throat

My symptoms are sore throat, sever neck pain and cough.
First off I just want to say I don't know where I to post this but this is the close one I can find to mine or maybe not the same at all sorry! Hey my name is Louis I'm 19. I've had some type of viral illness for about 23 days now I think. I don't know what kind it is but I'll walk you threw everything. It all started after Christmas I started feeling weak and not very hungry and I had this pressure in the front of my head before then "It started a week before cause I had the common cold.
today it's down my throat, like a sore throat, but I've never had a sore throat like this...even inside my mouth...red blistery looking. I was exposed to a smoking environment and then a lady who has pneumonia! My eyes are watery also and I am weak all over. I was just wondering if the mouth thing was sore throat/part of the flu symptoms, or if it could be something like mono, (never had mono /don't have a clue)...??
Does anyone know if a sore throat related to an initial HIV infection (ARS) would also be accompanied my very stuff noise and mucus, or would it typically just be a very sore throat more in line with something like strep throat?
Hi, How are you? Most cases of sore throat can indeed be due to a viral infection, such as part of flu or colds. With rest and plenty of fluids, this usually subsides within a week. Recurrent sore throat, on the other hand, can be due to allergic reaction, irritation, smoking or from infectious mononucleosisis. Infectious mononucleosis or kissing disease, is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). It presents with fever, sore throat and fatigue.Check with your doctor for proper evaluation.
The specific details have no value in predicting the cause, whether a cold virus, gonorrhea, strep, or anything else. 95% of throat gonorrhea cases are entirely asymptomatic.
apart from this I sucked her breasts. Now I have sore throat with with wet cough , neck ache , leg muscles pain. though I got a major hit on my leg knees.
I just read an old post from DR HHH he said oral std very hard to get and gonorrhea will clear itself up in throat but rally hard to get. I think I got a run of the mill virus or allergies. Thanks for your interest.
Every scenario you are describing is impossible - STDs are spread by sexual contact and/or blood. Your throat sounds like strep or just another plain old virus that is so common this time of year. Most pharyngeal stds don't give symptoms. I don't know why you aren't covering your mouth when you cough, but the most your nephew got with this is your virus or strep.
It now appears to be descending my throat, and I have develepod a slight cough. Or could it be something else. I tested negative for strep and mono. Any ideas?? Doc says he has never seen a case like this before. Help!!!
My question ... if the sore throat was caused by a virus, would the antibiotics have any affect whatsoever? Only other symptom I had was a headache, which is probably due more to a bad night's sleep. Thank you.
You can either put your nose in the cup and suck it up, till it runs to the back of the throat, then spit it out. Or try using a 60 ml syringe or a netti pot to help spray it up the sinuses.
Have your doctor see you. This might be a common virus or strept infection.
The lymph glands in the neck may be enlarged due to the infection causing pain. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain. If you develop a fever, or if there is enlargement of the tonsils with pain or if there is white coating on the tonsils, you will need to consult your primary care physician for a strep test, which if positive you will be given antibiotics. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
You sound as though you have or have had an infection. It may have been strep throat or tonsillitis, followed by activation of a herpes (that's why they call them "fever blisters" or "cold sores").
I am experiencing random slight fevers and my throat isn't sore but burns when i eat anything spicy. Furthermore im get a feeling of light headedness and the pain right underneath my left ear where the lymph node is at. My tonsils arn't swollen and the inside of my mouth looks healthy. I have been getting slight headaches as well. And in case you are wondering i have no cough and my lungs feel fine.
I read that a person is contagious for MONTHS after the primary attack and a sore need not be present to be contagious. How likely is it that the virus will be in her saliva after the baby is born? What if my husband and I get it from her? Does this mean we have to all avoid touching the newborn baby for months since we will be contagious for months with or without sores? I woke up with a bad sore throat 2 days after her initial exposure, does this mean I probably have it now?
I come from a medical family and usually throat pain is your body's response to fighting off an infection, bacteria, or a virus. Don't rule out infection if you don't have a fever. Some infections are accompanied by fever, some are not. I do not have a fever, but since the pain is isolated to one side, the problem may be swelling in the left lymph system...which is an indication of infection. No matter what your doctor tests you for, insist on a round of antibiotics.
Sore throat may be caused by viral or bacterial infection. Viral infection usually resolves on its own but may recur whenever you are exposed to a virus especially if your immune system is weakened. On the other hand, bacterial cause may warrant an antibiotic treatment. Warm saline gargle and antibacterial lozenges may help provide relief. If it persists or recurs, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor or an ENT for proper evaluation.

I have never got this sick but for the last few days I have had sore throat, headache, runny nose and back pain(inhale). Tonight I was too sick to walk so I took the cab home and I start to have chill and sweat and have chest pain. My whole body was shaking and I sat in my bathtub fill with hot water and it still won't go away. Anyone know what this is and how to deal with it? Honestly I don't have the energy to go to the doctors right now.
I've been to a Doctor and she said the sore throat symptoms are common this past few weeks. But I'm having trouble eating because my gums are so sore and the sore throat will not go away and it has been 5 days now. Are these symptoms suggestive of a STD? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Until you can get in to see the doctor, try some over the counter sore throat remedies/helpers such as a throat spray, acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain (double check with your doc before taking anything if you are on any other meds), gargling with warm salt water or even an anti bacterial mouthwash. Also be sure and keep your throat as moist as possible - drink extra liquids and even sucking on a piece of hard candy or cough drop can help sometimes.
I have had a sometimes severe sore throat for over a month. Had a scope put down my throat and the doctor says everything is normal....no growths, nodules, infection, etc. He suggested that maybe I had a virus and to come back in 6 weeks if the pain was still there and then he would repeat the procedure to see if there was a change. The pain does lessen sometimes but then comes back with a vengence. Mostly it is on the right side and, of course, the ears are also involved.
Hi Welcome to the forum! Sore throat with swollen lymph nodes in the neck should be investigated for infectious mononucleosis. In a person infected with infectious mononucleosis the EBV remains dormant in cells in the throat and blood for the rest of the person's life. Periodically, the virus can reactivate without or without symptoms of illness and can be found in the saliva of infected persons.
Dear Doctor, I have had protected sex with a lady whose HIV status is not known to me. This happened 2 months back. 10 day back i had sore throat. On the first day i was also feeling feverish but after proper one nights rest the fever disappeared. the throat became worse. i took medication from doctor who said the throat was red. he gave me 3 days medication and i became alright. I also had some loose motions. which became alright in 2-3 days.
