Avatar m tn The BILT is bilirubin. Bilirubin is a major breakdown product of hemoglobin which is derived from red blood cells that are being broken down in a 'normal' fashion via the spleen. It's transferred to the liver where a large portion of it undergoes processing and becomes 'conjugated' - it's put together with something else to make it more water-soluble. The water solubility of bilirubin allows the bilirubin to be excreted into bile. (Bile then is used to digest fats.

PEGylation can also provide water solubility to hydrophobic drugs and proteins. This is a long winded and convoluted way of saying that pegylated interferon will last longer in your body than interferon without pegylation. The original standard of care required taking interferon three times a week.
Avatar m tn dose anyone know definably how long methadone stays in your system 4 days now could be worse
Avatar m tn I think I've read that all the Bs are water soluble, so they should pass out of your system quickly, I would guess (but I'm not medically trained, so don't know for sure). I too take B complex supplements, some of which run up into the thousands% of daily requirement, like B-1, which is 3,333% of MDR. Given that the Bs are supposed to just wash out of your body, it seems like it might be something else, but this is a question for your doc. Are you keeping your fluid intake up?
Avatar m tn The main requirements for them are (1) high IFN-inducing activity, (2) absence of side effects, (3) wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity, (4) broad therapeutic security and, (5) good solubility in water and biologic liquids. IFN inducers stimulate IFN production in different cells and organs, and that determines the strategy for their application. Amixin (OOO "Lancepharm," Moscow, Russia) induces IFN-?/? production mostly in T cells. Cycloferon (NTFF "Polysan," St.
Avatar m tn You may also want to get some of the ingredients in the Thomas Receipe (it is posted in the bottom right hand corner of this page). Can you share more about your situation?
Avatar f tn Karin, Here is the (a?) manufacturer who makes them (the 0.025 mg ones) in Canada: http://www.apotex.com/ca/en/products/detail.asp?m=44296 Not sure if you already had that information? It may be helpful to try contacting them and asking which pharmacies in your area they supply? If you're willing/able to get your meds through a mail order pharmacy, the following Canadian mail order pharmacies carry the dosage you want: http://www.canadadrugs.com/search.php?
Avatar m tn Hey there & Welcome! Congrats on coming off the Subs! Subs tend to be a lot less predictable in terms of return of energy & sleep than methadone or other synthetics that store in bone & other tissues because it has a much more variable fat solubility ratio from person to person. This means that in one person who's on it for a year, the subs might not store as rapidly in tissue as another person who does it for the same amt. of time at the same dose.
Avatar m tn I have tapered off of subox, the doctor put me on Clonidine to take 3 times a day. So far, I feel fine, in fact this is the best I have felt in a while. I was on put on subox. four years ago for pain management, not for detox. It took me almost 2 years to taper of of subox, but when I got down to 0.25mg, the doctor put me on this Clonidine. Is my feeling good only because of this new medication? Am I going to need to taper off of something else now? WTF?
Avatar f tn I am fearful of the clonidine, but that is not my call and needs to be addressed by your doctor. Some others here might have had the same experience.
Avatar f tn I'm on 8 ml of methadone and want to stop taking it all together. How much clonidine do I need to take a day to get over this bs?
Avatar f tn Be careful not to think more is better because you will just drop your blood pressure and end up in the ER or worse. Clonidine is a blood pressure medication but is known to ease WD in very small dosages. Ok if prescribed by your doctor. I like patch better because you will not try to take more to make you feel better, Good luck..
Avatar m tn I took Clonidine for several days during detox. It really did make a difference in helping with my withdrawl symptoms. Helped to keep me calmer and in my skin. I also had a few tranzene that I took ( I cut them in halves ) . These two things along with the Immodium and otc pain meds were a hugh help for me.
Avatar f tn If you are at the start of your w/ds then I would talk to the DR about getting a few prescribed during your detox..They work for Anxiety & help with Sleep. I got mine finally prescribed after I went 22 days of High Anxiety & No Sleep coming off of 3 meds at once back in 2012. I could only take it at Night!!!! Now almost 2 years later I had some Heart Procedures and have learned alot about these BP Meds.
Avatar f tn but cos of body adjustment a person with a low BP during wd should beware of clonidine...most of the time wd/severe from strong narcotics or high doses///the bp goes up due to the stress of wd...a 60 mg hydro user would possibly see a big drop in bp due to clonidine which can cause emergency situations....a 200-300 mg oxy user who goes ct would possibly benefit from clonidine use to curb wd..it is better than methadone or sub...as it is non-narcotic...
Avatar f tn I too would recommend trying the Clonidine. As others have said, it is an anti-hypertensive medication that does help to relieve w/d symptoms quite successfully. It will not take them away completely, but it will minimize some of the symptoms, by reducing the sympathetic nervous system response, such as tachycardia and high BP. It's not a habit-forming drug, and really, the biggest consideration is some hypotension (low BP).
198154 tn?1337787265 s but only a caring doctor will give it, most would rather see you suffer....i took .1 mg of clonidine 3 times daily...worked tremendously well...if taking clonidine will help get you off your d.o.c.,...take it as your doctor has prescribed it...regardless of what you think MIGHT happen...it does help more than i can describe, i think it is a miracle drug for wd's. i took it for 10 days, then tapered for 3, it is not addictive, but you have to taper to avoid rebound high BP...
656243 tn?1231288052 I have been on it for years. The only risk is the potential of building up a tolerance to it which has been of concern in me as I have had to gradually up the dose with my psychiatrists permission. But generally its safe long term. One thing to remember is just because two medications have similar names they can be totally different. The FDA is aware of this and is trying to change this. I know because the first medication I ever took was Anafranil.
349859 tn?1257790973 Does clonidine really help with easing some of the yucky wd feelings??
10047460 tn?1407438406 Wow Jeni I'm not sure. The only time I took Clonidine was for my high blood pressure. I've heard that Clonidine helps with a lot of symptoms of withdrawal including cravings. My doctor gave me Zofran 8 mg for nausea. It worked really well. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hang on for a while.
589824 tn?1238796813 Its very different for me with clonidine, it keeps my blood pressure in check and at this point I get no sort of euphoria or sedation from it what so ever, thats not to say in the beginning it did have a mild sedative feeling to it if I took more than my dose, but I dont believe he should be getting sick from not taking it.
Avatar f tn I am going hot and cold and getting hot flashes and really nauseous. My methadone doctor told me that clonidine will help these symptoms, I know some of you have tried it. I was wondering if I should start taking it, I am so uncomfortable. I know this is a slow and low taper, is it worth getting it?
478811 tn?1208474960 Your blood pressure has possibly dropped...do you have access to a blood pressure cuff....drugstore if close by... .2 mg is not an extremely high dose but it depends upon your normal blood pressure and age as well...most detox with .1 do not drink or take any relaxing medications.....keep us posted.....what is your normal BP?
880900 tn?1467270141 I’m pretty sure clondine is a high blood pressure medication to reduce hypertension. It sounds like some side effects of taking clonidine may be helpful with w/d's. I haven’t tried it for that, yet, however, I took it once to reduce my BP and I accidentally took too much and I was literally walking sideways, my BP got dangerously low....(if that happens, drink lots of H2o), so, IMO, I would be very careful with it and take a very low dose. It’s nothing to mess around with….
Avatar f tn Way to go day ten!!! Clonidine does help so much during detoxing. I am glad you got in to your doctor quickly. I am happy to hear your not crying as much. Your on the downside of this now. In a few days this will all be over. Have a beautiful Sunday.........
Avatar f tn I want to quit oxy and my question is this, when do you need to check into detox? Last time I went ct I fainted in my bathroom. I had just stood up from having my hundreth bath of the day and suddenly everything went fuzzy and I woke up on the floor. I didn't continue the detox because I was too scared to after that. I've done two other ct detoxes and never had that happen but this last time was the worst.
Avatar m tn My doctor tried all the drugs you see on TV and in the end I am taking 10mg oxy 3 times a day and .1mg of clonidine 4 times a day. I have tried going a day only taking one of the drugs but only get relief by taking both. While still being on oxy is not the best I did reduce my intake. I was on 30mg oxy 4 to 5 times a day at my highest dose.
1967424 tn?1325633780 Listen, you need to calm yourself. Take deep breathes. This is the 3rd time you asked this question in the past couple of minutes---please be patient. It is the weekend and it is normally slow here. If you stick with one post members can follow you and help you better. I know this is hard so try and relax. Clonidine is a blood pressure medication and is often prescribed during detox.I took it a few times but honestly it did not help me that I am aware of.
