Small lump at jawline

Common Questions and Answers about Small lump at jawline

lump

I recently discovered more lumps under both sides of my jawline and just yesterday, a small lump above my collar bone. My abdominal pain is almost every day now, and sometimes I have sharp pain when I bend over or try to sleep on my stomach. I also have alot of back pain on the right side. I have the chills alot and sometimes I wake up sweaty with my heart pounding . Although I have tried to get in sooner, the ENT doctor can't see me for a month.
They are two small marble sized lumps under my ear close to the jawline. I found then while I was at work yesterday. Just overnight, they have gotten very painful anne slightly larger. When I went to bed last night, I did a hot compress because I thought there was a chance it was a blocked ear duct (my anatomy could be totally off) and it was extremely painful. Now it feels like a constant ache in my neck. The bumps are hard and just under the surface of the skin and on top the muscle.
I had anxiety about a disease . Can i get a small lump(right side) i would not even notice if i dont press my neck .
For roughly a month now I've had a small lump under a broken tooth. You cannot see it or feel it from the inside of my mouth - it can only be felt by pushing a finger up the inside of my jawline. It's hard, roughly the size of a baked bean, and can be moved around and pulled to a certain point, but ends up back in the same spot once I release it.
I noticed today that I had a dull pain/pressure behind my left ear that seems to be fanning to my left sinus area. When I went to rub back there I noticed a small, yet noticable lump an index fingers width away from the back of my ear just before where my hair line starts. I am planning on making an appointment with my doctor for Monday, but was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas as to what could have caused it or what it may be.
I have a small lump at the back of my cheek along the jawline (about in-line with my back molar). It is actually inside my cheek and I can move it around a bit. It is just over 1cm in diameter and I have had it for a very long time; I probably noticed it when I was about 8 or so and I'm now 16. It is painless and very hard, and doesn't seem to have grown a noticable amount over the years.
i too have had a small pea sized lump on my ear at the back, just near to the crease. (if you put your finger just behind the lobe and rest it in the soft part, it is just above there) it is tender to touch and has been there for nearly 3 months. i dont think it has changed in size and it isnt a different colour so you wouldnt see it there until you feel it. i have not had the chance to go and see the doctor mainly because im not that worried about it but im curious to know what it could be.
Mine is above the cheek bone, and close to my ear aswell. It's also not visible. However the lump I have doesn't hurt at all when I feel it or press down on it, and it seems to be movable. I know it has not been there for long time (developed between Oct.2008 -July 2009). I checked to see if it was on the right side aswell, and it wasn't. The side with the lump feels noticeably different than the other side. could this be a cyst?
I have a small lump on my neck, it is on the right side about halfway up. It is quite small, probably not much bigger than a pea and it feels like it is located on the neck muscle (of course I suppose it could be behind it and pushing the muscle, I am not qualified to say but I don’t think so). I have played sport before and it feels to me exactly like the kind of scar tissue you can get after a pulled muscle.
What is most worrying now is that I noticed just yesterday a slight swelling under my jaw and there is a lump. It is tender at touch. I should probably also mention that I have heavy facial hair growth from ever since and I have been removing hair from my face with creams for years. I have now stopped since this breakout for fear of irritating the skin any further. My skin apart from the acne and scars is now extremely dry and even taut.
Swollen Lymphnode on right side neck, small hard lump behind right ear, and one on jawline. fatigue, gettin kinda hot, my hands been really red. For those symptoms I have researched very thouroughly. This is what I came up with. It could be allergies, Lymphoma, Catscratch Disease, Toxoplasmosis, or HIV. Now this is just what I found guys... I need to go to the doctor, and so do u guys ok. Get checked, especially for the last one.
Hi, I am a 17 year old female and the problem I have is regarding a small lump on the side of my face accompanied by headaches. The headaches are not constant, in fact they are more like head pains, with a sharp, acute and chronic pain in my head before it goes. This happens only once a week or fortnight. I have been to the doctor for solutions for these both and have had an MRI on the lump to determine its density and substance, I also noticed that it has experienced fluctuations in size.
I'd assumed these were swollen lymph nodes, possibly a result of cat scratch disease. However, I currently have a small, tender lump on the front of my chin, slightly to the side. It's roughly right between the corner of my lip and my jawbone. It's not as painful and tender as the lumps I had on my neck/jaw, but still a bit tender nonetheless. I also can't really tell if the lump moves or not when I touch it.
is this an infection? a small bump under the skin at jawline developed overnight to swollen painful glands, warm, itchy, painful, swollen lump, no fever, some tiredness. next day developed small bumps at this site, around 10, glands are less painful but still swollen. no sign of bite, no center as in a boil, just generalized pink blotchy look, but whole left jaw is still swollen and somewhat painful. the skin is not swollen and red like a bite or boil might be. it's more like under the skin.
I just felt a small swollen gland under the left side of my neck. I went to see an ENT quickly, I was at work when this happen. The doctor has told me I have submandibular gland Infection. I am to take this medicine for two week to cause the swelling to go down, it not he's going to do a CAT scan. Have the both of you gotten better, your message are dated back to 2007, this is 2009.
Hi all, About 5 months ago I started noticing a lump on the back of my neck, so I went off to the doctors and she advised me to monitor it. A couple of weeks later I noticed two lumps at the stop of my groin both in the exact same place on either side. I thourght nothing of it and went on holiday only to come back with Impertigo. That was three months ago and I still have the enlarged lymph nodes in both areas (groin and neck).
The gum that is over the wisdom tooth is sensitive and irritated, my cheek just above it is swolen on the inside of my mouth, and I can now feel a lump just above my jawline from the outside. None of the dentist offices in my area re-open until Monday, Jan 5. Is this something that an emergency room doctor could prescribe anti-biotics for? I really don't want to wait another 4 days to try to get in to a dentist.
Have you checked if they are Lymph nodes or swollen glands. I have a small lump midway between my right ear and shoulder witch did not show up on MRI even with contrast. I agree with Carolyn it could be muscle related My NS feels it is some thing in the muscles of my neck.
He also has a lump on his neck that has moved, but not really grown in size. However, for the last few weeks, he has been scratching at it and his jawline incessantly and now, seems to have a balance problem and will fall over while he's trying to scratch. He's always been an incredibly skinny cat, but he is still eating and seeking affection.
Thank both of you for your replys. I have seen four surgeons. I am acutally the "finde" of the annie. I found a small lump under my right jaw a year ago last October. I had an appointment with my Cardiologist in February. I asked him what it might be and he performed a doppler because it was on my carotid artery. That is when we found it. We then had an MRI performed.
Well, the scars from the first infection have always felt nerve-y and a small white head is noticable at each of the 5 sites. Last night i picked at the one on my upper lip thinking that it would help, but I woke up this morning to another infected mass of multiple heads and a sore lymph node on my jaw just below the wound. Now I'm wondering if all three are linked and that maybe I have some chronic skin issue that lies dormant and erupts for whatever reason?
But I do have swolled lymph nodes under my ears and on the jawline. They are not tender or hard, but more cushy. I also have small eruptions around them that never go away. I have brought this up to my DRs (and I have quite a few), went to a hematologist and have been imaged more times than Angelina Jolie!!! Nothing shows up. Has anyone experienced swollen lymph nodes like this? Should I insist on further investigation or should I just proceed with treatment and hope for the best?
Bulging at the sides of the mouth can be a result of a number of causes. In all fairness, they can only be evaluated and treated after a direct examination and review of your pre-op photos. You also did not mention how long after the surgery it has been. Sometimes a pre-existing problem has not been addressed or eliminated at the time of the original surgery. Sometimes it is a result of a bleed or small hematoma. The reaction to fillers and subsequent scarring is also an issue.
I'm not sure why I'm doing this but it's haunting me & I just wanted to jot it down: For those who aren't familiar with my history, I was an I.V. heroin user for almost 30 yrs. & kicked 20 yrs. of Methadone here on MH. :) I'm not on forum too much these days but I still try to keep in touch.
I still have a lot of pain in nodes near groin, inner tights, armpits, jawline and even behind knees, lower back is also really bad, general itchiness, not well at all. Tested 4th gen combo and other stds 10 day, 21 days, 42 days post exposure.. neg What should I do?
I have been having this pain at the base of my skull at the back of my neck. I do have a lump that seems to be growing downwards under my jawline. AT the time of the ultrasound, I am not going to lie, my mouth was just a going. It is a small town we live in and the guy that did my ultrasound was a good friend and our kids were not getting along and I had to tell the reason for why I felt like I did, but in the meantime could've jepordized the procedure.
Hi I have had skull xray and scan that came back saying I have a sebaceous cyst/ lump at the back left of my head and where the lump/cyst is on my head there is a small spot of alopecia which was what caused to me to see a doctor about it as well as my headache symptoms. I'm becoming worried however because my alopecia is worsening on that spot and my headaches are becoming more frequent and painful, the thing that is scaring me most is the pressure build up I get along with the headache.
I had a brief bisexual encounter with another man - my first and last - that consisted of us exchanging mutual oral - he did not ejaculate nor did I notice the presence of precum - whether there was or not, I cannot be 100% for certain. At the time, I had a small lesion on the very inside of my lip where the tissue meets the bottom of the gum line - it was slightly ulcerated and white. Of course, my first thought was that I had exposed myself to a high risk of HIV infection.
It is about size of a kidney bean, firm, but not rock hard, little rubbery, movable. When I head straight, it feels very small. When I bend my neck right, feels larger, about described size. No pain, not visible, no swelling, doesn't grows. My GP said it is normal, I stopped thinking about it. Then my anxiety kicked in. I went to ENT doctor, he examined my neck, and he said that this is submandibular gland and it is there because when we age some of them tend to lower down. I was so nervous.
