Avatar f tn The symptoms you are experiencing could be due to an entity called sleep paralysis. When this happens in sleep the person has difficulty moving his hands or feet. This is the symptom of a sleep disorder called Narcolepsy. This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, hypnogogic hallucinations and automatic behavior.
Avatar f tn This afternoon I took a nap at 230 and before I fell asleep I had sleep paralysis for the first time which was the most terrifying experience in my life but probably has nothing to do with anything. Maybe everything is just coincidental.
7468546 tn?1395017322 They say since we are pregnant to get a better night sleep ( If That's even possible ) to stop drinking prior to bedtime , use a body pillow or pregnancy pillow in between your legs and make the room cooler. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I had an rta 16 years ago, my head went through the sunroof and was dragged along the carriageway. I am 35 now and remember about 5% of my life. I suffer from sleep paralysis and night sweats which have been getting worse over the last 5 years. My doctor (after trying hypno) prescribed amitriptilyne (10mg a day). This worked for the first two months but is now wearing off.

Avatar f tn re ahead of the game there. Great for you. After 9 days I would have loved to wake up to night sweats after 6 hrs of sleep. The lack of sleep was one of the hardest effects from detox for me. So glad you're feeling better too. Hope you've turned the corner for good. Stay on your toes though and get ready for a better life. Don't we deserve it?

Avatar f tn 35 weeks. Ive recently been getting night sweats. I thought it was because I had a fever but now I dont. Im still half soaked when I wake up to go to the toilet. Can anyone help or tell me what in the world is going on here. My partner has to wake up and help me change because ill be so soaked and it makes me cold.
Avatar m tn taking it every night might help you sleep, but only as an unwanted side effect, and it can disturb REM sleep. Have you ever tried something like melatonin that has few side effects for sleep? Might not work, but if a natural sleep remedy does work, you won't have that drugged out feeling, and you can use the medication to tackle the more serious problem, which is the anxiety and use therapy to figure out why you still have it and if it's controllable that way.

Avatar n tn i had my right ovary and fallopian tube removed 4 weeks ago due to a very large cyst being attached to my ovary. Ever since then i have suffered really awful and bad night sweats. I have discussed it with the doctor but he has said it is a hormone unbalance and the left ovary is playing catch up and needs to work for both ovaries now the right one has gone and this may take a while. In the mean time i am literally surviving on 2 hours sleep a night.

Avatar f tn Physiologically, sleep paralysis is closely related to REM atonia, the paralysis that occurs as a natural part of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. Sleep paralysis occurs either when falling asleep, or when awakening. When it occurs upon falling asleep, the person remains aware while the body shuts down for REM sleep, and it is called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis.
Avatar f tn I actually get sleep paralysis as well... It won't harm your baby at all.
