s a lunar calendar (not solar like the one we use every day) so if you want you calculation to be right you need to know you lunar age :) it's usually an extra year hehe ;)

10 lunar months. There are 4 weeks in a lunar month, but in a calendar month there are usually 30-31 days which is clearly more than 4 weeks (only 28 days). So 10 lunar months and 9 calendar months.

The eclipse tonight is not a solar eclipse but rather a lunar eclipse. A National Geographic (fairly reliable I would say!) article I just read said it is the third in four with the last eclipse being at the end of September with the four combined being called a tetrad. I wouldn't worry too much. Thanks for mentioning it but we already survived two others! I have heard of hurricanes effecting pregnancy but we dont have to worry about those just yet! Not sure how true it is anyhow!

You are pregnant for 9 CALENDAR months - in my case, we conceived on about March 18 - and 2 weeks before that would be roughly the start of my cycle - so March 4 - and we are due on December 6. So March 4 - Dec 6 = 9 CALENDAR months. But, you are also pregnant for 10 LUNAR months - every 28 days is a new lunar(moon) cycle - so 28 X 10 (lunar months) = 280 days (in my case March 4 to December 8 would be 280 days) or roughly 9 CALENDAR months. :-) I am sure that is as clear as mud!

Just curious how many people looked at the chinese birth calendar, and was it right or wrong for you? I looked it up and it told me girl. I'm 12 weeks so I'll have to wait and see...

If I go by my lunar age and month, it was right both times. If I just used my regular age and month it was wrong both times. I used the calendar on baby centers website, it calculates it for you. but it only has a 50% chance of being correct. It's more for fun then anything.

You're definitely 5 months. Don't forget that we are pregnant a little over 9 calendar months, and for 10 lunar months. It sounds like you are going by calendar months, which would make you 5 1/2 months.

Aside from the fact hospitals and doctors use calendar months too, I personally pay no attention to lunar months, I have a normal diary and calendar and that's how I track my pregnancy.

It's a lunar eclipse not a solar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the earth is inline and inbetween the sun and moon. It is the solar eclipse that should not be viewed without protective eyewear.

With my son I craved salty foods - with my daughter not so much - more sweet cravings. Any other method for me was off. The Chinese Lunar calendar and fetal heart rate predictions weren't accurate for me. People would look at me and say they were CERTAIN I was carrying one gender and other people were just as sure the baby was the opposite gender. The salty thing with my son was the only difference in my pregnancies.

I was just wondering from all the mothers out there who already have children or the mother's that already know the sex of their baby, did anyone check the chinese lunar calendar to see if it was accurate in your case? Im just curious to see how many people actually saw it match the sex of their baby??? We figured out all of my moms kids, it was correct for 4/5. My sister is due in 15 days, it was incorrect for her baby! Any thoughts...

It is because there are 2 ways to calculate it. Lunar calendar based on 4 weeks long months and 30 days calendar. So the lunar calendar counts 10 months of pregnancy while the 30 days one counts 9 months. Just go based on the app. It will tell you when you have completed your 5 months and start the 6th one. Right now it looks like you are 4 months and 2 weeks (ish) along so in the middle of your 5th month.

That's wrong hun. You're probably four calendar months but five lunar months. It's crazy and confusing! I'm five months right now (21 weeks).

re talking to some consider pregnancy 10 months(lunar) with each having four weeks. Others consider pregnancy 9 months(calendar). I've had physicians that figure it diffidently.

How many of you have used the Chinese Lunar Calendar to predict your babies gender? If you have used it was it right every time or not at all. I thought it would be interesting to see what other mom's have experienced. My personal experience it it has been right with all of my babies and I have three children and one on the way.
