hi, i'm just repling to Rosacea Treatment i was just wondering how long did it take for the redness to disappear?
Solodyn is used for 'acne' and is NOT known for weight loss with it.
s any research supporting a link between solodyn and eye floaters. I was on Solodyn for about 2 months and my vision deteriorated over the same period of time. I have pretty severe floaters that distract me in reading and computer use. Previously a little farsighted but not requiring glasses. Optometrist says the back of my eye looks like "a spiderweb." No retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc.

Abt two months ago, I was prescribed Solodyn, I use neutrogena creamy wash, Retin-A and some hydroquinone for the dark spots. The solodyn make me break out in a HEAP of HIVES !! so I stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and now I have been prescribe Bactrim?
It seems that antibiotics are the ONLY thing that cure my acne since I have really oily skin. The topicals dry it out in the beginning, and I only apply a little, but then my sebaceous glands quickly make up for the lack of oil.
I just found out that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I took Solodyn 115mg for the first month of my pregnancy! I am really scared that this might have harmed my baby. All the websites say to avoid becoming pregnant while taking Solodyn because it has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. Has anyone been in this situation?

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be rosacea. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of convexities of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. Pimples are sometimes included as part of the definition.
Treatment options vary from antibiotic creams,antihistaminics,sun screens to laser treatment.A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best.

So to keep this short, I have red cheeks. It's been present for all of my life and it's one of my main insecurities.
No other redness is apparent on my apart from my cheeks. No bumps, veins, and burning on them, it's just a solid, smooth redness that fades near my mouth and somewhat in the middle of my cheek.
If someone had hiv would it take two years or could it have been a reaction to the medication solodyn which does have a side effect of joint pain. I have been tested several times since that encounter and my hiv test even up to febuary when I got sick was negative and the three previous tests before that were negative.

Your description does indeed sound like rosacea, and I was diagnosed with it when 27. But you also describe what might be some other conditions. Acne and seboric dermatitis can also occur with it. Plus you might have an infection; I once had a staph infection on my nose. Infections on the face are serious.
In February, I got retested again and it came back negative for both. I went to a dermatologist and he prescribed me solodyn (minocycline) for folliculitis and said that most likely that is what it is. Recently I experienced the same bumps on the same side of my lower lip where my lip meets my skin. I went to get it tested today and the doctor did not test for herpes, but said that it most likely was herpes.

What you have is called steroid induced rosacea. Steroid induced rosacea or dermatitis is an adverse effect of using steroids. Some patients develop steroid-induced rosacea within weeks of applying a topical steroid; others may not experience it for years.
Using tacrolimus often resolves the itch, redness, and tenderness of steroid-induced rosacea but it should be taken after a dermatologist’s guidance.
During treatement I have suffered a lot for high redness of the face, recently the Derm doc told me this is Rosacea, I am taking Rozex gel for more then 1 year now, the redness improved but still exist and I have flare-ups from time to time.
Recently I noticed that Sylimarin (milk thistle) can help with Rosacea. I took Milk Thistle for about 2 years before treatement and stopped it while I was on treatment.
My question - would it be ok to take Milk Thistle now ? Can it cause any problem ?
Every derm I spoke to uses it and downplays the black box warnings. I still use it every week but less for rosacea and more for some sporadic bouts of seb derm.
Here's the basic regimen that works for me after much trial and error and two handfulls of derms. I don't do this anymore daily unless I have a flare. Sometimes now I will go for weeks using nothing but when things were bad, or I had a flare, I would do it daily.
Wash face gently in morning with Cetaphil gentle cleanser.
I had rosacea for many years - they say there's no cure. Well, I went on a gluten free diet (for other reasons) and my rosacea disappeared!!!!! All the usual triggers had no effect on me when I was gluten free. It won't help everyone, but maybe you'd like to give this diet a try. Hope this helps!
