Avatar m tn Sleep Deprivation, Depression and stress are the things of which one of them can be responsible for My Memory Loss and Memory Problems. Just want to know if it caused by Neuron cell breakdown or something else for the mentioned reasons.
2188151 tn?1338143049 I have to agree with John, that sometimes In-Patient Treatment can become neccessary, since your depression has gone on for two years now,has gotten worse, it includes sleep deprivation, suicidal ideation, and your Effexor is no longer working at all, and may actually be the cause of your sleep deprivation. Only a Psychiatrist would be able to advise you.
1926359 tn?1331588139 I agree with GA...call the doctor for some help. Sleep deprivation is horrible and it's just going to keep wearing you down. Yes. It's very normal for some to have a sleep problem 7 days in. It's awful, I know...Go out and get the Alteril (I know they have it at Walgreen's). Stay up all day and do as much as you can physically. Then go through all the bed preparations early (6 or 7 pm).
1794093 tn?1357930759 I definitely understand the sleep deprivation. It really ***** :( I work overnights and have a terrible time trying to sleep during the morning/afternoons. Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!
326352 tn?1310994295 For any of you out there who have or have had in the past toddlers in the house.....how do you EVER get enough sleep? And of course, the diet gurus all say that adequate sleep is so important. How do you do that with 2 babies who are alternating their wake-ups....sleep restlessly (in our bed, they don't start there, but end up there around midnight)...and God love them, keep mommy from getting a good night's sleep.
8467907 tn?1407411342 Its 2am n I can't get 2 sleep this has been happening for days now....
Avatar f tn (2) I may be even experiencing some levels of depression-but is related to the sleep aids. Since my employer would punish me for taking any SSI and even the AMBIEN if discovered can a medication such as "Adderroll" help me focus more. Please help.
Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
Avatar m tn Hey you guys, does cavernous hemangiomas cause sleep deprivation, sort of mixing your days a nights up? This symptom has kind of been bothering me before and after the substantial bleed! Also does personalities changes take place for example aggressive stubbornness, fits of anger, a overwhelming desire for solitude and depression?
Avatar n tn For the last 6 weeks he has been off work following an accident which in my view was a direct result of sleep deprivation. His employer (a large well known logistics firm) schedule drivers' shifts on a weekly basis bearing no similarity to the previous week, Shifts are quite different from one week to the next. Drivers may start at 3 am one week or even 1 pm the next and consequently they are required to adjust their sleeping patterns accordingly.
Avatar f tn I tried a 5mg dose of Ritalin (1x day) for a week and it was a migraine free week (despite high stress and sleep deprivation due to work). I realize a week is not enough to make a judgement call, so I am looking for advice from those that have tried it for this purpose, or the medical community, before I talk to my neurologist. I am allergic to triptans, and have tried everything from Topamax (made me nauseous) to Fiorecet to Gabapentin and Tramadol (current as needed treatment).
Avatar n tn I would recommend that you try to avoid being sleep-deprived in the future, if possible, and consult a doctor on treatment for postnatal depression. Depression can cause different types of sleep disturbances by dint of it affecting important neurotransmitters in your brain. Treatment of this will likely help stabilize your sleeping patterns.
620048 tn?1358018235 The sleep deprivation is a killer. I struggle with it always. I've been on ambien for a long time and it only works intermittently only. The med that worked best for me was temazapam (generic for Restirol) but I ended up getting allergic after 5 months. I could not believe how I felt in the morning when taking that - it was wonderful and I was glad to know what a nights sleep was worth the next day. No sleep leaves you functionless and like a zombie in every way - mentally, physically.
Avatar n tn They gave me 4 times the dose of what I was suppose to have- 100 lb. woman. I am having severe sleep deprivation from this, night sweats and the shakes. How do I get my sleep habits back? I am waking up every hour! I am due to have surgery in a few days and am afraid that I am going to wake up during the procedure. I need help, what do i do? Thank you!
Avatar m tn When you say "total lack of sleep", do you mean absolutely none and for how long? Is she using a stimulant to stay awake? I think it would have to be extreme and prolonged to cause a psychotic episode, but I don't have any experience with that. I do know 2 young women who had breakdowns after a prolonged hyper state. I can speak a bit to what it's like to have a sensory overload and get stuck in high gear.
Avatar f tn Other times, the conversation makes no sense at all and I am starting to freak out that this happens occasionally. I also have had depression/anxiety for years, but am also chronically sleep deprived, working nights as a nurse and then caring for my 2 little boys at home. my toddler is "out of control" at times and I feel I cannot handle all this....not that I would ever hurt my family, but more that I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.
Avatar m tn I understand how you feel about the sleep deprivation. I went for week's on a few hrs. of sleep. That's part of the depression/anxiety. Give the zoloft a little more time, sleep will come, try not dwelling on it.
Avatar m tn Depression can cause sleep deprivation... which then leads to that "blurred" perception that you mentioned... if anything, you're most likely losing sleep; not your mind.
Avatar f tn Recently began having recurrance of severe insomnia and anxiety/depression despite medication for both and synthroid as well. PCP ordered hormone levels FSH was normal. T3 total 115, T3 uptake ws high (41) T4 total was normal (9.5) but free T4 index was high 3.9. Dr. said tests were normal. Is this true? If not what does it mean? I had severe stress from job and quit it just last week but still miserable with sleep disturbance and night sweats, rapid heart beat etc.
1457220 tn?1285503511 Due to long term sleep deprivation in night time or delay in sleep will lead to excessive day time sleep or sleepiness, which happens due to change in normal sleep-wake cycle. This is termed as hypersomnia of central origin. If stress is present, you need to go for relaxation exercises. You need to undergo tests like Polysomnography, Multiple Sleep Latency Test and CSF levels of Orexin/Hypocretin which help to substantiate the diagnosis.
