Avatar f tn Has anyone had any luck on the Slim-Fast diet? I just started it, I need to lose around 30lbs.
Avatar f tn hi has any one done the slim fast diet----(milkshakes) and lost weight. How lond could u go on for? I'm planning to go on it but will do only one shake for dinner and have breakfast and lunch as normal.
Avatar f tn Does anybody know if its ok to drink protein shakes?
Avatar f tn Is it ok to drink slim fast while pregnant? I have gained too much weight so far. I started out tiny and now my mid section is huge! I'm not looking to lose weight but eating hurts. My lower back is in excruciating pain and I know it's from the weight gain and due to my belly sticking so far out. I'm only 25 weeks pregnant and I feel the only option is to eat tiny meals to keep up my energy because after I eat my stomach feels so tight b it just hurts.
1279364 tn?1280682588 m counting points but I am also chugging back a weight loss shake everyday as part of those points. There is no way I could ever do the Slim-Fast plan or anything like it. I just like the amount of nutrients in the form of chocolate milk i can get! Makes a great difference if I need a boost before working out or just need something to keep me going while I make dinner. ^_^ Anyways, some of them certainly don't taste very good. My favorite so far comes from Wal-Mart.
193609 tn?1292180293 I keep some Slim Fast shakes (or sometimes a store brand) in the fridge for those times when I don't have time for breakfast or just something quick. They come in several flavors and served ice cold, they are quite tasty.
Avatar f tn any tips on cravings.. im not on slim-fast but it is a shakes and soup diet... also any exercise tips for being quite obese... the thought of doing anything like the biggest loser makes me feel sick.. something gentle but effective... any takers?
Avatar m tn I'd personally avoid Atkins -- or any fad diet, actually. Atkins has more research on it than any other diet because it was developed originally to prevent heart disease (the creator, Dr. Atkins, died of heart disease!) The research showed that the diet did not work in the long run and was unhealthy in the long run, as it's too high in protein and too low in antioxidant rich foods.
Avatar f tn You may want to head to a health food store and ask about a Weight Gainer Protien Shake or Liquid Meal Replacement like Ensure, Slim Fast etc. If you eat normal meals each day and add a Slim Fast drink you will gain some weight as you are adding more calories. You can also download NOOM App for free or go to My Fitness Pal online and use thier calorie counters to track your food caloric intake vs. out put.
527657 tn?1214051850 NOTHING has taken off my weight. I have joined Weight Watchers and tried Slim Fast, and the Atkins diet. All to no avail. I have dropped to eating only 1300 calories a day and still the weight stays the same on the scale. I feel like a fat blob and it's all because of Paxil. Unfortunately, the side of effects of going off Paxil are worse than the weight gain. I was weaned off by my psychiatrist four years ago and ended up in the hospital for a month. I immediately went back on it.
1455850 tn?1285347092 I have Merrf A8344G Mitochondrial Disease and have a lactic acidosis issues in blood tests. Are things like the Atkins Advantage Protein Shakes that are based on concentrated Milk Protiens harmful in that they negatively affect the Lactic Acidosis issue? This discussion is related to Severe Muscle Cramping.
Avatar f tn Also covered are discussions relating to specific diet plans like the South Beach Diet, Atkins Diet, Slim-Fast, Weight Watchers, Counting Calories, Fat Flush, Body for Life and others." "Fat Flush" is a detox diet, much like a fasting regime. "Slim-Fast" is not a natural product. I am getting confused by the terse dismissals being offered to people who have come here for support.
637356 tn?1301924822 yeah, my nutritionist told me its best to have a varied diet, not one that only focuses on one particular food group, such as protein. my mother in law went on the atkins a few years ago and she literally never ate carbs, her hair started looking dull and falling out, her skin got real dry, and a whole lot of other stuff going on. and it just didn't sound healthy, like for her snack she would throw strips of bacon in a ziplock back and toss in her purse....
768251 tn?1256734583 I need to lose 120 pounds and want to know if going on an all liquid diet is safe? I want to "Pretend" that I had the lap band and just drink the nutritional shakes. I cannot afford the surgery.
Avatar f tn ie, gum, breath mint, etc. I have tried other diets ( atkins, slim fast, etc.) But I am not disciplined enough and fall off the diet after a couple of weeks. Good luck!
Avatar f tn While Atkins may help you lose weight fast, it's not something that most people can stay on long term. An overall healthy diet that centers on veggies, lean protein, low/no fat dairy and eliminates sugar and processed foods, including sugar, white bread, pasta etc is something you can maintain. It's not fast, but fast isn't healthy and will only result in further gain down the road.
Avatar f tn Well I have tried over and over again with pills shakes nutrisystem slim fast weight warchers etc you name it I tried it.

649848 tn?1534633700 For example, are you on a commercial plan, such as Nutri-system, Medi-Fast, Atkins, Weight Watchers, etc, or are you working on lifestyle changes that you’ll stick with over the long term? Are you reaching your goals on your plan?
Avatar f tn Welcome to the community. Try walking at a reasonable pace. Also look into yoga as it's low impact and done at a slow very deliberate pace. Be sure to watch what you eat as well - might also help the e-coli infection.
1968463 tn?1374757813 What I may do, is just make sure to also eat small meals with my meds. Or, I can do what I know works....slim fast shakes two times a day and good sensibel meal for dinnner. I honestly think that it is more the feeling bad and not being as active as normal that has me gaining weight. i just dont think that I want to go so extreme while dealing with everything else I have going on. I think that it would just be impossible for me too do anyway.
Avatar m tn I started thinking of what else did I start eating when I started dieting 3 months ago and realized that I also started eating more of the Atkins shakes and bars. Now when I eat them, I do not have any problems with gassiness, etc. but sometimes after a few hours after eating my next meal that is when I get gassiness, which might make me think it is the food I just ate, but could actually be the Atkins shake and bar that I ate earlier, that is now in my intestines.
1159480 tn?1263405571 m glad to see some positive talk about the Atkins/lo carb diet. I went on the Atkins diet about 6 years ago. I lost about 50 lbs. Once you get used to it, it's easy. And, I kept the weight off for the 6 years. I only gained back a few pounds when I started eating carbs again. You really get used to not eating alot of bread and sweets and it does not bother you after awhile. Unfortunately, what killed me was menopause. I gave in to the cravings for sweets and gained more weight back.
Avatar f tn All summer, I have been kind of groggy and dizzy acting. Could eating a lot of slim fast products containing chromium cause any of this?
10665671 tn?1413744449 I'm 25 weeks and 1 days my belly was just randomly shaking not fast but slow it was odd it never happened to me before do you guys know what it is?
Avatar m tn I'm 24, 5'7", 204 lbs currently. I recently (since March) have lost 20 lbs through diet and exercise but it seems like I'm at a stand still, and in the last week I have actually gained a pound and a half even though my diet and exercise regimen has not changed.
