Hello, I have a cat who has sense the day we rescued him been sneezing and at points discharging, for a lack of better words, snot balls on the walls. We have taken him to the vet and have received a medication that did not work after completing the full bottle. I don't recall the name of this medicine. My question is, are there any over-the-counter medications that we can give this poor cat so we don't have to pay 50$ over and over again to visit the Vet.
The vet instructed me to finish all the medicine...The vet will call me next week to see how my cat is doing with this new medicine...and he gave me the x-ray to take with me when I go see the specialist. The vet said he had cat with similar problem and survived for a couple of years. Hopefully this time the meds will work...I did ask the vet about Cryptococcosis, he said that infection is very rare for an indoor cat...
My cat has been sneezing and having nasal discharge for a month now. She has no other symptoms. She plays,she eats well. Just sneezes and has nasal drainage. Her eyes are good. No swollen or runny eyes. Is this allergies? I noticed she usually only sneezes when her nose touches objects or she sniffs. Sometimes mucous comes out with the sneeze.
Adopted peanut from shleter 6/09. 2 weeks later, noticed lots of sneezing, followed by clear eye discharge. we did terramycin eye ointment for over 3 weeks, no improvement. then the PCR test was done and results were positive for mycoplasma, so we did 3 weeks on doxycycline (cycle ended yesterday). some improvement, but now more sneezing and still some clear eye discharge.
Now my cat is sneezing less...but still sneezing now and again so I am not sure what to think. She seems normal otherwise (hard to tell if she is having extra cat naps since she is a cat who snoozes). Maybe it was the cleaning products? If it is an infection, what would be the chances only she would have it and not my other cat? They both hang out together and both are indoor cats.....
we just got a kitten, and although i lived all my life in my partents house with a cat, i seem to have developped a pet allergie. i have itchy eyes, sneezing, easy headaches,difficulty in breathing, sensation of a burning nose. i started taking some allergie stop medicine and use some spray to decongesionate my nose. they work, in big lines, very good, my question is: for how long can i still use this medicine? do not want to abuse it. how expensive are the allergie stop shots?
I have been sick for the past four days now and nothing I am doing is helping me get better! I have some type of nasal infection (stuffy/runny nose, headache/preasure, sneezing and slight sore throat.) I've tried drinking lots of fluids, soup, vitamin c and taking Tylenol reg. Strength for fever. I'm 36 weeks and I don't feel like feeling like complete crap my last few weeks of pregnancy. Please someone help! What can I take??
We took her home in a crate (recently used by my other cat and my dog sometimes slept in there) and when we were in the car she started sneezing and one of her eyes was a little bit watery. Prescribed Clindamycin for a whole month. His only symptoms after a day or two back on was increased sneezing (or reverse sneezing and some snorting) He was doing incredibly well after 1/1/2 weeks on antibiotic again, but we started having problems getting it into him. Called the vet on Friday Aug 18 and her assistant suggested holding the antibiotic over the weekend. Called on Monday and couldn't talk to vet until Tuesday afternoon. She suggested giving antibiotic only every other day.
I live on a farm and have many barn cats. My cat has a fluid pocket under his chin that keeps refilling when drained. We have drained it twice now about a week apart. It has no odor and is clear, mucus type fluid. It doesn't seem to hurt him. He eats and drinks normal. Has no discharge or bad odor to his breath. No sneezing or coughing. Any ideas???
