Common Questions and Answers about Sleep problems diabetes

Avatar f tn Everyone stops breathing once in a while during sleep due to various reasons. If the problem progresses and occurs more often, then that may mean progression to obstructive sleep apnea. If you're excessive tired or have various other medical problems, such as snoring, depression, anxiety, hypertension, diabetes or heart disease, even more reason to think sleep apnea. It sounds like you may need a sleep study.
Avatar f tn I am a 24 year old mother of two with type 2 diabetes, occasionally my fiancé will wake me or I'll wake up shaking uncontrollably. He will hold me still until it stops. My legs and feet are numb, but hurts afterwards. Can someone please explain what is happening to me??? It doesn't happen every night, but it happened twice tonight. I'm afraid to fall back asleep. Help please.
Avatar n tn From my knowledge diabetes does not have any association with sleep apnea or snoring, however, diabetes is a cardiac risk factor and so is sleep apnea if left unstreated. From your description I would wager your husband has moderate to severe sleep apnea. Usiing a CPAP will probably allow you both to sleep in the same room again...though my wife complains the CPAP unit is too loud...

Avatar n tn For t2 diabetics, the best remedy to severe skin itch is to properly control and manage their glucose levels. Is the itching throughout the day or during sleep? If during sleep hours, he needs to check his glucose levels before bedtime and adjust his insulin – if he is on insulin – accordingly. If he is not on insulin, a visit to his doctor is in order. With medications and lotions, there are no solutions or cures, only temporary relief.
704329 tn?1518523098 The most obvious symptom of CFS is chronic fatigue (not corrected by sleep or rest), but this usually goes along with additional symptoms, such as joint and/or muscle pain and soreness, central nervous system problems (memory loss, brain fog, cognative problems, headaches, etc.), bowel problems (irritable bowel, diarrhea, etc.), sleep difficulties, vision and hearing problems, etc.

Avatar n tn The real reason I am posting is that I urinated in my sleep for the first time in at least 15 and probably 20 years. Due to concerns about the impact my medical records could have on future employment opportunities, I am extremely hesitant to go see a doctor about this.
1727818 tn?1310006636 This will cause immune problems, and metabolic changes which can cause you to have diabetes, heart disease and many other unpleasant and serious disorders and diseases. So while you may not actually die from lack of sleep, you could die from these other conditions that were caused by lack of sleep or made worse by it. Padieria is incorrect in using the term 'sleep debt'.
Avatar f tn She never mentioned anything about insulin and that's because she has Diabetes Insipidus, which she clearly stated. Diabetes Insipidus IS NOT Diabetes Mellitus.
Avatar f tn Extreme fatigue could be due to anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or due to kidney or liver problems. Another possibility is sleep disturbances (like sleep apnea, imbalance of rapid eye and non rapid eye movement sleep etc.). You may sleep your customary 7-8 hours and yet feel fatigued. You need sleep studies to rule this out. Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, low Vit b12, low iron, low calcium, sodium and potassium.
