Avatar m tn The doctors may be more concerned right now with the short-term priorities, which is understandable, because sleep deprivation can lead to fatal car accidents and serious trouble with meeting your day-to-day obligations and quality of life. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Murder, rape, robbery, death, car accidents, etc. So far no one can come to even the slightest idea of what may be causing it. As far as I know, I've never experienced any real trauma so PTSD may be ruled out. UNLESS my memory has suppressed it? I am not looking for a "suppression" solution such as medication, etc. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any therapy that may work (I'm looking into Hypnosis).

1794093 tn?1357930759 I definitely understand the sleep deprivation. It really ***** :( I work overnights and have a terrible time trying to sleep during the morning/afternoons. Im also up every hour, or hour and a half, then still manage to work/do things around the house. I always thought the 2nd trimester was supposed to be the best, sure i dont feel sick anymore, but this has been brutal for sleep. Thats exciting about your ultrasound coming up, and really exciting that you are not finding out the gender!
1926359 tn?1331588139 m going down by a third a week-the doc said this was ambitious but I really want to be free so there you have it. If I can get a few nights good sleep I will be prepared to deal with the sleep deprivation again....Ugh. So easy to put in your body...so hard to get out. Wish me luck with the sleep fairies tonight....
Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
Avatar n tn For the last 6 weeks he has been off work following an accident which in my view was a direct result of sleep deprivation. His employer (a large well known logistics firm) schedule drivers' shifts on a weekly basis bearing no similarity to the previous week, Shifts are quite different from one week to the next. Drivers may start at 3 am one week or even 1 pm the next and consequently they are required to adjust their sleeping patterns accordingly.
Avatar f tn But still- she’s drinking a TON and having to pee all the time (some nights getting up to let her out every two hours...sleep deprivation is real!). We assumed that because her cortisol is normal- the peeing would also be. Any thoughts on this? She’s very sensitive but also stubborn- we aren’t sure if now she thinks it’s ok to pee in the house? Or if sometimes the constant urination just won’t be resolved. Any tips or suggestions are encouraged!
Avatar n tn Hi, I've recently turned 18 and have had trouble falling asleep due to internal tremors that I apparently have no control over. These started a few years ago in my legs, which my dad said could be RLS, which I read online is quite common and nothing to be worried about because they only last a few seconds at most. However, now I've started receiving constant tremors in the lower and upper parts of my stomach/chest (some nights it's my lower stomach, others it's my upper chest).
Avatar n tn There not sure why warm milk help sleep as tryptophan only helps with the initial cycle of sleep but can disrupt deep sleep, but you may want to try it to help you get to sleep initially just only drink a small glass. There is something called Lactium in milk which relaxes infants but there is an all natural medication called dreamerz food that contains a consentrated amount of Lactium(enough for an adult) along with melatonin that has gotten alot of great attention.
Avatar m tn I already was struggling with poor sleep due to sleep apnea that was undiagnosed at the time. At work my responsibilities increased and I was constantly rehashing in my mind the various decisions I had to make in selecting and writing specs for a data management software conversion. Then an extended family member was killed in the military and I had to plan the local service while the parents were out of state at the memorials on the base.
Avatar f tn Sleep is a necessity, without it, you are going to get much worse, mentally. The sleep deprivation will feed the anxiety, and when the hallucinations start (and they will without sleep), you will be more fearful than ever. That's why it is SO important for you to seek some help, urgently. While you're waiting to see a doctor, try napping during the day, when you feel less fearful. If you have to, lie down and refuse to allow yourself to get back up until you get some sleep.
Avatar f tn But they can be also caused by incompetent cervix, by illness, by stress, by cord accidents, by nutritional deficiency, by organs growing improperly, by oxygen deprivation, by trauma... by lots and lots of different things. And it can happen at any point in pregnancy though obviously it is most common in the first trimester. 25% of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, but only 1% of pregnancies are miscarried after 12 weeks.

Avatar f tn My partner suffered severe neck injuries after a car accident, which also gave him headaches and back pain. 3 months later he suffered a subarachnoid hemmorage at the top of the brain stem which shouldnt be clipped because of the position of the bleed. He still has the same type of headaches, loss of power and feeling and sensation to the right side of his body, blurred vision in his left eye and neck pain. Constanly being told he is very lucky!!!
7615538 tn?1392668171 Car accidents can cause shock to your body and you might not know that something is wrong. It's safer to go just in case you have whip lash or even something more serious.
Avatar n tn s because I had 2 accidents in the past 3 years--one where a speeding car in the middle of the day T-boned me, one where I scraped the car along a railing in a construction area (might have dozed off?), and one where I caught someone's bumper when doing a U-turn--he came out of nowhere. I also have had a couple of close calls while a passenger: scary!
Avatar m tn So, with my second child, I had some serious sleep deprivation. The kid wouldn't sleep for more than 1 to 2 hours and so I was up all night and it went on for a year. Sigh. What happened to me was a surreal experience maybe like what you describe. Sometimes on autopilot, going through the motions and then awareness would set in. So I do think sleep deprivation is the cause of what you are experiencing. I don't think it is a permanent issue of brain damage from it, thank goodness.
Avatar n tn How can we determine if these problems are from oxygen deprivation and are they reversable? She does not fully recognize the extent of these problems.
774736 tn?1311331385 I was diagnosed with GAD earlier this year and have gone through horrific panic attacks, agoraphobia, and many other anxiety related nightmares but lately Ive been struggling with sleep deprivation...Every day for the past couple months I have not been able to sleep at a reasonable hour...I have to completely exaust myself to finally get to sleep and before I do, I go through a period of feeling "under the influence", as if im drunk or high...
Avatar n tn Up until like 25 Weeks I had horrible dreams of hubby leaving me, baby not making it, death of me or family members and car accidents, I think its all the hormones and stress of such a major change. Try to tell yourself before falling asleep about good fun things to try and switch up your bad dreams to good but I know how hard it can be when the dreams seem so real!
Avatar f tn Is buying a used car seat bad? If the expiration date is fine and a confirmation letter of no açcidents?
