Common Questions and Answers about Solodyn and vitamins

solodyn

Avatar n tn Solodyn is used for 'acne' and is NOT known for weight loss with it.
Avatar n tn I'm wondering if there's any research supporting a link between solodyn and eye floaters. I was on Solodyn for about 2 months and my vision deteriorated over the same period of time. I have pretty severe floaters that distract me in reading and computer use. Previously a little farsighted but not requiring glasses. Optometrist says the back of my eye looks like "a spiderweb." No retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc.
Avatar m tn I just found out that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I took Solodyn 115mg for the first month of my pregnancy! I am really scared that this might have harmed my baby. All the websites say to avoid becoming pregnant while taking Solodyn because it has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. Has anyone been in this situation?
Avatar n tn no results Abt two months ago, I was prescribed Solodyn, I use neutrogena creamy wash, Retin-A and some hydroquinone for the dark spots. The solodyn make me break out in a HEAP of HIVES !! so I stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and now I have been prescribe Bactrim? It seems that antibiotics are the ONLY thing that cure my acne since I have really oily skin. The topicals dry it out in the beginning, and I only apply a little, but then my sebaceous glands quickly make up for the lack of oil.
Avatar m tn I saw a dermatologist and he said that it was folliculitis and prescribed me solodyn (minocyciline). The sores on my lips usually last a week, but I usually pop them and they are sore, but no blood or pus comes out. They heal and have dissapeared, but for a little redness that you can't really see unless you look closely in the mirror. Is there still a chance that this is herpes?
Avatar f tn Just want to know two years to the month of my last sexual partner I got sick where I had bad joint pain in my knees and wrists it was difficult to move. If someone had hiv would it take two years or could it have been a reaction to the medication solodyn which does have a side effect of joint pain. I have been tested several times since that encounter and my hiv test even up to febuary when I got sick was negative and the three previous tests before that were negative.
Avatar m tn s twice in the last two years and have been told it was genital herpes at first, but then have no antibodies in my blood test for hsv 1 or 2. Then I went and got checked at a Planned Parenthood and described my symptoms and was told that because of the area of recurring bumps that it was most likely folliculitis and also be tested negative for herpes.
1094941 tn?1264559085 I have had a red itchy rash on both sides of my face and then some regular looking bumps too. Above my chin and on the sides of my mouth I have some big blister like bumps that are filled with water and hurt bad. I have treated them with all sorts of things and now my skin feals like sand paper and is so dry. It is very red and irritated and I am so depressed and angry. I don't want to be seen by anyone. I have never had anything like this.
Avatar m tn I took a blood test for herpes 1 and 2 and it came back negative. In February, I got retested again and it came back negative for both. I went to a dermatologist and he prescribed me solodyn (minocycline) for folliculitis and said that most likely that is what it is. Recently I experienced the same bumps on the same side of my lower lip where my lip meets my skin. I went to get it tested today and the doctor did not test for herpes, but said that it most likely was herpes.
Avatar n tn No sores. But, my left testicle seems sore and my urethra sometimes feels like I have soap in it - seems worse when I am sitting down. Does not burn to pee or ejaculate. Feel like I am stopping to check my penis every ten minutes and it is driving me crazy! HELP!
Avatar n tn Went back to him and he prescribed me epiduo with solodyn. After a few weeks i had tiny red spots on my face and huge pimples. I tried proactive as well and that didnt work. After that i told him the situation over the phone and he said to continue the solodyn with epiduo. i did for another month and nothing happened. He now switced me to cephalaxin and i have been on it for about three days. my whole face now has tiny pimples starting to emerge in areas i never have had them before.
Avatar n tn My Dermatologist did a nose swab, and the results came back as psudomonas, and I completed a dosage of Cipro, and used neosporin in the nostrils. One of the bolis has come back however, approximately as big as a fingertip, and is somewhat painful. I went back and had a culture of the actual infection taken (results unknown), but as the doctor said the drainage was just blood, that I am probably dealing with a cyst that may need to be removed.
Avatar m tn I noticed that my last period, which ended about 2-1/2 weeks ago, was oddly heavier than normal -- so I wiped a lot and more and scratched a little more with toilet paper due to the itching from the yeast infection..The gyn wasn't able to examine me properly since I already used the Terazol the night before -- so no pap, but she did noticed something else...Now...
Avatar m tn So it sounds like your docs are taking your situation seriously. The next question would be whether (as your rightly ask) the Solodyn treats Lyme and therefore affects the Lyme tests. That, I don't know for sure, but it's not a reason not to take the meds. Any doc reading your test results would take into account the meds you are already on and the effect they might have on the tests.
1165843 tn?1263018569 Spironolactone. Girls can take it, not boys. That is the key to cystic acne for girls. All hormonal based. I'm 49 and have had them since 17 years old. Still get them, but only once a year. Taking Solodyn 105 mg. with it, too. That's a high dose, but necessary. Spironolactone comes in 25mg pills. One pill a day is not enough! That won't fix anything. I take 100 mg a day to maintain. 50 mg in the morning and 50mg at night.
Avatar f tn She has been through several antibiotics with no results. She is currently on Bactrim and due to go back to Dermatologist tomorrow with suggestion of starting Accutane. She woke up with this acne in mid-December and began taking Vyvanse a few weeks before. Could there be any correlation? I don't want to jump into Accutane if Vyvanse could be causing it but she is so self-conscious.
Avatar f tn I have tried so many different medications and treatments but none seem to work long-term and afternoon 14 years of this I am very frustrated and just don’t know what to do. Many of the medications seem to help for a couple of months but then my acne always flares back up. I have seen many doctors and dermatologists and my last one said that if what he put me on now does not work there is not many options left aside from acutane which I REALLY do not want to do.
Avatar f tn I asked my doctor if i could take prenatal and regular vitamins together and she said yes and I'm 10 weeks but now my stomach hurts and i feel like i could vomit what should i do????
Avatar f tn 05% a sodium, sulfacetamide 10%, sulfur 5% cleanser, solodyn 55mg pills to control my acne and sunscreen but yet again (surprise surprise) didn't help with the hyper pigmentation. I have fair skin and it makes the hyper pigmentation appear darker than it is because of the contrast. Right now I added kojic acid to my routine and been using it everyday for 3 days but haven't been noticing a big change and I'm not sure if it is working or not.
Avatar n tn For some reason, a week or two before my last period, I started freaking out that I might be pregnant. My period usually arrives on Day 4 of the placebo pills, but arrived a day early, stopped, and then started a few hours later. It remained for the normal amount of time. I was on medication, however, and I keep seeing differing statements about its effect on birth control. The Mayo Clinic says that medication doesn't effect it, but some other sites swear it does.
Avatar f tn You also want to look for the USP and USF labels on vitamins. It means they have been tested and contain the things they say they do and don't have things in them they shouldn't. Most of costcos vitamins have this seal on their stuff. I look for these seals when taking fish oils because the mecury has been taken out etc.
Avatar f tn As I understand it, vitamins A, C, and E are all problematic, as is magnesium, if you are D type. If you are C type you will probably find calcium a problem. I have found supplementation particularly beneficial in my case; however, I do use a brand with particularly highly absorbent minerals (96% absorption) which means that virtually nothing gets to the colon. (I stopped nodding off behind the wheel in about 10 days. This, after a couple of years of fighting this off every afternoon.
5720485 tn?1373563055 But has been proven that Hep C patients are deficient in some vitamins and that supplementing some such as b12 and D have benefits.
1129232 tn?1360800358 Does anyone know if it's safe to take vitamin C and vitamin E and flaxseed oil when pregnant? I have not even confirmed my pregnancy yet but i take these supplements every day along with my prenatal and i just noticed today that it says consult your physician if pregnant...
Avatar m tn I don't know about L-Arginine and its effects on genital warts. I think the biggest concern with it would be if you had a heart condition. Living a healthy lifestyle is the first step to getting rid of the warts. As far as supplements go, have you looked into Papillex? The ingredients are based on Naturopathic protocols for HPV and has a lot of good ingredients (green tea extract, carotenoids, sulphorophane, astragalus, reishi, selenium, folic acid, vitamin c and e).
