I delivered my son at 33+5. He is doing great just a little stay in the NICU. well neway I'm pumping right now till he able to latch the breast. Yesterday my pump got left in my husband car an he was at work which is a 45 min drive. An I couldn'tgo out cause its cold ffor me to be out. Now my breast are HUGE an SORE!! I think my milk bagged up from that one day. Any help on what to do at least sooth the pain. I'm still pumping tho!

ve done both--- breast feed and pumping. To be honest, breast feeding only hurts in the beginning and really only did with my first son who latched incorrectly at first. My nipples got very sore. But then once he was latching properly, it was fine. It never hurt with my second son. Pumpking doesn't hurt but isn't exactly comfortable either. It's really kind of strange until you get used to it, this machine pumping your nipples. I didn't love pumping but did it.

im so disappointed that i have to go back to pumping instead of breast feeding :( my little guy is just so much more unsettled on the breast than the bottle!

Ur breast are just engorged I dealt with it really bad when I stopped breastfeeding my son after 4mths....pumping will just cause ur body to produce more milk...I agree with the cabbage (cold) I know its weird but it helps good luck...it will get better...

I had to pump for a while to supplement and I also had to supplement with some formula (because he had lost too much weight). The pumping made me so sore, I could not wait to stop. I am no longer pumping now but need to return to it to get my right breast to increase its supply. I am going to experiment with some different breast shields to see if I can make it more comfortable. I have also started taking Fenugreek to boost my supply - it really helps.

If they are sore and super hard then they are still producing milk. I would always stand in a hot shower and massage my boobs, then would pump or try to feed. That's when I would get the most and it expressed much easier that way. Are you able to express any milk at all by hand?

When my little man was about 4 months old I had the pleasant experience of battling yeast on my breast. They itched and were sore almost the entire time I pumped for my little man. Well I also got sore breast too and I ended up feeling a little sick and feverish and dizzy. But you got to watch out if your breast or any part of your breast get red. If you breast get red call the doctor asap. But a hot bath, shower or massage should help abit. And as your breastfeeding continues it should get easier. Good luck!!! You need to keep working with him getting him to take breast. Pumping is exhausting. My daughter just had a baby girl in July. She did the same thing, but Miranda would not give up. She worked tirelessly with her trying to get her to nurse. It took a while, but she finally got it. I am sure the hospital had a reason to give the bottle. Usually its because the baby's blood sugar has dropped and a bottle is better than an IV. But one bottle would not cause nipple confusion.

I'm so excited I had to share... tonight I was nursing the baby and it hit me.. this doesn't hurt anymore. It took 6 weeks, but breastfeeding is pain free! After weeks of cracked nipples and mastetis at last I can do this without my toes curling. yes, make sure you keep to whatever pumping/breastfeeding schedule you set because i got a breast infection from a blocked milk duct simply because i went to a dr appointment during my pumping time!!!!! i had to switch to formula because of how painful it was and it ended up being numerous ducts that were blocked so i was able to get much out. good luck just remember to keep to a strict schedule!
