I have not been sexually active since July 2007. However, last weekend I had a small blister show up on my buttocks. I had my dermatologist look at it. He said it was Herpes and we've done a culture. (Still waiting on results.) He said the "initial breakout" must come within 2 weeks of exposure. However, I have had not exposure. Is this correct?
Please understand that many people do not have an initial breakout, the information your reading does not apply to all cases, that was the first thing my doctor made clear to me when I was diagnosed with genital herpes II after being married to my husband for 14yrs. Some cases are really mild,such as mine. I believed that he had been faithful and he believed that I had also, we also believed that neither of us had no idea that one of us had carried this disease for so long without knowing.
I'm wondering if there's any research supporting a link between solodyn and eye floaters. I was on Solodyn for about 2 months and my vision deteriorated over the same period of time. I have pretty severe floaters that distract me in reading and computer use. Previously a little farsighted but not requiring glasses. Optometrist says the back of my eye looks like "a spiderweb." No retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc.
Hi, I have post inflammatory hyper pigmentation and I've had it for absolutely ages. After I get rid of a breakout it always leaves a red mark and it doesn't fade away! I've read online that they do fade away but for some reason mine aren't.. I still have some hyper pigmentation from some spots I had about 12-24 months ago.
I just found out that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I took Solodyn 115mg for the first month of my pregnancy! I am really scared that this might have harmed my baby. All the websites say to avoid becoming pregnant while taking Solodyn because it has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. Has anyone been in this situation?
A couple years ago I contracted HSV-1 genital. I had one breakout and tested positive for only HSV-1. HSV-2 was test but came back Negative. I've not had a breakout since the initial one. I realize that once infected, always infected. My question is, since I'm now monogamous and my partner has not yet contracted HSV-1 (although she know its possible) can I contract the HSV-1 now orally since I've already developed anti-bodies?
m still at a loss for what to do next. I have no symptoms yet (I did read the 2-20 days for initial breakout time), but I am wondering if I should get tested. I know blood tests aren't reliable so close to the exposure, but I'm honestly lost. Do I still get tested in 3-4 months if I don't have symptoms? What are the main symptoms I should look out for?
I just have never heard of anyone having a breakout this far out, and it is reported to be within a week or so of contracting. It really kinda bothered me at first, and I felt bad. Although, the more i thought about it, i figured it was kind of an anomaly to happen. Anyways, she has a weird narcissistic personality, and i was a basket case while we were engaged. She likes to control, and I was wondering if this was her last ditch effort. She knew i was pretty happy about everything.
Just got over my initial outbreak of herpes 2 a week ago after a whole month of pure hell and two prescriptions of acyclovir. One week later I'm feeling a little bit of tingling and itch. Is it possible it's starting all over after just a week of clearing up?? I'm currently taking Lysine, vitamin C and B, and limiting my Arginine intake. Not on suppression therapy yet, however plan to start soon.
I saw a dermatologist and he said that it was folliculitis and prescribed me solodyn (minocyciline). The sores on my lips usually last a week, but I usually pop them and they are sore, but no blood or pus comes out. They heal and have dissapeared, but for a little redness that you can't really see unless you look closely in the mirror. Is there still a chance that this is herpes?
Is there an upside, like am I building antibodies while having a continual breakout? I guess it hasn’t gone into latency yet? What do I do? What does a long breakout mean?

I am 30 years old, female. Tested Neg for HIV last week, In NOV 2009 tested Neg for HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea & Chlamydia. Never had an STD besides this, that I know of.
I have an initial herpes outbreak and took a blood test that came back positive. Does this mean I could have contracted HSV-2 a while back and am having my first initial outbreak or must it be my new partner that gave me the disease? I have no been with anyone else in months but he recently took a blood test and came back negative.
I had a primary breakout within the time frame of a month from the initial sexual contact of the person. He claims that I could have had it for years, which could be true, YET the math doesn't add up for me cause of the time frame.

After the first, he would get a breakout about once a month to once every two months, progressively less frequently, depending on the stress levels - but never as bad as the first. You don't get prodromes from an initial infection. Prodromes are found only in recurrent infections...
If someone had hiv would it take two years or could it have been a reaction to the medication solodyn which does have a side effect of joint pain. I have been tested several times since that encounter and my hiv test even up to febuary when I got sick was negative and the three previous tests before that were negative.
I wanted to be able to take something, ANYTHING, to prevent a breakout, not just sit around and wait for a breakout happen. So I came across the Super Lysine supplement. I took it daily 3x a day and the tingling went away. If I skipped a dose the tingling would come back (kind of my reminder "hey, take your lysine!") When I took the dose, tingling would subside. A few months passed and I hadn't gotten a breakout, so the dummy I am, I decided to stop taking the lysine.
He halos informed me he had one mild breakout and that was the initial breakout and that was it. It has never surfaced again. He said he's never given it to anyone. Advice on what I do or information on this topic would be great! I know 1 in 5 people have genital herpes and it's more common than we think but idk if I want to catch this and me and this guy break up later on.
on november 4, she began experiencing prodromal symptoms (fatigue, low grade fever) and by november 8th or 9th had sores and blisters in an initial breakout. another partner she had intercourse with somewhere around november 8th/9th has since also broken out with sores and blisters, and they have both confirmed through their doctors that it is herpes.
