1927723 tn?1323033925 This was my first experience with UT hospital & they are wonderful there. I thought Parkwest was the only hospital in Knoxville worth anything. Boy was I wrong! I just left Dr. Bowlings office for my post op appointment & everything is good! He told me about a website where if I want to left my testimony about my ordeal I can. Check it out when you get a chance. Www.vitals.com I hope all goes well! I think you will be very impressed! He is a very young doctor but is very knowledgable.
Avatar m tn Are there any support groups that meet for Chiari survivors, sufferers in Knoxville, TN. My daughter had decompression surgery a year and a half ago. Since then she has been suffering from headaches and mind seizures as well as fear, depression and anxiety. She has had to quit her job and we are probably going to have to file for disability for her. I think a support group would help her feel not so all alone.
Avatar f tn over crowding and ne other related condition like syringomyelia, tethered cord, ICP, POTS, sleep apnea and ehlers -danlos. Have u researched ur family history for the hypoglycemia?
Avatar m tn There is a DPM in Waynesboro, Virginia - Kevin Murray, who does cryosurgery. Just be forewarned: It is true you will be able to walk out of the office after the procedure with your shoes on. What no one seems to want you to know is, when the anesthetic and freeze wear off, you will probably be in a world of hurt. No amount of OTC med will even cut the severity of the pain. Speaking for myself, I had MN diagnosed by four DPMs, from December 2004 to December 2007.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm in Knoxville Tn, and I'm looking for information on the trail studies for Hep C treatment for my mom. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start?
Avatar n tn I had ptyrigium removal from my left eye (second time) this past Tuesday, May 20th in Knoxville, TN at the UT Medical Center. The first operation last April resulted in the regrowth of the ptyrigium - autograft with stitches was used. I thought I was doing very well until today, when the part of the eye with the autograft has turned from "sort of" red to "very dark red". I can see out of the eye, no discharge, and no pain any worse than I have had the past 3 days.
Avatar f tn Yes we are all aware of the smaller herniations that can cause much more issues then those longer ones due to the fact the shorter ones may be wider then the longer ones, and being wider block CSF flow, while the longer one still allows the fluid to flow freely.....it is the obstruction of flow that causes the pressure and many symptoms we endure. And this is why a CINE MRI is at the top of the list of needed testing....along with the cervical, brain thoracic and lumbar spine MRI's...
Avatar f tn selmaS Thank you for your help. I know what NS stands for but what does NL stand for? I'm unfamiliar with those abbreviations. Is that just a regular neurologist? Do most people with Chiari just go right to see a Neurosurgeon? I'm just so frustrated!
