I was dreaming I was hearing voices outside my house and sirens and cars going by, and I couldn't wake up... I COULD LITERALLY feel my eyes trying to PRY open! But I couldn't! It's like I was subconsciously awake, but my body was paralyzed and in this strange state! I finally woke myself up and it was 4:30am... my stomach was in KNOTS! Paranoid feeling, felt like I was going CRAZY!
Avatar m tn Hi, suffered sleep paralysis for decades now. No voices etc, just paralysis. WHY doesn't the medical world take an interest in this phenomena, which is more common than I think is believed? It is left to the realm of cultural myths, alien abduction theories, generalized medical mumbling about anxiety - the definition of anything they do not understand or think will get them into trouble by not investigating.
7183425 tn?1388965323 Hypnopompia occurs upon waking, and may also be accompanied by sleep paralysis. It may be a direct result of alcohol or drug use, or could be due to insomnia, anxiety, stress or other factors. Try relaxation techniques before bedtime to help the mind shut down. You can also indulge in meditation and yoga. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar f tn I've lately been having trouble sleeping at night. I've been having these re occuring dreams of when i was a child. But lately i've been hearing voices and sometimes seeing people at night when i get up in the middle of the night. What do you think this means?? Does this mean I'm going insane or do I simply call my health care doctor?? Or does this mean that my brain is triggering something??

Avatar n tn When this first started happening to me the voices were accompanied by that overwhelming sleep paralysis type fear of a presence but without the paralysis. The voices are very clearly malevolent and the feeling, vibes and energy coming from them is nothing that can described as anything less than pure evil. This goes on back and forth for about 20 minutes before it stops and I can finally fall sleep. The voices dont happen so much anymore...
Avatar f tn Hi, I am interested in receiving detailed information about those who hear voices inside their heads or with their ears. I have recorded the voice I hear on a recorder so I know it's not a medical condition, but yet I have to deal with it. I know of many who do hear voices in their heads and I believe it would be beneficial for myself and others to know the specifics as to how a voice not recognized by a person could possibly be heard inside their head.
3143728 tn?1343008561 This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, and automatic behavior. You will need to consult your primary care physician, who may schedule you for a polysomnogram (sleep test) to rule out sleep disorders and initiate appropriate therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

He always has been but lately he will not sleep in his room at all. If we take him to his room by the morning time he is in our room. Last night he fell asleep in our bed and when I woke him up to move him from our bed to the couch..he started screaming NO I DON'T WANNA GO TO MY ROOM..PLEASE MOMMY NO!!! He has freaked out like that before.

Avatar n tn Hearing voices is not a symptom of ADHD or ADD. It is a symptom of some other mental problems, however. The fact that he hears voices, can see people who are not there, and that his brother has the same symptoms means that you should have both children evaluated by a psychiatrist as soon as possible.
Avatar n tn my son is thirteen year old (a little fat) and today he first tme he complains about hearing voices like somebody shouting or appealing or voice of an insect . Iam worried as his father is suffering from schizo .Please help me whato do.
Avatar m tn ILADVOCATE - I was wondering out of curiosity since you brought it up, did the psychiatrist say exactly how people who hear the thought coming as if from an external source commenting on them don't respond well to treatment? Does the medicine just not work as good or does it work physically like it should but just the symptoms still present themselves anyway?
Avatar m tn Lately, I've been struggling to get to sleep as I've either heard blaring music or heard voices. Just last night, I was too afraid to sleep. First, I heard extremely loud music. It wasn't coming from anywhere else than my head. Second, I started hearing muffled screams for help and fast footsteps. I know this was all in my head, as when I jolted up and glared at my surroundings to get a hold of myself, all was normal again.
629641 tn?1368569578 Sometimes I hear voices, but what I hear doesn't seem to be talking to me; it's more of a boring lecture going on in the background. Often it sounds like my mother. The sound of the voice always causes bored annoyance. I have not tried to tune in and understand what the words are; I believe it's lectures that I've heard in the past or other uninteresting information.
Avatar m tn I would assume it is a fever induced hallucination. It's not uncommon especially for children to have this with a fever. My brother used to talk about chocolate houses every time he had a fever. My son tells me to watch out for things that aren't there when he has a fever. Treat the fever and if it gets above 103, be sure to get immediate medical attention.
Avatar f tn During the process i am paralysed but fully aware of whats happening(its like i become fully conscious from my semi conscious state),i actually want to scream for help but im unable to do so.its almost like sleep paralysis except mine is accompanied with a violent shaking of my brain(feels like this) or my head and an intense feeling of terror.i dont lose consciousness afterwards rather i wake up completely. Sometimes ill hear voices and it often feels like an evil experience.
