infection or even if it is something as simple as dandruff or poor oral hygiene or dental infection, then this needs to be checked. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Does anyone else out there have or had a terrible sore neck? it hurts so much in the back. Mythroat feels like I can't swollow where it feels like that little adam's apple won't move. even my jaw hurts. I went to the ENT - he wants to see the actual US films . I called the pharmacist and he said prednisone should not be the cause of any pain I am having. Would this nodule cause so mych pain ? adn IF it spread to lymph node could this be my pain too.
No it is sun and the pain is only bad if I push directly don on that tooth--HOWEVER---my entire jaw hurts on that side now, I have pressure in my sinus on that side and i think I feel a bit of a lump (which is sensitive to pressure) on the bottom of my jaw directly under that tooth. I will go back in the morning but to get a second opinion will take a few days and a couple hundred mile round trip. Any thoughts? I am tired of the pain and even more tired of the pain medicine.
