Hey Doc,
I had unprotected oral sex with a guy about two weeks ago. A week after, I started feeling a mild discomfort far in the back of my throat. I started freaking out. Upon inspection, I realized my tonsil was covered in red/brown puss. When I urinate/ejaculate, I feel this tingling sensation. My went to my doc's last week, and they took a blood and urine sample (they didn't have any oral swabs and needed to order if I wanted to get a sample taken).
I had a bout of sore throat and something like a flu about 3 weeks back. I was given amoxycilin 250mg for 5 days, but till now, I have been experiencing a dark brownish mucous from my nose when I suck my mucous back and spit it out during the mornings. Throughout the day, when I blow my nose, there will be occasional green mucous too. But phlegm that I cough out is colourless. My throat is only very slightly sore occasionally.
My symptoms include swollen lymph node on my right side, very horrible sore throat, puffy eye lids, and also my ears clog up like when I'm up in an airplane, and I can't really hear anything. Ive already been to the doctor's and I tested negative for strep, but would you think I have mono? Someone please help me, I can't really talk or eat that much because my sore throat hurts so badly.
She had an unprocted sex. After 3 weeks (1/17/10) of that she had fever, sore throat, headach, cough and cold. She took some medicine it. The fever disapperied in one night. But shore throat and cough and cold stayed about 4-5 days. After 4 days (1/21/10) of fever she had eye discharge which stayed about 2 days.
1. Are these can be ARS?
2. Do all the ARS stay for the same amount of time?
3. Can medicine reduce the duration of ARS?
Obviouly I will ask her to go for a testing after 3 months.
My sore throat is gone today, which makes me think that a viral sore throat would not respond so well to a Z pack. Plus, I had the irritation and a bit of discharge before I started taking it.
It's just the timing of the symptoms that's making me skeptical...Oh well. Calling the gyno on Monday for sure.
Following all this, the back of my throat and tonsils have continuously been red and inflamed. I have a sore throat that comes and goes, one lymph node in my neck that's been swollen for over 3 months, and now a white discharge from the back of my throat. This discharge smells bad, and after mixing with my saliva for the entire day, coats my tongue whitish/yellow.
I have had it for 2 weeks now, I got strep throat but I had the rash before I got the sore throat. The doctor says its viral rash could last 4-6 weeks just curious if anyone has had this too??
i am on week 13 of tx and I am going on my 6th week of having a sore throat and can not get rid of it. I took antibiotics for 7 days and didnt help at all. My Lymph Nodes located behind the ears and my throat are so enlarged that they are very sore. My nose is congested and is constantly bleeding. Is anyone having this problem? and is their any releif? I am shattered I think I have given my wife herpes she had had a sore throat and then about 7 days from sex said she feel pain in groin. I inspected and was sore to touch around were the groin lymph node is. I could not see any spot or lesion.
My urine. Test was good but understand I need to wait for bloods. To my knowledge I have had no outbreaks

So what about if they had an std? Would oral sex still be low risk?
Daily sore throat ... worse at night, occasional eye discharge in the mornings, urethritis with frequent/incomplete urination( last 4 weeks), constant stomach "gurgling"', more painful tongue sores with white rings, occasional night sweats, fatigue after a being awake for about 12 hours. Right side lymph node in chin is pea sized, and slightly larger than the left side. Bowel movements are considerably better with less drinking.
The other strange symptom was a sore throat and one single small white blister in the back of my throat on the right side. I went in to the doctor, and they swabbed it for strep and herpes (since I was worried about that), but both came back negative. That was on 10/22. It is now 11/7 and the white blister is still on my throat and the glands in my neck are sore. I have been so worried this last month, that I have not been sleeping or anything. What are your thoughts?

I've been gargling salt water and mouthwash. I have very little time between summer school and work to visit the doctor. My throat is only sore on the left side. The tonsil in the back looks like it has swelling and irritation in an oval shape. The lump on the tonsil is not secreting discharge or anything. My breath is normal. I haven't had any discharge from my throat other than normal colored mucus.

There are 2 things I couldnt be quite clear about,
1-does HIV cause bad smelling white creamy vaginal discharge and
2-can acute symptoms last for 2 months (starting from the 3rd-4th week of a possible exposure) with smth new everyday..
