510038 tn?1489983029 this happened while sitting in a chair, so not sleep paralysis but a similar sensation which left me feeling the same as you....confused and terrified. Talk with your Dr to make sure it is sleep paralysis or something else.... Refresh my memory, have you had surgery?
387660 tn?1242596742 no more cramping, but more strange awakenings, sleep paralysis, and nonrestorative sleep. All of this suggests that I may have narcolepsy. Next month, I get a sleep study, and I may get a real diagnosis.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been suffering from what I consider severe insomnia for about 10 months now. At first there would be days where I wouldn't sleep for 2 days straight, sleep 1-3 hours, and then not sleep again. Now, thank God, I am able to sleep 3-6 hours every night if I'm lucky. Anyways, the reason I'm here because for the past four days I've had a severe headache that will go away once every four or so hours and come back.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing a vibration sensation in my anus. Should I have this checked or will it go away?
Avatar m tn I get this too, mostly in the stomach area. For some reason I feel like it has to do with blood sugar imbalances, but I don't know why I think that. Maybe it's more pronounced after I eat. I thought maybe I was pre-diabetic. Or maybe it could be related to sleep deprivation, since I haven't gotten a full night's sleep in years now and it seems to happen more often when I have an infant to take care of. It's like I can feel my cells humming/multiplying.
Avatar f tn Looks like sleep paralysis. Sleep on your sides.
Avatar n tn I used MDMA for the first (and last) time a week ago. A small/moderate dose of 150 mg. Five days after use I had a series of weird internal electric surges whenever I am on the verge of going to sleep, these vary from very minor zaps to major surges that feel like someone had literally plugged me into the mains. They either start in my head or in my spine and travel throughout my body. This makes it very hard to sleep, and keeps me up for hours.
Avatar m tn It sounds like it could be sleep paralysis to me. I do that all the time. I thought it was "night terrors." I'm fully aware of everything around me, can hear and everything but can't scream out, can't move, nothing. I learned it was common with narcolepsy. You need to go see your primary care doctor and/or get a referral to a sleep specialist.
Avatar f tn Whenever I hear about sleep paralysis I often hear similar symptoms such as not being able to move your body or speak, and being awake from your sleep with your eyes open. People with this condition would also feel or see an "evil" presence around them. However in my case, my eyes are shut, I'm able to make noise from my mouth, I don't feel any danger around me, but my body feels rigid while I know I'm conscious. There's always a strange feeling whenever this occurs.
Avatar f tn ive been having a vibrating sensation in my heel,it started a week ago.
13380387 tn?1429718230 Hi there, An absent unilateral abdominal response 'could be' clinically suggestive of a neurological condition like MS BUT if that is the 'only' finding in your neurological assessment, an absent unilateral abdominal reflex alone would not be clinically suggestive of anything really.
3143728 tn?1343008561 This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, and automatic behavior. You will need to consult your primary care physician, who may schedule you for a polysomnogram (sleep test) to rule out sleep disorders and initiate appropriate therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn If so, this could be a parasomnia called sleep paralysis brought on by REM sleep. I have found that when doctors don't know what is happening, they blame it on stress, anxiety, or panic attacks especially in women. During REM sleep the body paralyzes itself so as you can't physically act out your dreams because this can be very harmful. When sleep paralysis occurs the brain is still paralyzing your body because there is a disconnect between REM sleep and being fully awake.
Avatar n tn This time when I was feeling that vibration, I opened my eyes and checked if my body parts were vibrating and saw that those were stable as well. So, that was like an Internal Vibration, the sensation was vibration but the body parts didn't vibrated nor can a third person see you vibrating although you feel you are shaking, vibrating. I think this is somehow related to brain / neuro . I am curious to know what is this ? Is there a medical term for this ?
Avatar m tn They've really started to disrupt my sleep Last night was another such night. Up almost all night, even though I was exhausted. Just as I'm drifting off to sleep, I get the sensation of my heart stopping, which jolts(hits) me awake. Sometimes it makes me literally jump up in bed... Any advice?
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, there is no practical way to decipher between normal REM sleep and sleep paralysis. This is because in normal REM sleep you experience the same paralysis as in sleep paralysis; the only difference is your level of consciousness at the time. So there's no way to develop a sensor that an app could use to address this issue. This also may be of interest to you: I have a service dog whose primary task is medical alert.
Avatar m tn Now, this morning after feeling a vibration sensation in the upper lid, I decided to look at the eye in a magnifying mirror. I discovered the upper lid was twitching rapidly! Though I have had rt. temporal muscle jumps, most of my twitches and muscle jumps seem to be on the left side of my face. When I awaken especially, it also feels like the left side of my mouth is sagging though it isnt'. I wonder if there is a nerve causing all of this? Trigeminal? Or a nerve somewhere?
Avatar f tn I had occasional episodes of sleep paralysis when I became symptomatic with chiari. At first I didn't know what was happening but after some research I realized it was sleep paralysis upon awakening. These episodes would always happen when I woke with my neck in a strange position, usually turned to the side with my chin down. Now, I am 3 months post op and I fell asleep on the couch the other day with my neck in a bad position and it happened again.
Avatar f tn Did you have any falls during soccer practice? This type of vibration sensation can actually be related to something with your spine. Do you ride a bike or motorcycle? There is something called Pudendal Nerve Entrapment that can happen as well. BUT, if you had burning pain when you peed, you may have had a urinary tract infection. That is also sometimes tied to this buzzing sensation. You normally need antibiotics to clear up UTI's. Can you see a doctor?
Avatar m tn Hi im experiencing some sort of continues vibration in my scrotum and it never stops... makes me feel like I need a constant wee also can't sleep.... please can anyone help me.
Avatar f tn I have a strange buzzing, vibration feeling inside my rectum. Someone suggested an overactive sphincter muscle, any other ideas? Should I get a colonoscopy just to be sure?
Avatar n tn what makes sleep paralysis happen? what can i do to reduce the risk of suffering sleep paralysis? what medication is avalible for this disorder? how effective is it? how does it help? i would be very gratefull to hear off you.
Avatar m tn Sometimes I feel sensation / vibration in my testicles. What is it? Can anyone help ?
Avatar n tn I've been having this vibration sensation for the last three days in my penis. I've been assuming it has to be some kind of nerve-related, hysterical symptom. But nonetheless I started to wonder if anyone else had experienced something like this. So I typed penis +vibration on google and ended up finding this thread.
Avatar m tn The symptoms you are experiencing could be due to an entity called sleep paralysis. When this happens in sleep the person has difficulty moving his hands or feet. This is the symptom of a sleep disorder called Narcolepsy. This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive day time sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, hypnogogic hallucinations and automatic behavior.
