Sneezing in newborn kittens

Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing in newborn kittens

sneeze

Avatar f tn I went to the vet and they recommended i redo mother for fleas with frontline, as it is safe in nursing mothers and thet gave me a frontline spray for the kittens and said to use 2 sprays per kitten. I didn't want to risk bathing them in case they got a chill. They also said i should start worming them from 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn m thinking with the diarrhea and occasional blood that he has worms, very common in kittens. Take him to a Vet and get dewormed don't buy that over the counter junk, it's not effective plus it can make kittens very ill. As for the sneezing, this needs to be treated too it's common especially if kitty came from a cattery. Get it nipped in the bud before it turns bacterial and spreads to the lungs. So basically see a Vet ASAP.
Avatar f tn I gave birth 3 weeks ago and ever since she was born she has been sneezing. Not alot.cjust every once in awhile. But literally from day one she has been sneezing.
Avatar n tn Upper respiratory infection is the reason your kittens are not healthy. At so young an age, they need to be cared for constantly. That means the vet, food and the time you take to care for them. It does not sound like you have the resources for much if any of this. My best suggestion is that you re-home them with someone who has the time and money to raise them.
Avatar m tn so i have a 7 year old lactating persian queen and she seems to have a lot of phlegm.
Avatar f tn Young kittens, especially strays frequently are affected by several viruses that together are called the Feline Upper Respiratory Syndrome. If the infection is already in the recovery phase the sneezing may persist but the kitten is no longer feeling ill. Viruses are generally not treated with specific medications but rather with supportive care, which sometimes includes antibiotics for secondary bacterial infections.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend found some newborn kittens too I couldn't help but hold them and want to comfort the poor babies. But I'm fine.
Avatar f tn Hey mommas im a bit worried my newborn have been sneezing alot idk if he alergic to a vanilla candle he has like a runny nose what should i do or it could b the weather
Avatar f tn My partner and I have taken in abandoned kittens x2 who are less than a week old. They are 4 days old and though they are eating more and more each day (25ml her today, 19.3 him) they are not gaining any weight! She has been 94 grams for pretty much the whole time and he's dropped from 106 to 96 in two days. We try to keep them warm and aim to feed them every 3 hours, they usually take 2-3ml per feed. They had fleas but that has been fixed. They also don't poop very much.
Avatar n tn My husband found 5 newborn kittens 9 weeks ago in our backyard and the mother was dead not too far away. They still had their umbilical cords attached, so just a few hours old. I have been taking care of them full time myself, but one declined and died at 8 days old, another one had a funny looking head, was the smallest, and had what seemed like seizures, and he died at 4 weeks old along with another kitten.
Avatar n tn We have had success in kittens like yours building up internal immunity and boosting overall health and wellness with organic commercial or home made diets and balanced natural vitamin-mineral supplements, some of which also contain the L-Lysine. Please keep us posted and if you need additional advice I am glad to help.
Avatar n tn Call a vet. They have special milk that can be fed to kittens through a bottle. I wouldn't think that human milk would be suitable. It needs the right enzymes for its species with a very sensitive new digestive system. I am not sure, but I think a place like Petco may also have something for a newborn kitten...Best to you and God bless.
1303813 tn?1303159362 I have reared a fair number of newborn kittens, and I would say that it is virtually impossible that a newborn kitten could or would ingest a biscuit.
Avatar f tn I have a newborn kitten of 2 weeks old. Without doing it on purpose, he was going to fall on the ground so I was so scared at the moment and i didn't do it on purpose I hit his head on the table. At that moment, my kittens head was going right left, but after a few seconds, he did it less and less. He eats, poops, and meows. But, I am still very scared that something happens to him (like death). Please can you tell me what to do?
691935 tn?1421027090 He lived a long life 18 years - had him since he was nursing. The shelter was going to euthanize the mother and her newborn kittens and I convinced them to let me take all of them against their policy. I kept two and found homes for the mom and other kittens when they were weaned. My boy was the biggest, he was huge next to the other kittens nursing. My other cats have been looking for him this morning. They loved him, kept him groomed during his final months when he was unable.

After 24 hrs he began showing signs of w/d. Tremors and sneezing... he was put in the nicu yesterday morning. He is now on morphine and supposed to wean down.

Avatar m tn from everything that i have read it is not safe for a cat to be around a newborn at all, especially kittens. They are attracted to the mother milk left on the babys breath and they someitmes will crawl on the babys face and sleep (obviously smoothering the baby). I had rescued a stray cat when my son was 3 months old I kept an eye on the baby ALL the time and at night time I would lock the cat up so I could get some rest without having to worry about the cat smothering my baby.
Avatar f tn Newborns breathe so weird. Its not steady like us yet. They will skip a breath sometimes or breathe really slow, then really fast and sometimes it sounds gurgly. One minute you hear them snoring then it sounds like they stop but they are just breathing really quiet. I was told it's normal. They are learning how to use their lungs and regulate their breathing. But she or he may be congested too, try a nose plunger if he or she has a hard time breathing while feeding.
912322 tn?1243528988 how do i move them without stressing out my cat, i tried once and blocked it off, but she kept grabbing her babies and started rubbing them on the bottom frame of the bed trying to get through, i freaked out cuz i thought she was going to hurt them, so i let her back under there. please message me if you have any experience with momma cats and newborn kittens.. im sorry for being way off topic......
Avatar f tn I have the same problem. My indoor rag doll had 5 kittens one tiny and sadly died today (10 days old) my other 4 kittens big healthy kittens but today I noticed they have lost fur! not in chunks or anything but went so thin that you can actually see there pink skin. This was such a shock as there coats were fine! they eat fine,no rash or anything on skin, nobody seems to know whats going on.
