Solodyn and laser treatments

Common Questions and Answers about Solodyn and laser treatments

solodyn

Avatar n tn What did finally work for her is IPL (intense pulsed light) laser treatments. She had the treatments in May and her face is still, for the most part, clear of acne. And, it is drug free! If only we had known about the laser treatments before she became acutely ill from the Solodyn.
Avatar f tn 05% a sodium, sulfacetamide 10%, sulfur 5% cleanser, solodyn 55mg pills to control my acne and sunscreen but yet again (surprise surprise) didn't help with the hyper pigmentation. I have fair skin and it makes the hyper pigmentation appear darker than it is because of the contrast. Right now I added kojic acid to my routine and been using it everyday for 3 days but haven't been noticing a big change and I'm not sure if it is working or not.
Avatar n tn Solodyn is used for 'acne' and is NOT known for weight loss with it.
Avatar n tn I'm wondering if there's any research supporting a link between solodyn and eye floaters. I was on Solodyn for about 2 months and my vision deteriorated over the same period of time. I have pretty severe floaters that distract me in reading and computer use. Previously a little farsighted but not requiring glasses. Optometrist says the back of my eye looks like "a spiderweb." No retinal detachment, glaucoma, cataracts, etc.
Avatar m tn I just found out that I am 6-7 weeks pregnant and I took Solodyn 115mg for the first month of my pregnancy! I am really scared that this might have harmed my baby. All the websites say to avoid becoming pregnant while taking Solodyn because it has been shown to cause harm to the human fetus. Has anyone been in this situation?
Avatar n tn Im trained in laser treatments I wouldn't recommend laser hair removal whilst pregnant based on there not being enough research to support it if it is safe or not
Avatar m tn didnt work, and now I have begun a laser treatment which two of them have been removed but the large one doesnt seem to be responding to the treatments. Does the laser treatments always work? and if that fails whats the best alternative to this treatment as its was said to be the best.
Avatar n tn My son had 12 lasar treatments and it did not change anything, his cheeks are as red as before.what else can he try? This discussion is related to RED CHEEKS.
Avatar f tn the detachment and not actually fix it and that the detachment could progress past the barricade. Are there significant risks to the laser and will the laser barricade interfere with future treatments I may need in the future? It seems that most people have prophylactic laser for tears before they become detachments. Has anyone had this procedure done on a existing detachment?
Avatar f tn Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

Avatar f tn I have tried so many different medications and treatments but none seem to work long-term and afternoon 14 years of this I am very frustrated and just don’t know what to do. Many of the medications seem to help for a couple of months but then my acne always flares back up. I have seen many doctors and dermatologists and my last one said that if what he put me on now does not work there is not many options left aside from acutane which I REALLY do not want to do.
Avatar n tn I have made an appointment to get laser treatments on my legs, stomach, chest, arms, armpits, upper back, and face. The thin hairs are barely visible in most of these areas, but I do not even like 'peach fuzz' so I have decided to get rid of it. I had a few concerns I hope you can answer: 1. My doctor is insisting that sessions for all areas are done once a month. I have read that the lower body should be spaced out 6-8 weeks, but he says it is fine.
Avatar m tn Solodyn, acc. to the internet, is anti-bacterial, used for infections including in the brain area. So it sounds like your docs are taking your situation seriously. The next question would be whether (as your rightly ask) the Solodyn treats Lyme and therefore affects the Lyme tests. That, I don't know for sure, but it's not a reason not to take the meds. Any doc reading your test results would take into account the meds you are already on and the effect they might have on the tests.
Avatar m tn Hi Kindd Thank you for reply. I've seen a couple or dermatologists who have told me several different things. One suggested that I don't get the dermaroller and instead do the fraxel laser and take care of the thread veins at the same time. I'm mixed race and very cautious about using lasers on mt skin. I live in scotland and most of the doctors here have very little experience of working on ethnic skin.
Avatar n tn But i have read that it will not affect the eye vision, but her vision decreases in left eye alone, when we discussed with the doctors they say that it happens due to optical nurve weakness.they ask us take laser treatment for this laser treatment. Can we go for this laser treatment? what information we should know about laser treatment before taking it ?
Avatar m tn You should consult a good dermatologist and discuss the pros and cons with him. Most patients need a minimum of seven treatments. The number of sessions depends on various parameters, including the area of the body being treated, skin color, coarseness of hair, reason for hirsutism, and gender. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn How can i get it better. What are the treatments available? Is there any cosmetic or laser treatments are available? This discussion is related to dark skin.
384150 tn?1399904816 I had a course of microderabrasions and skin peels and was also having regular botox. I was just about to embark on a course of laser hair removal (bikini) and that was cancelled too!!! I have been back since loosing the baby and asked to resume but they have said NO as I am stil trying!!!
Avatar f tn 4 treatments of A+C and 4 treatments of Taxol have been completed. I still have 12 treatments once a month of Herceptin. to complete, however, I am in desperate need of endoscopic laser surgery on my L5 and am thinking of delaying the Herceptin treatments for 3 months so that I can get this surgery done as an out patient under a local anesthesia. I had to delay the laser surgery last year due to the breast cancer.
Avatar m tn I would say that if you feel comfortable with your doctor, then you should follow their recommendation of laser surgery. Have they tried other, non-invasive treatments at all? You may want to discuss with them and ask them what they think is best. I don't treatment OSMF so I'm not as familiar with the treatments. I did some research and there is only one study which showed improvement with a laser treatment. But I can't find anything which states its the treatment of choice.
Avatar n tn depending on where you are at, I can maybe give you a name of a doctor to see for laser. I have had laser treatments myself, and also help out with an organization to help people with pws's and other birthmarks get laser treatment along with other conditions.

Avatar f tn My 3 1/2 year old french bulldog started crying out in pain on Friday after jumping up when he heard my daughter's school bus arrive.Monday I took him to the vet who examined him and took x-rays. The x-rays showed that Bugsy has a malformed disc at the t11 and a large calcium deposit at the l3. The vet prescribed Rimadyl and rest. By Wednesday I had to call the vet and tell him that Bugsy was still screaming every time he tried to step on that front right leg.
Avatar f tn //my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/17917-holmium-laser-enucleation-of-the-prostate-holep/procedure-details - mention that some symptoms, usually frequency, urgency, and waking at night may take several months to improve, but I can't find anything about burning and flow. This - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/17917-holmium-laser-enucleation-of-the-prostate-holep/risks--benefits - says that there may be burning after for several weeks.
Avatar m tn The Vbeam laser works in combination with the Cool Touch laser and with a substance called Levulan. While the Vbeam laser removes red from acne scar tissue, the Cool Touch laser tightens the skin from the inside out. But this requires more than two sittings to take effect. So you should follow up with your cosmetologist and get it done in multiple sittings.
