Sore gums between teeth

Common Questions and Answers about Sore gums between teeth

sore

I tried 3 others and this made no difference to the sore gums. Does anyone have any advice, knowledge or suggestions on my problem of sore gums.
Might this be causing problems to the gums on the other tooth? I am very sore under the chin right where the sore gum is -- I'm assuming that is where my lymph nodes are, and they are sore because I may have an infection? What do you think? Thanks!
Does anybody suffer with an awful taste, and burning sore mouth & gums as a result of thyroid problems on certain days, but not maybe all the time? Only I keep getting it but I'm newly diagnosed with thyroid disease, so I'm not sure if it's related, I think it must be because I never got it before this. I'm also on HRT, which could be causing it, but I doubt it because I've been on it for years with no problems.
My gum had swollen between two teeth, not considerably but enough to see something wasn't right. My dentist flossed, took an x ray and then did a scale and polish. He said more than likely some food got trapped down there and caused inflammation and the pain will subside. That was 3 days ago now and it's still very much the same despite using some corsodyl mouth wash to try and speed to healing process up.
Conventional gums hurt my sensitive teeth and gums, anyone know of a gum that is ok for sensitive teeth? Thank you kindly.
I went to the denist not long ago and got a couple cavities filled, before i went in my teeth felt fine, but after the filling i eat and my gums hurt really bad. I called the dentist to tell them the problem and they said to wash my mouth with salt water and I have been but they still hurt anytime I eat anything. What can I do about it??
Since then, I've had a feeling of tightness and irritated gums between my two front teeth. Also, my once comfortable bite is now really uncomfortable. It feels as if I'm landing on a different molar every time I close my mouth. My dentist tried twice to adjust the bite and find the reason for the tightness/uncomfortable feeling in the gums around the front teeth. I went to another dentist for a second opinion.
Doctor: For several weeks now, I have been experiencing a sore throat in an area of my throat on the right side. I have difficulty/pain swallowing occassionally but mostly an itchy/scratchy sensation/feeling. Sometimes I experience pain and swelling on the right side of my mouth. A couple of years ago, my dentist informed me that my wisdom teeth needed to be removed as soon as possible.
Given the tenderness and discomfot in my abdomen, and my flu-like symptoms, that seems right. My gums are not sore, and the only tooth that is bothering me is the one that broke, as it is now sensitive. I am 55, presumably post-menopausal, as I had a hysterectomy at 35. I do not take hormone replacement.
Did the dentist say the gum looked healthy or not? Flossing in between the teeth to the gum line will help. Rinse your mouth with salty water after washing your teeth. Or use an antibacterial mouth wash. For bruxism (grinding of teeth), you can get a gum shield to protect your teeth from being worn away from grinding when you sleep. The dentist usually makes it for you to fit over your bottom teeth.
Do your gums actually hurt, or are they sore? Applying too much pressure with any type of toothbrush can irritate your gums. The cheap spin brushes are harsh, stick with medium to soft bristles, and don't scrub your teeth, just brush them gently. You don't have gingivitis or your gums would bleed. I just think you've been too aggressive in your brushing. Hope this helps.
I have a growth behind my two front teeth. It isn't sore but I do think that it's getting bigger. It is semi-rigid and dome like but there is no pain when I touch it or brush my teeth. Occasionally it does bleed. I have a retainer glued behind my teeth too. I haven't seen a dentist or my orthodontist in over two years but my teeth and gums were given a clean bill of health.
I can't believe the stuff that gets blown out from between my teeth with that!! The dentist has seen a lot of improvement in my gums since using it too. Chin up, and for don't lose that goofy sense of humor of yours!! That'll get you through if nothing else does.
Well, I forgot to mention that, for the first time in over two months, the gums around the initial bump are starting to become sore, but only when I press on them. Teeth don't hurt. Additionally, I developed a white lesion on the side of my tongue and the NP at school and my primary physician have called geographic tongue. But my tongue doesn't "change" like it should, from what I've read.
My gums do not bleed ever or hurt unless I am too violent with the floss or grind my teeth all night. Take care of your teeth and gums more vigilantly during treatment and if you use a routine like mine you will probably be doing the best you can.
I have an 8 day old. My 8 year old came down with a cold sore the day after she was born, I saw the red patch so knew to watch her and keep her far away from the baby. I also took them both to the pediatrician two days ago and the dr. said her cold sore was scabbing and I did what I was supposed to do, good handwashing and keeping the older child away. Yesterday I noticed an irritation on my lip, near the corner, on the bottom lip.

I showed this friend of mine this rash I have and she said she thought it was a fungus? I've had no diaraha, fever just sore neck, nauseaous, rash and sore mouth - are these symtoms of HIV?
Hi, i just got my four wisdom teeth out 4 days ago, and I can't feel anything on the gums where it was extracted. I also have some pain on nearby teeth around the extraction site around the gums. Like a feeling as if something is actually stuck in between my gums and it's really bothering me and aching. I am alo still slightly bleeding, is there something wrong with my nearby teeth?
toungue, lip, chin, very painful jaw, sore teeth/gums, lack of taste etc. Your post brought tears to my eyes as I know exactly what you're going through as I know how scary, painful and upsetting it is. Not to mention being angry about what has happened to you and thinking how on earth can this be better than the odd bout of pain/antibiotics?
My cat, Mitzi, makes a terrible grinding sound since she had her teeth cleaned 5 days ago. Took her back to vet who decided to remove a tooth that might be causing the trouble. This meant anesthesia twice in 3 days. She wouldn't eat, so I've brought her home. She tried to eat but the grinding sound is still there. She takes a tiny bite and starts shaking her head and making this sound. She is 17 - she was eating perfectly before the dental cleaning.
Poor sweetie, that's gotta be so uncomfortable. I hate teething, especially with the molars coming in. I wish there was something else to do to help other than giving ibuprofen or tylenol. I don't know of anything they can chew on that'll reach back there.
They were able to remove the teeth intact without cutting my gums or breaking the teeth. I know some swelling is normal, but I'm having slight pain on the glands under my ears. Is this normal? Mainly, the glands feel swollen, but I have no temperature and the clots are still in place. On one side, the clot looks black like it was blood and on the other side, the clot looks greyish. Just want to be sure nothing is wrong and this is normal.
for about a week now the left side of my face & has been extremely painful...it started with me noticing that my cheekbone was sore...then my eyebrow...as well as the thin skin beneath the eye....i began noticing the top gums & the roof of my mouth were also getting swollen and sore (on the same side only) .. very similar to the feeling i have had before when i had an abscessed tooth that needed to be pulled, however in that case, i KNEW where the pain was originating from .....
The following day I had a dull throbbing pain stretching from this area all the way back to the last molar- the pain feels like its located under the teeth (inside the jaw) and also along the outside of this gum adjacent to the lower portion of cheek. My gums do not look too bad- a bit dark red between a couple of these teeth- I have taken the precaution of flossing, gently brushing these teeth with pure tea tree oil (which is awful!
ALSO, since the exposure I've what a white glossy coat on the back of my teeth, on the gums, where the molars are located. It was originally simply white, but now there are some some red spots too, as if I cut the area, but I most definitely have not. This has me very worried and scared that I in fact have ARS. I'm horrified and convinced that I'm still displaying ARS symptoms or that mine are hitting later than normal.
Say the socket is like a bent finger, where you have the two knuckles and the extraction site is the top part, between the two bent knuckles. Well, I lost one of my knuckles and a piece of the finger on that side.
If amoxicillin and calvepen (phenoxymethylpenicillin) didn't help I have to wonder if your sore throat, sore ear, and sore neck are more from a virus. But 2 weeks is a long time for a virus. I'd get a second opinion if I were you. Dr.
His fever is gone and he also has an appetite, so I assume it does not have anything to do with his teeth or gums. But i think it is worth mentioning that 3 weeks ago, he has been complaining about his gums hurt because food got stuck inbetween his molars. it got better after brushing/flossing. yesterday, I took him to the doctor and we were prescribed antibiotics to reduce the swelling but no explanation was offered whatsoever.
