Avatar f tn I wanted to ask about etinol again, because I am very interested to know whether anyone has used a good strength OTC retinol product like Vichy, Boots or Green Cream (or prescription treitonin, Retin-A). Have you seen good results, specifically whether it may have helped with smoking wrinkles and sun damage. I know that you cannot get rid of wrinkles from smoking. However, does retinol help to fade somewhat or make them less noticeable?
Avatar n tn s, and for about 6 months I have had an onset of symptoms that appear related to smoking, but may be symptomatic of a deeper problem than merely the effects of smoking, since they are substantial and exhibited a rapid onset. when I smoke cigarettes now, I have very low energy and it puts me to sleep. I sleep for maybe 2 hours, wake for 4-6 hours, during which I am smoking more cigarettes and feel like going to sleep again. keep repeating.

A person's reaction depends on several things, including individual health, heredity, previous exposure to chemicals including medicines, and personal habits such as smoking or drinking.
Avatar f tn As long as she does not have lung related problems such as asthma and she quits now, all the adverse effects of smoking should dissipate within a few years. If she does not quit she will eventually notice increased aging of her skin relative to her non-smoking friends, increased chance of getting lung, oral and other cancers later in life and multiple respiratory problems. Even if nothing "runs in her family", it does not mean it will not affect her.
Avatar f tn I have a close friend who has been addicted to marijuana for a long time, she also smoked during her pregnancy and no they did not test her for it when she gave birth. I don't know much on the effects of marijuana use during pregnancy but I strongly suggest that you look into that for the benefit of the baby. I know that she breastfed for quite a while, continuing to pass the drug onto her child. Our sons are the same age and have been friends since infancy.
Avatar f tn I still continued to smoke for a couple of days, but only a couple of puffs from my husbands cigarette 2-3 times a day, then I looked online about the effects off smoking whilst pregnant and quit straight away! There are times when I would like a cigarette but I care for my unborn baby a million times more than a dirty fag! Honestly the best thing you can do is quit, every time you smoke your babies tiny heartbeat has to beat extremely fast as it struggles for oxygen!

Let us know about what your doctor tells you after a clinical examination. Post us if you need any other information. Regards.
Avatar f tn The liver filters everything that goes into your body. The chemicals from smoking may not get a first pass through the liver as if you'd eaten them but smoking is not liver friendly.
Avatar f tn If you stop smoking, that's the best thing you can do. You are young, you've only smoked a couple of cigarettes and you can reverse the effects if you quit. Good for you for being concerned about it! Be tough and stop smoking now!

Avatar n tn I just completed the course. My skin is now acne free, so yes it worked for me. The side effects are there, it got worse in the first month or so but then it cleared and now I'm fine. , the dryiness of lips, and eyes. But I used eyedrops and bepanthen for my lips. I think its worth it, it just needs patience and perseverance. I had tried everything else so I had nothing to lose.
Avatar f tn Look up some articles if you want to know the effects of smoking. You don't want to put anything into your body tat isn't good for either of you while you are pregnant. I don't know of any doctors who would encouraged you to continue smoking unless you are stressing out more from not smoking.
Avatar f tn People have many different opinions but there are no studys that find anything wrong with it unless you are smoking blunts which have tobacco in it or smoking a large amount daily i have also have drs say it would be ok to take a hit if it helps you eat and stops the nausea

Avatar m tn It has happened repeatedly for the past years but randomly. after smoking pot i feel the normal effects, but after a while it gets to a point in wich i start loosing sensibility in my hands, like if they were put to sleep. i feel a strange tingling, like pins and needles in my hands, that gets more intense when touching things.
Avatar f tn Not just that but smoke clings to your hair, clothes, skin, hands. .. I can't even count the number of sick infants and toddlers I've cared for in the hospital with bad respiratory infections, asthma or croup with parents who smoke. Even though they go out side the hospital to smoke while their child is admitted they come back smelling awful and their small hospital room is so full of that stench that it's hard for a healthy person to breathe.
Avatar f tn Google how smoking effects your baby. One was it increases the risk of sids (sudden infant death syndrome). That alone should be enough for someone to quit but a lot of moms turn a blind eye to the negative side effects. Best of luck quitting! !!
Avatar f tn I was a smoker and stopped straight away i dont even crave anymore and i do feel a lot better for it although ive got to admit i have to watch what i eat as at first i think i ate to give me something to do lol. Im not saying its not going to be hard especially if you have smokers around you but id also ask them to refrain from smoking anywhere near you.
Avatar f tn So I know this woman who is about as far along as I am (34weeks), and she smokes at least a cigarette everyday, and has been throughout her entire pregnancy.
