I have asthma and allergies and the summer is always a joy for me with sneezing just about every day of it. Question is what causes a body to sneeze? and why is it that i can go all day with out a nose that runs but as soon as i sneeze i have a nose that runs. I have always wondered what causes a body to sneeze ?
I've been having a problem with sneezing for quite a while now. I'll have fits where I'll constantly sneeze for 15 - 20 minutes at a time. The sneezing fits happen for no apparent reason and throughout the year and almost daily. Nothing that I have tried seems to help at all. My doctors have also tried various things to help with this (Nasal sprays, allergy medications, etc.).
This is kind of strange but every time any form of heat turns on my nose and sinuses go crazy. I get incredible sinus pressure, my eyes water, I start sneezing continuously, and sometimes it is so hard to breath that I can't talk (It just feels like my throat is closing up). It won't take long for this to happen but it is especially fast/bad when I am in a car right next to the vent, which makes things interesting in the wintertime.
Now since past 2 years or so its been continuous. All the time I will have running nose, mucus and sneezing. Only by medicine like Sudafed, olbas oil or some nasal spray it stops. Morning time is worse when I spit out lot of mucus and sneeze a lot. As day progresses it becomes little comfortable. I have seen many doctors till now but nobody takes it serioulsy, they prescribe some drug and thats it.
Im constantly sneezing, when i sneeze they are short and quick with no mucus. It happens so much that even my partner gets annoyed with it. Its been happening for two years now. Any ideas on how to stop it or what it is causing? Ive tried allergy pills, all types of antihistamines but nothings working. Any ideas? Thanks.
Don't know if you'll still catch this post, but I just found this forum this morning. I think it's got something to do with post-nasal drip. Anybody with sinus and/or allergy issues who already battles sinus-related problems on a somewhat regular basis probably has the same problem but hasn't noticed it. I've smelled the same thing too -- from MYSELF -- when I've sneezed into the air (in the morning before I've even had a chance to rinse my mouth. i know, gross).
I have a very sneezy cat. She was extremely sneezy when we first got her from the shelter and upon taking to her to the vet for her first shots and check up he gave her a round of antobotic for a "cold". Went through that, still sneezing so they put her through another round. Basically to this day she's still very sneezy, and mucus is present. Also, every couple weeks she'll be even more sneezy than normal and her left eye will get runny with a brown substance.
I read some where that your mucus membranes swell when your pregnant and thats what causes the sneezing, and it can aldo cause nosebleeds. I never had this issue with my first, but I've been sneezing away these last few weeks. So much so that nearly all of my coworkers have commented lol.
the headache will last for 4or 5 days. while i'm spitting out the mucus some blood coming out with the mucus. the same happens while sneezing my nose.what is the reason for this? do i need any medical checkup?
I have a 2 week old infant that has some light nasal congestion and is also sneezing a bit. Twice when he sneezed a bit of mucus came out..it was clear. He is not running a fever nor does he seem to be ill. A little background...he was a full term baby, but low birthweight (4lbs, 14oz). He was born via c-section (I mention that because someone told me c-section babies often have mucus issues). He is not having trouble breathing, and the mucus comes and goes.
Yours is a common experience and is related to both allergic and non-allergic rhinitis, which is nasal inflammation. Sneezing, with exercise, is a less common symptom than nasal congestion but a very common symptom in persons with allergic rhinitis at rest. And, allergic rhinitis is frequently associated with asthma so you might want to be sure that you don't have that as well.
It started in 3's then it was down to double sneezing and now it's pretty much one at a time with a double or triple every mow and then. I can deal with it though .... Sneezing should be the last of our worries....congrats on 19 Days!! And someone once said on medhelp that each sneeze is more toxins leaving our body so I see it as a good thing!
During the beginning of my pregnancy I had a nasty cough with mucus and decided to try natural home remedies to make sure baby would be ok. Anytime I would blow my nose or cough my boyfriend would be concerned. I contacted my doctor and he said everything is fine. Baby is well protected.
Now my cat is sneezing less...but still sneezing now and again so I am not sure what to think. She seems normal otherwise (hard to tell if she is having extra cat naps since she is a cat who snoozes). Maybe it was the cleaning products? If it is an infection, what would be the chances only she would have it and not my other cat? They both hang out together and both are indoor cats.....
I just went through 3 months of sneezing fits with my precious dog. He had mucus filling his nostril, his nose was constantly running. I had to clean it out for him several times a day. The vet believed there was something lodged in his sinus cavity and that he would eventually sneeze it out. I never saw what it was, but eventually the sneezing did stop so I guess he cleared it.
When the antibodies are stimulated by pollen and dust, histamine and other chemicals are released. This causes itching, swelling, sneezing and mucus production. Pls contact an allergic specialist and get skin tests like skin ***** test done. In this a small amount of allergen is introduced into the skin of the forearm and the reaction of the skin is noted. If there is any redness then that person is allergic to the allergen introduced. You can also get blood tests like RAST done.
Ask your vet if it's possible that your cat has an allergy instead of a respiratory infection. Sometimes vets assume with sneezing and congestions, and just prescribe the antibiotics. I don't know what kind of tests your vet did, but we have a cat that had exactly the same symptoms you are describing and it turned out to be an allergy. So, it's worth asking about. As to OTC, there is nothing that will clear up a respiratory infection, if that's what it is.
Sneezing is very common with wd. You will sneeze for awhile. It starts to slow up after a month or so............
The sneezing I can live with---it's 10 hours a day with a running nose that's a killer. I'm starting a nasal spray called Omnaris and hoping it helps. It's truly a debilitating condition and I commiserate with the others who've written.
First thing in the morning it seems to be daily I sneeze about four of five times and when I blow my nose the mucous is clear and it fills the room with this foul medicincy stench that could make you not want breakfast
For about 2 and half years now every night and morning i have a blocked up nose and im constantly sneezing, I am sniffing through out the day and it is just clear mucus. i have been recently waking up in the middle of the night with sneezing fits and my face puffs up and i can hardly breathe. ive been to the doctors and all they say is its a cold or a viral infection but i have never known of one last nearly 3 years!
Its not dust, because i am the cleaner in my house and i dont get sneezing when i deal with dust. Its not any season specific. I am kind of confused.. When i get this allergy, thats a spoiled day.. i sneeze continuously... and by the middle of the day i will be very tired..
Hello there, I am a 32 year old male. For many years I have been living with what I think are exceptionally bad allergies. On certain seasons my nose gets blocked so much that I cannot breathe through it; especially when I am lying down (sleeping). I have tried a multitude of anti-allergins. Tavist, Chlorotriplon, Reactine, Aerius, etc. None of them have given me any kind of relief. I have been to see allergists to get a list of what I am allergic to.
Mucinex seems to help my son with the terrible mucus issue he has. Check with your OBGYN to see if it is safe for you to take it is over the counter thr genetic brand works just as well. Drink lots of water and avoid milk and oj as they both cause more mucus production. I would ask gor a referal to an allergist thst deals with asthma and get tested.
So far so good till in 2002 she started having a runny nose with constant blowing of the nose (with/without mucus). She was treated my a throat specialist who told her that she might have some kind of allergy. She was sent for test with negative results EXCEPt for extreme allergies to almost all kinds of antibiotics ( this is meant seriously) except for one which is called Zenat.
Developed a condition with nasal mucus and throat clearing usually in the morning, especially after eating.. It also makes me want to sneeze. Went to a Nose, Ear & Throat specialist who diagnosed the problem as Acid Reflux and put me on Aciflex. On the drug for about a week with some improvement. Any comments?
He sneezes so hard and so much that my furniture is covered in mucus spots. I have seen it fly 9 feet across the floor. Help!!
It thins and loosens mucus and it comes in a box of 600mg. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well as Myofascial Pain Syndrome, but I have other things going on that I believe are more severe that have unfortunately been dumped in the Fibro basket. It did make my Fibro "flu" symptoms kind of worse but I was sneezing. I did not take the whole box.
