Solodyn and rosacea

Common Questions and Answers about Solodyn and rosacea

solodyn

Avatar n tn Solodyn is used for 'acne' and is NOT known for weight loss with it.
Avatar n tn I'm wondering if there's any research supporting a link between solodyn and eye floaters. I was on Solodyn for about 2 months and my vision deteriorated over the same period of time. I have pretty severe floaters that distract me in reading and computer use. Previously a little farsighted but not requiring glasses. Optometrist says the back of my eye looks like "a spiderweb." No retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc.
Avatar m tn I just found out that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I took Solodyn 115mg for the first month of my pregnancy! I am really scared that this might have harmed my baby. All the websites say to avoid becoming pregnant while taking Solodyn because it has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. Has anyone been in this situation?
Avatar n tn no results Abt two months ago, I was prescribed Solodyn, I use neutrogena creamy wash, Retin-A and some hydroquinone for the dark spots. The solodyn make me break out in a HEAP of HIVES !! so I stopped taking it about 3 weeks ago and now I have been prescribe Bactrim? It seems that antibiotics are the ONLY thing that cure my acne since I have really oily skin. The topicals dry it out in the beginning, and I only apply a little, but then my sebaceous glands quickly make up for the lack of oil.
481101 tn?1209087469 Does anyone have any thoughts on Rosacea and Pregnancy? Mine in getting much worse and i'm not sure what to do or if I can do anything to help it. Thanks!
Avatar m tn Hello, I went to the dermatologist a few months ago with a red face and slight acne on my forehead. She immediately said it was rosacea and prescribed me Rhofade. It was expensive and eventually hurt more than it helped. So, I went back and she prescribed me Soolantra. That seemed to have worked for a couple of days. Now, my face is back to being completely red and burning. I'm used to blushing easily, but this occurs even when I'm sitting at home. It's constant.
Avatar f tn An ophthalmologist has his/her education and special instruments. Rosacea usually has a rash on forehead, cheeks, nose and eyelids.
Avatar m tn I saw a dermatologist and he said that it was folliculitis and prescribed me solodyn (minocyciline). The sores on my lips usually last a week, but I usually pop them and they are sore, but no blood or pus comes out. They heal and have dissapeared, but for a little redness that you can't really see unless you look closely in the mirror. Is there still a chance that this is herpes?
Avatar n tn The facial left me uneven ugly texture on my cheeks, some scars, enlarged pores on my cheeks in places i never had before and rosacea which i did not have prior to the facial. My question is whether i will be able to correct these texture problems and scars in the future with fraxel or would fraxel make my skin worse since i now have rosacia.
Avatar n tn It does not occur anywhere except the area of my chest that is normally seen through a neckline opening and across my nose and a little bit of my cheeks. I am 50 years old but still have oily skin. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn However, within about six months, I noticed a thickening of the skin on my cheeks near the sides of my nose- which the dermatologist diagnosed as Rosacea. It is irreversible and I am crushed. My Clarisonic is put away, and I am never going to clean my face with anything other than mild cleanser and my fingers. The doc specifically said that any friction at all, even soft brushes, can bring on Rosacea.
Avatar n tn The bumps are like little pimples and are rough and dry. My face has general redness over the nose and cheeks (I look like I have constant sunburn). A friend thinks I may have rosacea. The symptoms I experience have not bothered me. There's no pain, itchiness, etc. But I'm wondering if there's need to worry?
Avatar f tn Just want to know two years to the month of my last sexual partner I got sick where I had bad joint pain in my knees and wrists it was difficult to move. If someone had hiv would it take two years or could it have been a reaction to the medication solodyn which does have a side effect of joint pain. I have been tested several times since that encounter and my hiv test even up to febuary when I got sick was negative and the three previous tests before that were negative.
Avatar m tn s twice in the last two years and have been told it was genital herpes at first, but then have no antibodies in my blood test for hsv 1 or 2. Then I went and got checked at a Planned Parenthood and described my symptoms and was told that because of the area of recurring bumps that it was most likely folliculitis and also be tested negative for herpes.
Avatar m tn I had seborrheic dermatitis for 7 years now and because of that i had to use Corticosteroid , but unfortunately i did not know about the side effects of that and i used it on the scalp and bear for many years , now that i am 31 i was diagnosed with rosacea, i was wondering can this be steroid induce rosacea and if yes would it go away.
Avatar f tn Slight visable blood vessels. Thinking rosacea but could be wrong? Tried azelaic acid but doesnt seem to be working.
Avatar m tn You may have better luck reducing foods that are inflammatory, such as sugar and grains and reduce sugary drinks. Tea tree oil may help. Google rosacea and see what other say. I think it can be related to celiac disease.
Avatar f tn If a person develops rosacea from the use of steroids and discontinues topical steroids.... uses prescribed medications to clear their skin..... do they still have rosacea and have to be careful of triggers such as certain foods? One would think that if one eliminates the source that provoked the rosacea,,,, then it is not truly rosacea ..Any info on this....
Avatar n tn ), weather changes, sun exposure, exercise, alcohol consumption, emotional upsets, and spicy food may trigger blushing and aggravate rosacea. The symptoms of rosacea generally tend to come and go. The skin may be clear for weeks, months, or years and then erupt again. Rosacea generally lasts for years. The medications that you are receiving are alright for the condition and you would definitely see some benefit with these.
Avatar n tn I have hypothyroidism and rosacea. My doc started me on levoxyl about 3 years ago. Within about 2 months, I was diagnosed with Rosacea. I finally made the connection about 1 year ago that maybe it was the levoxyl making my face so red, so I stopped taking it. And sure enough my face stopped being so red. But, I really need the thyroid meds so my doc had me take synthroid, this made my face red again with little bumps this time.
1094941 tn?1264559085 I have had a red itchy rash on both sides of my face and then some regular looking bumps too. Above my chin and on the sides of my mouth I have some big blister like bumps that are filled with water and hurt bad. I have treated them with all sorts of things and now my skin feals like sand paper and is so dry. It is very red and irritated and I am so depressed and angry. I don't want to be seen by anyone. I have never had anything like this.
