Common Questions and Answers about Sneezing after chocolate

sneeze

Avatar n tn You're not the only one that has mentioned sneezing a lot. It happened to me also. I do not normally have allergies but was beginning to wonder. I was sneezing several times a day....and usually five times at "each sneeze". Haven't sneezed in a couple of weeks, at least, now....so guess that is over. Kind of odd, isn't it?
Avatar m tn SOLVED! After 30 years of violent bouts of sneezing after I eat a meal I have finally solved it. I have asked Doctors over the years. I've been told it was Food Allergies, or that there's something "in the air", etc., etc., etc.! So darned frustrating. It's a body temperature change. After eating a hot meal my body temp goes up and I begin the sneezing. My father had the same problem but died without ever knowing what caused it. I think this is also genetic.
Avatar m tn People may be allergic to one or more food additives used in some chocolate products. When such an allergy occurs,it may cause hives, swelling, itching, sneezing and life threatening anaphylaxis.Chocolate contains milk,wheat/gluten,corn and corn syrup, nuts and various additives. If you are allergic to any one of them, you can show an allergic reaction to all the foods that contains the allergen even in minute quantities. If you have an allergy to cocoa based foods can be found by allergy testing.
Avatar f tn Is it a proper sneeze (air blowing outward) or what's commonly referred to as "reverse sneezing"? Reverse sneezing can be frightening to see if it keeps on for a few minutes, but it's harmless - basically a kind of a hiccup. Our Dal gets reverse sneezing fits sometimes and we can usually stop it by rubbing his throat and getting him to move around a bit. That technique might help when your dog gets the sneezes from excitement.

Avatar n tn Today I had a very small piece of chocolate fudge. My throat immediately swelled closed and I could not talk of breath to good. I had a hard tiem getting water down but did.and I started to recover in 5 minutes. Thye say I have food allergies and other allergies along with acid reflex. Is this normal to recover in about 10-15 minutes after taking water to rinse the choclate out of the throat area, and can this get worse?
Avatar n tn If you're going to eat chocolate eat dark chocolate. It has antioxidants and is actually good for you in moderation.

Avatar n tn I am a 19 yo white female who has been experiancing excrutiating chest and right arm pain after sneezing. The pain starts in my upper chest, very similar to the pain experianced when one has a brochoncial infection and has been coughing for a long time. It racks around my chest cavity and is a very sharp, prolonged pain. The pain also moves down my right arm, stopping usually before it goes into my palm.
Avatar n tn i have a constant cough, running nose and sneezing and gets worse when i go to bed,any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Yup! I found it hard to hold pee and sneeze after I had my son, during this pregnancy it's practically impossible, hopefully it's not this bad after she's born!
Avatar f tn ve read on here many times about a LOT of people experiencing the sneezing phenomenon after the hard withdrawals are over. My thought was that maybe it's just one more way for the body to detox and rid itself of the remnants of the drug?...sneezing DOES get some bad stuff out of you....so maybe look at it as a positive thing (although I know it's probably a pain in the butt at the time!) Congratulations again -- what a great accomplishment! :-) Continued luck and success to you....
Avatar f tn Yes is like a sharp pain, my happens by my hip bone (kinda) on the right... good luck ladys, now we know  that is part of the 13-14 weeks...

Avatar m tn Lung illnesses such as bronchitis is the most common illness after detoxing from opiates. I got really sick about 3 weeks after detox, took my meds and got well, then relapsed w/an even worse case of bronchitis. The cough was deadly man. I had a 6 year addiction, and thinking back, never...ever....once....remember getting sick with even a cold. If I maybe had one, didn't feel bad, cuz pills made me feel good. Also, hydro is great for coughs. Go figure. Humph.
Avatar m tn 3 weeks later(right in the wheel house) I came down with a cold that came on strong with sneezing, runny nose, eyes watering and a headache. 4 days after is what really scared me when I lost my appetite for 2 days. Didn't want to eat a thing which is really weird because I love to eat!!! I felt it in my body there was something definitely wrong. When I finally did get my appetite back after 2 days I had diarrhea one time in the mourning.
Avatar m tn Can a person be allergic to chocolate. Are there any scientific studies supporting chocolate allergy?
