Sleep paralysis ringing ears

Common Questions and Answers about Sleep paralysis ringing ears

sleep-paralysis

Avatar n tn Keep this in mind while you are panicking. There are such things as sleep seizures, and this may explain the ringing in your ears etc. In your case it is definitely worth raising this with whoever is controlling your epilepsy. For some reason sleep paralysis is not taken seriously, unless it is associated with daytime uncontrolled sleepiness (narcolepsy). I think it should be researched more, as this is such a powerfully negative experience for so many people.
Avatar m tn Congrat's on 2 days ! The ringing in the ears usually goes away pretty quickly. I have heard of a few having long term problems, but very few. Sleep is usually one of the last things to return. Keep going it will get better. Go to the top of this forum and into the Health pages find the Thomas Receipe. There are a bunch of things there that might help. Stay strong and get it over with.
Avatar f tn I couldn’t move or speak, I wanting to scream out so badly and I was too afraid to open my eyes, it felt so real, as the pressure increased, a ringing sound grew louder in my ears, and I couldn’t breathe, if felt like I was dying. But then I jumped up opening my eyes and gasped air frantically, this has never happened to me before and I was so scared to go back to sleep.
Avatar n tn I am not sure if this is posted in the correct area as I am only 7 weeks pregnant. Last Wednesday I noticed my ears ringing at night when I laid down to take a nap or go to sleep at night. Doctors dont seem concerned and have no resolution and it is driving me crazy. It is to the point where I have to sleep with soft music playing which I hate... Is this a normal part of early pregnancy? Help anyone!?!
Avatar f tn Not sure how to discribe this... I have had several of these episodes in the last 3 nights. As I'm trying to go to sleep, my ears start ringing loudly, followed by complete silence (even if the TV is on); i totally lose all vision and can't move, not even a muscle...episodes last around 10-15 secs and I am awake the whole time! It is terrifying. It's like passing out, but still being conscious. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before??? It is very scary. Thanks.
Avatar f tn You need to consult a neurologist as soon as possible or go to an emergency room and get evaluated for head injury and concussion. You may also need a MRI of the brain. The headaches could just be due to the hit or due to some bleed (that caused the swelling) or due to just a superficial injury to scalp. It cal also be due to bead injury that goes deeper into the brain.
Avatar n tn If a patient complains of a sudden cough with gag reflex along with decreased hearing and ringing in the ears, vocal chord paralysis, laryngitis, night sweats. (Patient has a history and previous diagnosis of Smouldering Multiple Myeloma High risk.) CT Scan with contrast reveals a 6 mm Basilar Artery Aneurysm, forward to Neurosurgeon, NS says no link between present symptoms and aneurysm. Forward to ENT. ENT say use Flonaise, irritants/allergens most likely cause of present symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi MelO326. I have this ringing swishing sound in both ears. I will be 45 in a couple of weeks and I do not know what it is like to not have it; but, it is aggravating nonetheless; esp. when lying down to go to sleep at night. Sometimes, it is worse than other times. Especially, when I have a head cold, sinus, the few days leading up to my period, etc. and there are times I will get lightheadnes and or dizzy spells that can last up to 3 days and nights....had that to happen just last week.
Avatar f tn The ringing in the ears in something to do with the ears i think its called tinnesitis or hoever you spell thay word
Avatar f tn Ringing ears can be an indication of high blood pressure and certainly from personal experience, an increase in beta blocker drugs as well as nitrates. As Ireneo suggests, tinnitus is explained in different ways.
1390055 tn?1365615055 I was on Xanax due to anxiety at the time (I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), and Xanax makes me feel sleepy, so I was able to go to sleep without a problem, however my ears were still ringing when I went to sleep. I figured I would wake up and it would be gone, no big deal. I had no idea why they had been ringing because I hadn't been doing anything to bring it on. I woke up about 7:30AM or so, and the ringing wouldn't let me go back to sleep.
Avatar m tn Is there any reason not to expect the ringing in my ears and the sleep apnea to completely go away? These seem like such strange symptoms for a viral infection - yet it all hit together, and I've never had this before. I might add that the lethargy symptoms is something that my wife experienced for a few days, my daughter had it, and some of our friends also are reporting it, so there does indeed seem to be a bug going around causing that specific symptom.
Avatar n tn is it normal to have ringing in your ears? my ears have been ringing a lot over the past couple of days its especially noticeable when i have my head on a pillow or plug my ears...i have anxiety clearly....could this be a symptom of it as well?
Avatar f tn Tinnitus is caused by damage to the hair cells of the inner ear. When you have ringing in the ears, you may hear a buzzing, ringing, hissing or whistling noise in one or both ears. This can be a serious problem is it goes untreated because it can lead to hearing loss. Ringing in the ears is also caused by a cold, flu, ear infection, too much wax in the ear, head injuries, high blood pressure, too much fluid in the ear and certain drugs.
Avatar n tn The thing is I have always had a ringing in my ears from a very long time ago. I was very young and I think the ringing comes from stress. Pain insuces stress as well as head pressure. So when my wisdom finally started to emerge a little over a year ago the ringing in my ear started to get worse. The pressure really started to hit me around a few months ago and now its tough to sleep with all the head pain and the large amounts of ringing I get especially from laying down.
Avatar f tn I suffer from several disorders, like frequent sleep paralysis, constant lucid dreaming, some mild narcolepsy (as a doctor told me; I don't pass out but I am dragged into sleep with very vivid dreams several times a day/night), and my REM incurs too soon. Many times, though, I've experienced a trumpet sound as I fall asleep? I don't have problems with my ears, I've been tested thoroughly when I had an infection some years ago.
Avatar f tn I think ringing ears very possibly has something to do with anxiety as I have been experiencing it on and off for years. Mind you, my husband has it too and he doesn't have an anxiety disorder. It could very well have something to do with air pressure, also...but I think we (people with anxiety) are more inclined to have it because we are very sensitive to everything.
