459210 tn?1237381603 i just can't seem to sleep all night, nightmares and waking up everynihgt at 2am. wake up scratching myself , and sweating on the back of my neck. grinding my teeth. what can i do, i never feel rested, and im so so tired, always. any clues?
Avatar m tn I can answer your questions because i have the exact same symptoms and have been having them for years. I have sleep apnea and narcolepsy, and the hallucinations are caused by sleep deprivation. I hate the fact that i can't seem to get out of these dreams but i have recently found the solution. Get out of bed and do something for 5 or 10 minutes....i usually will come downstairs and check my email or just surf for a few minutes.
Avatar f tn Magnesium, potassium, vitamin D3, and zinc deficiencies may cause sleep problems. Some people have nightmares from eating too close to bedtime. Relaxation therapy may help you a lot, and yoga is even better. I do not like Rx meds, or even melatonin in a young person. It's probably okay for older people IMO.
Avatar f tn Nightmares are vividly realistic, disturbing dreams that rattle you awake from a deep sleep. They often set your heart pounding from fear. Nightmares tend to occur most often during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, when most dreaming takes place. Because periods of REM sleep become progressively longer as the night progresses, you may find you experience nightmares most often in the early morning hours.
Avatar m tn It could be sleep deprivation, as it has happened to me aswell during times i havent been getting good amounts of sleep (8-10hr). if that not the cause then tell a docter, also include the details of what your seeing, people, physical/facial/etc descriptions.
Avatar f tn ve been have nightmares, I even had times where I fell in my sleep and ended up smacking myself in the face, which thankfully woke me up from half of my nightmares. I wanted to know if its very common in some pregnant women or am I supposed to be having some good dreams?
1794093 tn?1357930759 I definitely understand the sleep deprivation. It really ***** :( I work overnights and have a terrible time trying to sleep during the morning/afternoons. Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!
1926359 tn?1331588139 m going down by a third a week-the doc said this was ambitious but I really want to be free so there you have it. If I can get a few nights good sleep I will be prepared to deal with the sleep deprivation again....Ugh. So easy to put in your body...so hard to get out. Wish me luck with the sleep fairies tonight....
Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
Avatar m tn Depression can cause sleep deprivation... which then leads to that "blurred" perception that you mentioned... if anything, you're most likely losing sleep; not your mind.
Avatar n tn I am always tired and asleep by 9pm and awake between 7:30-8:00am Couple of toilet trips and tossing/turning Not having bad or strange dreams anymore let's hope it lasts How is everyone else doing?
Avatar f tn But in adults it could be associated with stress, anxiety or other sleep disorders. Sleep deprivation and stress are known to aggravate these symptoms. If the symptoms are interfering with your sleep schedules consult your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn There not sure why warm milk help sleep as tryptophan only helps with the initial cycle of sleep but can disrupt deep sleep, but you may want to try it to help you get to sleep initially just only drink a small glass. There is something called Lactium in milk which relaxes infants but there is an all natural medication called dreamerz food that contains a consentrated amount of Lactium(enough for an adult) along with melatonin that has gotten alot of great attention.
Avatar m tn I already was struggling with poor sleep due to sleep apnea that was undiagnosed at the time. At work my responsibilities increased and I was constantly rehashing in my mind the various decisions I had to make in selecting and writing specs for a data management software conversion. Then an extended family member was killed in the military and I had to plan the local service while the parents were out of state at the memorials on the base.
Avatar f tn My baby was in a bassinet next to the bed for the first couple of weeks and not only was he a noisey sleeper adding to my sleep deprivation, but both my husband and I had crazy nightmares that we'd fallen asleep with him in the bed with us and were terrified one of us would roll on him. Those first couple of weeks were crazy until we moved the bassinet into his own room! But its completely up to you. Maybe research safe sleeping guidelines?
Avatar f tn Has anyone experienced stress related nightmares during there pregnancy? I've been having awful dreams and waking up sweating, shaking and hyperventilating and its very hard to fall back to sleep because I'm so hyped up, anyone experienced this!?
9536744 tn?1414122031 For the last week I have fought to get rest and cant sleep until im dead exhausted! seems sometimes when I finally do get to sleep I have nightmares about the baby or my hubby. Totally stinks!
603220 tn?1219915174 After all the questions your doctor asked and your replies, surely they recommended a sleep study? Sleep deprivation causes decreased libido and symptoms that look like depression, plus daytime sleepiness, fatigue, awaking unrefreshed. If you have some episodes that look like apnea that your boyfriend sees, there's likely many more he doesn't see, as he is either sleeping (or peeing). By the way, frequent nighttime urination can be a sign of sleep apnea. Maybe he needs checked too.
Avatar f tn Ever since I entered the second trimester I have been having the most vivid and realistic dreams and nightmares I have ever had.
Avatar n tn Okay? I've been having a lot of nightmares since I got pregnant, most of the time involving a baby. Anyone else?
Avatar f tn I'm too scared to sleep. I've been having nightmares lately and my bf got arrested the other day so I'm sleeping all alone. On top of that, I saw a HUGEEEE spider in my room. Now i can't find him and I'm so terrified that he'll crawl on me if i go to sleep. I'm too scared to squish him if he comes out again, so I'll just spray him to death with febreze.
