Although this is somewhat rare, I was one of the lucky few. My teeth have a blue/gray discoloration and in certain lighting look very unattractive. It is very light but I can definitely see it. My dentist also confirmed it is there. I know tooth discoloration is normally permanent. Please let me know if anyone has experienced this and if it did go away. I'm hoping because I was only on it for 7 weeks this will go away. I started bleaching but it doesn't appear to be helping.
Solodyn is used for 'acne' and is NOT known for weight loss with it.
I'm wondering if there's any research supporting a link between solodyn and eye floaters. I was on Solodyn for about 2 months and my vision deteriorated over the same period of time. I have pretty severe floaters that distract me in reading and computer use. Previously a little farsighted but not requiring glasses. Optometrist says the back of my eye looks like "a spiderweb." No retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc.
I just found out that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I took Solodyn 115mg for the first month of my pregnancy! I am really scared that this might have harmed my baby. All the websites say to avoid becoming pregnant while taking Solodyn because it has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. Has anyone been in this situation?
It doesnt look like its receeding and it doesnt have any odd discoloration, just looks normal but detatched. My sister says that she had something like her gums detatching just to make room for adjustments on the new tooth. Is my gum just detatched to help me make my wisdom teeth to move better? Is it going to reattach later on?
Some medications may cause discoloration of the teeth, but then such discoloration would be showing on most of the teeth. Examples would be tetracycline medication, also too much fluoride.
Hmmm, genetical defect during development may too cause discoloration and malformation of enamel, dentin - but than again it would show in more than one tooth.
A) I would seek a second opinion.
B) If you do decide to go ahead with current dentist, I would suggest pressuring him into using anesthesia.

Abt two months ago, I was prescribed Solodyn, I use neutrogena creamy wash, Retin-A and some hydroquinone for the dark spots. The solodyn make me break out in a HEAP of HIVES !! so I stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and now I have been prescribe Bactrim?
It seems that antibiotics are the ONLY thing that cure my acne since I have really oily skin. The topicals dry it out in the beginning, and I only apply a little, but then my sebaceous glands quickly make up for the lack of oil.
My 2 1/2 yr old son banged his tooth approx 3 weeks ago & has since discolored. A pediatric dentist advised to have a "papodmy (spelling?) & composite filling" to correct the "infected nerve" on his Front tooth (E) & mask the discoloration. This is supposed to last until his baby teeth fall out around age 7? What exactly does this mean? Will his adult teeth be affected by this? Is this the best way to proceed? Does the procedure cause alot of pain?

About 4 weeks ago i picked with my teeth the skin near the nail and i got a bad acute paronychia.It was the worst i have ever got,pus was coming out ,all the tissue was red and inflammed and it hurt like hell.Even if i touched my fingernail at the end(i have long fingernails) my finger was sensitive.So..today i noticed,i havent looked at my nail closely lately nor at a natural light , i saw that my nail suffered some yellow discoloration as if there was something underneath it.
6 months later i notice some discoloration especially after i got my teeth whitened and so i got another x-ray and my dentist saids it still looks okay no need for a root canal but what about the discoloration...i just wanted to get some different opinions and insight on what it may be and what i can do...
I had a injury to my mouth about 4 years ago and had to have my two front teeth and one just to the left root-canaled and crowned/venereed. The one tooth (left of the 2 front teeth) was cracked below the rootline and I had to have an extensive build up. My gum has never really healed up right and is always sensitive on this tooth.
He is also encouraging me to choose a slightly lighter shade than my surrounding natural teeth to compensate for the discoloration since concerned of the possiblity of it showing through. I believe his crown color choice is too bright and want a darker shade. Is there anything my dentist can do to prep the underlying tooth, masking the discoloration and preventing it from showing through the new crown? Also, is an all porcelain crown the best option given this circumstance?

So I was sick a 2 weeks ago with severe burning throat pain and cough ( may have been strep throat ) took a round of antibiotics and was good after a few days. Then 6 days ago I suddenly developed extreme gum pain and tenderness in my neck. Then gum pain seems to be almost my entire mouth top, bottom, left and right. But sometimes it's just the left side. The right side comes and goes and that applies to both the neck pain and gums.

s the problem, my teeth are slightly yellow and i believe these are caused by coffee and smoking. but however, my front two teeth seems to be more yellow than the others and sometimes there are white spots on the front two teeth. so i was wondering what is the causes and is there any solution for it?? well, appearance for me is at top priority...so i really need help on this.

Let me preface this by saying that my dentist and hygienists have always complimented me on my clean, white teeth and I have taken pride in having a smile that makes many think I have had braces before (I haven't). My 22-month-old son chipped the two upper teeth that are the next teeth after the two front teeth. I went to the dentist with him and he thinks it could be amelogenesis imperfecta. The teeth both had a pitted, discolored part six month ago, (we thought he discoloration was from iron drobs) and now the enamel of the front part is coming off very easily, but on just those two teeth (so far). If this keeps going, both those teeth are going to be down to the nerve within weeks/months.
d apply Vaseline every night and remove the dead skin off while brushing my teeth in the morning, i have been taking multivitamin supplements for about a week and i'm not applying anything on my lips, i feel that its getting better there is scab on the lips and it seems to be healing underneath, i'm leaving them alone and see what happens, i will let you know how it goes.
