1475492 tn?1332884167 Hi Barb! I love your handle Sidesteps I wish I could have been more creative but chose Imsolucky because of the 2 precious grandbabies I have and now when I read it it sounds like maybe I'am being sarcastic but I so didn't mean it that way and don't know how to change it! Sorry, on to your question. I had a sleep study done over 2 weeks ago and am still waiting for results. GRRRRRR.
Avatar f tn Studies on melatonin show that while it isn't addictive, your body can get lazy in the natural production of melatonin and can thus make you dependant on it. No specific studies have been done on pregnancy because it's classified as a supplement and therefore the fda doesn't require the same safety studies but it is absolutely not recommended. Dr.
Avatar f tn - eye movements are crucial for determining the stage of sleep known as Rapid Eye Movement or REM sleep. REM sleep is the stage in which most dreaming takes place.
1727818 tn?1310006636 I have been on every drug out there and had 3 sleep studies. I have researched and been taught about my disorders and other sleep disorders. Padieria may be right about the delayed phase syndrome. However, even though it is VERY uncommon to die from lack of sleep, it is possible. But, as I said in my earlier post, it would take a very prolonged period of NO sleep at all. However, it is more likely that you will suffer psychological problems and have serious health issues.
3023697 tn?1340131407 Typically, if a child is not getting enough sleep, I think it effects their attitude more. although I have seen studies that say lack of sleep makes ADHD worse. Just not sure how it makes it worse. Is it possible that the med is making him feel better and he is reverting back to his more normal ways?
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with central sleep apnea, with about 26 brain awakenings per hr, no REM, and numerous breathing stops of 30 seconds or more during several sleep studies. (I also had several instances of obstructive sleep apnea incidents during various sleep studies.) It's probably no wonder that I also have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as chronic myofascial pain syndrome and degenerative disc disease.
86075 tn?1238115091 I think the bellyachers on this list have other things going on like weight problems, smoking, drinking problems. Now or in the past. No expert here, however.
Avatar f tn Hello! So, it's been almost a year since I found out that my TSH levels are high (5.51 and the maxium is 5.45). I've been taken 0,025mg od tyrax every day, and then I did blood tests again and the TSH levels were the same (this in December). Well, last week, I went to a new doctor and he had me tested again and, surprisely, my TSH were 2,49 and T3 and T4 were normal, but my anti TPO is 85 (value of reference <40).
Avatar f tn Either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the fetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women, or studies in women and animals are not available.
Avatar m tn If all brain related causes (transient ischemic attack, disorders of hypothalamus, dementia and multiple sclerosis, head injury etc) are ruled out then Vit B12 deficiency, chronic fatigue syndrome, sleep disorders (by sleep studies), depression, use of certain drugs, and certain types of seizures (where memory loss is the predominant symptom) should be investigated for as the cause of memory loss.

1657208 tn?1404165128 If he has not had any real seeping problems before this, what you should try first is to read up on good sleep hygiene, it may help but he will have to give it an honest try. If it continues, he should see his physician. Not being able to sleep is frustrating.
3862348 tn?1348379200 said I have central sleep apnea, and have probably had this most of my life, a simple sleep study found this, and now I use a bi-pap machine, I now sleep very well (although it took awhile to get used to), and have not had those paranoia experiences since. This was several years ago, and if not for other medical problems that came on later, I would say that I was cured. Best of luck, and as always I will tell you to consult your Dr. with the issues.
1073929 tn?1314753990 I have MS and have had problems sleeping for about 9 months now. I tired going to sleep at 9, then 10 and 11 but no matter what time i go to sleep i'll wake up at 3 or 4. I have tried 4 different sleeping meds and none have worked. Is this a normal symptom?
